1. I applaud the wonderful letters I’m reading right now, like those of Bill Narvey and Nick McAvelly! Letters that every single Canadian should read. Bernie Farber and the CJC’s remarks about the JDL and their demonization of the EDL remind me of the demonization of Israel by so called ‘legitimate, moderate and justice seeking organizations and governments’ world wide. While the CJC and other mild mannered British Jewish organizations and the English Government itself attack the EDL on all fronts, they miss their opportunity to attack the real, obvious demons in the world like the large and growing group of radical Islamists and their leftist supporters. Kind of like the UN constantly condemning Israel while ignoring Iran, Sudan, Syria, Lebanon, Hezbollah, Hamas, China and others. The CJC and similar organizations need to take an honest look in the mirror at themselves! Any enemy of radical Islam is a friend of mine. May G-d help the EDL succeed in taking back their country.

While Farber may honestly be concerned EDL’s past, whether those negative aspects of that history are warranted or not, why has Farber and CJC not been as stridently, candidly, unequivocally and forcefully opposed to Islamofacism, in all its facets, including the facet that is anti-Israel and anti-semitic, as EDL?

   In Canada, the Muslim Student Associations, the Coalition against Israel Apartheid and Students for Solidarity with Palestinians to name several groups have all been involved on campuses in agitprop against Israel. That rhetoric that has been described by witnesses as often descending to the level of anti-semitism. Jewish students including Hillel that is supposed to represent Jewish students, have been fearful of speaking out against this anti-Israel/anti-semitic rhetoric as rigorously as that rhetoric is expressed.

   Jewish students’ freedom of speech has thus been impaired, especially when university Presidents and administrations fail to curb such anti-Israel rhetoric and activism, such as we have witnessed at York University recently and indeed facilitate it by giving these anti-Israel organizations use of university facilities to spread their messages.

   There are of course other anti-Israel organizations in Canada have also been very vocal and activist against Israel, including a quickly growing organization of Jews called Independent Jewish Voices.

   JDL may be rough around the edges in its strong support for Israel and its strong stance against Islamofacism and radical Islam, but CJC has not done itself or the Jewish community any favours when it seeks, by various communiques and media interviews to treat JDL as a more marginal and extreme Jewish pro-Israel advocacy group and portray itself as a leading mainstream Jewish voice of moderation.

   CJC usually comes off as being guided by political correctness and fear of saying anything that might offend even one of Israel’s/Jews’ detractors, especially those strident anti-Israel voices that are Muslim.

   Leading mainstream Jewish leadership seems to be devising strategies and tactics for pro-Israel/Jewish advocacy/activism with a sha shtill attitude, reminiscent of Jewish ghetto thinking of the past.

One of the first things the EDL did when the press started using these tired old ad hominem arguments against them instead of actually listening to what they were saying and discussing the issues, was arrange for the press to photograph them burning a swastika and throwing the ashes into a dustbin. Which makes their position on that particular issue clear, does it not?

   Many of the EDL people have served in the armed forces of the United Kingdom. Many have relatives who have done so. Needless to say, among such a group there is a deep, deep undercurrent of hatred for Nazi-ism in all its guises.

   That working class people are driven to form a group such as this in the first place speaks volumes. Where are the politicians in the UK who dare to stand up and speak the truth about Islamic doctrines and history? Not one of them has the guts to do so. When a Dutch politican tried to fly over to the UK and talk about Islam at the House of Lords the government stopped him! When it comes to discussing Islamic teachings and history, the British government and the media will go to any lengths to avoid having the truth spoken – by anybody.

   That’s what the English Defence League are facing – all that before anyone even listens to a word they say about radical Islam!

   I suggest that anyone with even a vague interest in supporting Israel and understanding both the threat Israel faces and what drives that threat, takes a look at the forces arrayed against the EDL and what they’re trying to do to them. And then look at what the EDL are actually trying to talk about, and what they have to say. You might find that you have more in common with them than you thought. A lot more.

4. Laura Babcock is the problem. There is a history of governments and regimes behaving in exactly the way she derides, and they survived. Jordan 1970 Black September. Syria, the Hama massacre. Egypt, countless times cracking down on the Muslim Brotherhood.

