This is a complete defeat for Israel. What the hell is a guarantee? What are they guaranteeing or are they just witnessing which has no legal significance. Why is Israel making any concessions. Even if Egypt guarantees to stop smuggling , what will happen if they fail to do so? Nothing.
In hindsight, it was a mistake to mobilize troops and threaten to invade. Now Israel feels the pressure to invade or accept a lousy deal. So if Israel had simply contended itself with trading bombing for rockets, she would feel no pressure to accept a ceasefire. As long as the rockets keep coming she keeps bombing. For that matter we could use less expensive artillery. There is an equivalence to firing rockets and firing artillery. She could give notice to the residents in a certain block of the city, then lay waste to it and so on.
A ceasefire between Israel and Gaza could go into effect “within several hours”, according to a Monday night report by the Al-Arabiya network.
The report said that the forum of nine senior Israeli ministers was expected to approve an initial outline for a ceasefire with Hamas.
According to the outline offered by Egypt and described in the report, Israel will stop the air strikes on Gaza and stop the targeted killings of senior members of Hamas and other terrorist organizations in Gaza, in exchange for a complete cessation of the rocket fire into Israel.
The outline also says that if the ceasefire lasts for a period of 24 hours, Israel will consider steps to ease the naval blockade on Gaza.
In addition, the report said, Egypt will guarantee the ceasefire agreement and when it is signed, it will be in the presence of President Mohammed Morsi or another senior official sent on his behalf.
If we agree with the law of deception (fundamental to Islam and Muslims), this will be again and again a WASTE at the expense of IL.
The minimum is to control the Phil corridor.
IL is giving Obama one chance, but should be surgical and uncompromising if the C/F fail.

I’m finished commenting on this stupid operation. There are nothing but brainless dodos opening their mouths on Israeli TV and radio, whether politicians or media anal-ists. The general Israel populace, the people on the street, think that Iron Dome is such a great innovation. They want more! And they all say that it’s inhuman to pulverize the enemy, even at the expense of our own soldiers (my children!) and the suffering of a million people getting heart attacks while taking cover in 15 seconds or less. A whole country off its rocker.

No one really expects this ceasefire to do anything but buy Israel a few years’ respite.
A cease-fire does not address the real problem: an enemy regime left battered but still standing in Gaza.
