slomianskyThe chairman of the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee has proposed legislating a clause that would allow the state to deport the families of terrorists for the duration of half of the terrorist’s prison sentence.

Nissan Slomiansky (Habayit Hayehudi) has also suggested stripping Israeli citizenship or residency status from family members of terrorists who commit murder.

“Unfortunately, there is not enough of a deterrent in the existing law,” MK Slomiansky said. “I believe that this step would introduce much more powerful deterrence than taking action against the terrorist alone.”

In an interview with Israel Hayom, Slomiansky surmised that when potential terrorists realize that not only will their homes be demolished if they commit an act of terrorism but their family will be deported as well, it could deter them from acting on their impulses.

In recent weeks, the Knesset Constitution, Law and Justice Committee has been focused on completing the 100-page legislation designed to combat terrorism ahead of a Knesset vote. Slomiansky believes that this law will dramatically reduce the scope of terrorist attacks against Israelis, and he is eager to pass the law by the end of January.

“I say this with complete confidence, because after the legislation is approved, we will wage a battle not only against lone terrorists but also against all the surrounding mechanisms like Islamic Movement charities, which raise money for the Northern Branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel,” he said.

“Until now, we did not have the proper tools to handle it, but now we can ‘dry them out,'” he added.

For Israel’s political echelon, the idea of deporting terrorists’ families is nothing new. The prospect has been raised in Diplomatic-Security Cabinet discussions in the past, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon and others supporting deportation. It is now up to the attorney general to determine the legality of the move, with the main concern being that it could be construed as collective punishment, which is prohibited under international law.

Meanwhile, the cabinet has decided to closely monitor movement in and out of Palestinian communities by deploying troops to surround certain areas. Following the decision, Israeli troops have now fully surrounded the village of Beit Ummar near Hebron where a Palestinian terrorist ran over and wounded six soldiers on Friday.

The Israel Defense Forces also announced Saturday that they have completed mapping the homes of two terrorists who committed attacks on Friday in preparation for demolition. The IDF reported that clashes erupted with local residents of Beit Ummar while Israeli troops and engineers were examining one of the homes.

  1. Serious development reported in major Jewish terrorism case

It has led the Shin Bet, security establishment, and police to an optimistic outlook regarding solving the crime, and the likelihood of submitting an indictment to prosecute those responsible.

The second is that police have filed for and received a gag order to cover all details of the investigation.

Get ready for the big frame up…. they have spent a lot of time in secret gathering evidence favorable to their lynch mob incitements against Jewish settlers without evidence that led to many revenge burnings and stabbings of Israelis.

Does anyone seriously beleive that those in leadership who so quickly in unison engaged in such incompetent, dangerous and suspicious behavior…. who already committed to name perps without evidence that resulted in dead Jews… does any one believe that such folk would ever in a million years come up with evidence which contradicted their lynch mob accusations prior, does anyone believe they would allow evidence which exposes their incompetence?????????????

  2. Deport the family. Sell their house and land to Jews for a nominal fee. Money would be made available to the deportees when Jewish properties in Muslim countries which have been stolen by Muslims are paid to the Jewish owners.
