Bayit Yehudit demands end of freeze end of High Court dominence

By Ted Belman

Ayelet Shaked spoke up:

“I explained to the Likud that we won’t sit in a government that sells the Ministry of Religious Services to Shas, that freezes construction in Jerusalem and Judea-Samaria, and that doesn’t institute any reforms in the judicial system,”

This is the first time I read that anyone was talking about ending the construction freeze. Its about time.

Bayit Yehudit isn’t bluffing. It can’t join a government that wont lift the freeze and won’t reduce the power of the High Court.

  1. For some reason (?) every prime minister gives in! Will BB cave into the left rather than defend the values of the right.
I support fully the minimum demands of Bennett and Kahlon.

  2. Basically it is as it has been known it would be with the speechster “coalescing”. He closes deals with the likes of Deri, a released felon and part of the Oslo crew. But Netanyahu makes every effort to block true Jewish leaders. Remarkably, Lapid has been totally silent. And so has been Livni.
My friends, we have a huge problem up there. The situation is so bad that Iran does not even look our way let alone worry.
If Netanyahu, as he always planned, “unites” with Livni-Herzog I expect wholesale attacks on Jews and betrayals all around.
    Solution?
As we have promoted for a decade plus. Complete dismantling of the pretend system of government and removal of the renegades therein and electing/selecting a MEW government system and people who must be carefully vetted.

  3. If Bennett doesn’t get ironclad guarantees that the freeze will be lifted and not applied again, he should go not jopin the coalition. Bibi would then have to try to make a deal with Labour. or call another election. Bennett will do much better in a new election.

  4. the situation with BB and likud and their coalition so far is that it is not a right wing coalition without bennett wrt YS. BB probably wants an emasculated Bennet with no real effect so that it provides a right wink image and fig leaf to cover up his lack of right wing action. It might be better for Bennett to go into opposition rather than form with BB and continue to provide him the fig leaf of appearing to be right wing. BB’s coalition just looks like a series of personal interest groups so far. Other than for themselves I have no idea what the 2 religious parties stand for. If Bennett went to opposition he would be able to clearly define himself separate from Likud and BB. BB will likely continue to behave as a center to left winger. Bennett appears to be the only decent size party that wants any part of YS. Bennett gained popularity when he went up against BB in PE so perhaps the opposition would serve to clearly show how BB is a fake and Bennett is the real right wing. Many votes were lost to BB from Bennett because voters were panicked with BB BS. In the coalition he will have to rubber stamp BB moves that make Bennett look wishy washy. I doubt that Bennett will have much effect on the YS issue.

  5. So if Kahlon holds firm and Bayit Yehudit holds firm Likud will not be able to form a coalition without Herzog. If Herzog and Bibi were telling the truth that they will not sit together, Herzog will get a chance to form a government but I do not think he could form one.

This would lead to new elections which will lead to what I do not know except probably Likud would guess less seats because they could not even form a government.

My guess on what happens is that a whole bunching of compromising happens in the last couple of days by the right and Kulanu or Bibi and Herzog will form a government with the religious parties. Then Bennett will be out and so will Lieberman.

  6. I respect those requests. The double face of the LIKUD must be brought to an end.
    Kol Hakavod to Mr. Bennett.