   On the other hand, countries like Lebanon, Ivory Coast and Yugoslavia all left things too late (with the Serbs obviously committing inexcusable crimes). Then there are countries like Nigeria, Israel or the Philippines, who do not fight with enough force (due to political will or physical ability) and we see endless war. In the case of the Philippines, jihad has been ongoing in the south since 1380.

   As long as we have Neville Chamberlain reincarnated in people like Babcock, we are destined to remain under siege for the foreseeable future.

5. Radical Islam is the biggest threat in the world today. Far more dangerous than global warming, etc. Thank G-D for groups like the JDL and the EDL who have the guts to stand up to it while the rest of us sit in the comfort of our homes and talk about it or worse, ignore it. I was at the JDL rally to support the EDL. It was poorly attended because of the nasty snow storm and possibly some people turned away as they approached the large numbers of demonstrators and police outside – out of fear. Inside the meeting a bunch of us geriatrics were watching horrific videos of Moslems shouting their support to destroy western democracies as well as the Remembrance Day disaster in England while peacefully sipping tea. Meanwhile outside the young violent demonstrators who were holding up traffic, attacked a police officer and damaged a squad car. Police needed horses to control this crowd of thugs. The message here should be crystal clear: We are facing what England and the rest of the Europe and the world is facing – A real threat to our way of life. It’s clear that the police in England are already scared of the radical Moslems while their government and others continue their futile attempts to appease them. We cannot make the same mistake here. Sometimes even Jews can be our worst enemies. While I’m sure Bernie Farber has done much good in the past, he made a big mistake by printing a story in the Toronto Sun (and I do mean story since he was not at the rally) condemning the JDL rally to support the EDL and indirectly accusing these 2 groups for causing the violence instead of placing the blame directly on the violent protesters themselves!

6. A group such as the EDL that tries to open the eyes of western society and governments to the atrocities being committed by Muslims world wide deserves support. Just as long as they, regardless of their past, respect and cooperate with like minded non Muslim groups and do not revert to their former words and actions. Most people do, indeed, learn from their errors.

   When will the world open its eyes and minds to see what is happening to human rights and freedoms in almost all Islamic countries and to most of Europe and very soon South America.

   Enough of this good Muslim, bad Muslim rubbish. Of the 1.3 billion Muslims in the world the pathetically minuscule few of them that speak out against the horrors and ambitions of their co-religionists amount to no more than a tear drop in the oceans.

7. The EDL from its inauguration had Jewish members and supporters, as well as Sikh, Hindu and black members and supporters. So, if in spite of this mixture of ethnic members & supporters from the very start of the EDL’s activities, Mr. Coren can come out with a statement that the EDL had a ‘neo-nazi past’ then the same must surely also be applied to the various foul-mouthed anti-Israel/anti-Jewish Far-left organizations with members of similar ethnic backgrounds…! As for the peabrained Madam Babcock, the less said the better. I guess she doesn’t worry that one fine Islamic day she would be forced to don a burkha and have all her human rights taken away from her as a despicable female in Islamic society. Actually, I think she’d look great in a black burkha with only a slit for her eyes….!

   He was attending Remembrance day celebrated in memory of the soldiers who gave their lives for democracy and freedom for the West during WWII.

   Muslims were chanting “BRITISH SOLDIERS BURN IN HELL”-

   Tommy Robinson saw them burning the REMEMBRANCE DAY POPPIES and turned to a Police officer and asked him if he was going to stand there and do nothing- The Police officer did not respond- So Tommy Robinson jumped over the barrier to take a flag from the Muslim protestors …he was arrested and charged with assault.

   Now this took place in an area where there was surveillance- cameras- government buildings – in the UK you cannot move without being under surveillance. Tommy Robinson asked the Police Officer if they could review the videos of him in order to prove he did not assault a Police Officer- The claimed there were no videos.

   Fortunately for Tommy Robinson some one in the crowd had been filming him and produced a video which proved he did not assault anyone. Today he got off!

   This is lies. The EDL has many Sikh and Hindu members who are persecuted by muslims every bit as much as Jews. The EDL is very protective of their Jewish members and any negative comments from Trolls about Jews on the EDL forum website are swiftly met with counter arguments from other members.
