Why Trump’s rejection of the Paris accord is so important

By Ted Belman

Pres Trump just pulled America out of the Paris Accord. He avoided, throughout the whole speech, of any mention of the science debate. His case doesn’t rest on debunking the science. He simply made the point, as he did with TPP, that the agreement is bad for American workers.

This agreement was an albatross around America’s neck making it more difficult for it to compete with other nations. No wonder China, India and Russia and most other countries joined.

Also the thrust of this agreement was wealth redistribution.

Finally it restricted American sovereignty making it subject to the will of others. Just like the nations of Europe lost their sovereignty to the EU so would America lose its sovereignty to the international community.

In fact while the Europeans and the Arabs are quite happy to rely on America for defense, they try to bring America to heel will the imposition of “international law”. For instance they are trying to pass blasphemy resolutions at the UN which would require all its member states, including the US, to pass the same laws in Congress. There were also UN initiatives that would require the US to abandon its Second Amendment.

It is imperative that the US preserve its sovereignty by resisting the calls, both domestic and international, to relinquish it. When the US chooses to enter a Treaty which would be binding on all signatories thereto, the US constitution rightfully requires the Senate to approve with at least a 2/3 majority before the Treaty is ratified.

By withdrawing from this agreement, Trump is making America great again.

  1. Go back and review Trump’s speech again. He did attempt (feebly) to undermine the science by his claim that we were talking about 0.2°C. He did not make so much fuss about wealth distribution as you did.
However, the whole issue is about government and the US is supposed to give up theirs to some unnamed body who will take over government of the whole world. I doubt Russia or Chine are interested in that aspect of the Paris accords, not to speak of the EU.

  2. /This may also be the end of the control of the country by the elite for the elite and a STOP to the socialization of America by the left/far left that has been using the US Security Services against the American people.

  3. It is also at last the beginning of the end, hopefully, of the control of the American people by a corrupted elitocracy mainly from the left. It all started at the end of Eisenhower presidency and the left (truly socialist) has been working patiently to erode and make the US Constitution IRRELEVANT. After eight years of Obama acting by fiats, the last evidence is the use by Obama of the US Security Services to prevent anyone but a socialist to win the presidency. But America was lucky! Will that luck last! The Republican elite is still on the side of the Elite and not on the side of the American people.
