“Palestine”, to be or not to be?

Rachel Neuwirth wrote a great article The Treachery of the “Two State Solution” which was published by American Thinker. In it she argues against a two state solution and concludes,

The West can never begin to think of a realistic prospect for peace until we extirpate the root cause of Islamic ideology and its terrorists infrastructure organizations (such as Fatah, Islamic Jihad, Hamas, Hizb’allah, Muslim Brotherhood, and others) from the midst of the Middle East and elsewhere. There can never be peace with terrorists determined to destroy another nation or people. Nor can those willing to tolerate such terrorists contribute to peace.

It reminds me of an article I wrote in Dec ’05 “Palestine” will never come into existence. I argued,

The Roadmap is the flavour of the month. But it won’t always be so. Much can happen in the next few years which would change the paradigm. The US is in retreat but it doesn’t want to retreat from the ME. It may well decide not to force retreat on Israel. There are other solutions that it may develop an appetite for.
