How the Turks deceived the Americans on Syria

Op-ed: The US simply joined the Russian-Turkish party in Syria, essentially allowing Assad’s rule to continue—at least for now—and Iran and Hezbollah to establish their hold on the war-battered country. This is the worst possible outcome for Israel.

The Americans are now selling out the Syrian Kurds to the Turks—but we’ve already gotten used to their cynical foreign policy. What Israel is having a hard time getting used to, however, is the fact its biggest ally is completely disregarding Israeli interests in the Middle East.

Over the past two years, since the international intervention in Syria began, Western diplomacy has been trying to convince allies in the world to cooperate with the minorities in Syria. Alongside the Kurds and Druze, who are the two larger minority groups, there are other ethnic-religious groups in Syria who are demanding autonomy.

Vladimir Putin and the Shiite Axis

Russia’s new military alliance with Iran is all about keeping Assad in power and America on its back foot. But marriages of convenience usually don’t last.

BY ANNA BORSHCHEVSKAYA, FOREIGN POLICY

On Aug. 16, Russian bombers took off from Shahid Nojeh air base near the Iranian city of Hamadan reportedly to bomb Islamic State targets in Syria. The fact that the Russian air force had based planes inside Iran was not only a surprise to American diplomats — it was news to many Iranian officials as well. While State Department spokesman Mark Toner said the Russian action may have violated a U.N. Security Council resolution, 20 Iranian legislators demanded a closed session of parliament to discuss why Iran had allowed foreign forces to base themselves in the country for the first time since World War II.

Has Israeli defense minister changed IDF’s West Bank strategy?

Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman’s plan for Palestinian towns and villages in the West Bank is already being implemented, even before its official launch.

By Shlomi Eldar, al MONITOR

On Aug. 17, Liberman presented a plan to deal with Palestinian terrorism by dividing Palestinian towns and villages into “green” ones whose residents have abstained from terror activity and “red” for those whose residents have engaged in attacks against Israelis. Israel would deal with the “red” ones with an iron fist, whereas the “green” ones would enjoy economic benefits and goodwill gestures.

US Syrian policy is based on US desire to accommodate Iran

The White House’s failure to stop the ongoing slaughter perpetrated by the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad stems from President Barack Obama’s “desire to accommodate Iran” so that last year’s nuclear deal will extend past his administration, the president’s former top Syria adviser charged in an analysis on Monday.

Frederic Hof, formerly Obama’s special adviser for transition in Syria and currently the director of the Atlantic Council’s Rafik Hariri Center for the Middle East, faulted the Obama administration for failing to have “defended a single Syrian civilian from the Assad-Russia-Iran onslaught.”

Why is Iran protecting Fordow with S-300 batteries?

THE DAILY TIP

Iran’s placement of the advanced Russian S-300 missile defense system at its underground nuclear complex in Fordow, which the nuclear deal banned from being used for nuclear enrichment, indicates the continued importance of the site despite the deal’s limitations, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Tal Inbar, the head of the Space and UAV Research Center at the Fisher Institute for Air and Space Strategic Studies in Herzliya, said that by deploying the S-300s at Fordow, Iran was “poking a finger in the eye of the West.” The Iranians “could have put it at the Bushehr nuclear power plant, which produces electricity and is civilian – Bushehr could not produce nuclear bombs,” Inbar continued. “They could have placed it symbolically at a military base in Iran, for example.” Fordow, the expert explained, “is not just another site. It is where the Iranians developed mechanisms for nuclear detonation, where the nuclear ‘physics package’ was developed.”

Erdogan tells US: Stop backing the Kurds

DEBKA

US-Turkish discord over the Turkish army’s onslaught on the Kurds of northern Syria reached a new low Wednesday, Aug. 30, when the presidential palace spokesman Ibrahim Kalin said in Ankara: “The US must revise its policy of supporting Kurdish forces.”

The demand came after a senior US official called on “all the armed actors in the fight against the Islamic State in northern Syria to stand down,” in an effort to contain the new conflict dragging northern Syria into further chaos.

The call was addressed equally to Ankara to freeze its military operations in Syria and to the Kurdish PYD-YPG militia to halt the flow of fraternal reinforcements for defending Mabij, the Syrian town the militia wrested from ISIS earlier this month with US assistance.

Soros’ “Islamophobia” Plot Against “The Right” Revealed

By:Matthew Vadum, (FrontPageMag.com)

soros3Radical left-wing billionaire George Soros developed a strategy five years ago to publicly disparage, delegitimize, and marginalize conservatives like David Horowitz who go to great pains to warn Americans about the threat posed by political Islam and the ongoing Islamization of the U.S.

It is part of the Left’s push to create an alternate reality in which world temperatures claimed to be rising at an imperceptibly slow rate pose more of a threat to mankind than militants flying commercial jetliners into skyscrapers.

Soros is a foreign-born atheist who as a 14-year-old collaborated with the Nazis in occupied Hungary, describing that time as “probably the happiest year of my life” and “a very positive experience.” He has described himself as “some kind of god, the creator of everything,” and has said his “goal” was “to become the conscience of the world.”

Settlement building ‘surged’ in recent months — UN envoy

T. Belman. “Earmarked for a Palestinian state” by whom? Certainly not Israel. Israel does not hold these lands on trust for the Arabs yet the international community wants to force Israel to do just that.

The UNSC resolution in 1979 calling settlements illegal, was ultra vires the Charter of the UN and therefor has no validity. The purpose of the UN is to keep the peace and not to decide what is legal. Pres Reagan disagreed with this resolution and with Pres Carter and called the settlements “illegitimate” rather than illegal. There is a big difference.

During the second intafadah in 2001, Sen Mitchell visited Israel on a fact finding mission and he recommended that Israel stop settlement construction and the Arabs stop the violence, thus linking the two. The US put this recommendation in the Roadmap and ever since has tried to make it binding on Israel. Neither this recommendation nor the Roadmap is binding but the international community would have you believe that it is illegal for Israel to build settlements or that Israel is committed to refrain from building them. Neither is true.

Quartet’s calls to halt construction in East Jerusalem and West Bank ignored by Jerusalem, peace process coordinator says

Settlement construction has “surged” in the two months since the diplomatic Quartet called for a halt to the construction of Jewish outposts on Palestinian land, a UN envoy said Monday. His statement was rejected by an Israeli government spokesman.

Burkini Bans and Jewish Democracy

By Evelyn Gordon, COMMENTARY

Image result for BURKINIS

The ban on wearing burkinis at the beach, which was recently enacted by some 30 French municipalities and even won support from French Prime Minister Manual Valls, was rightly deemed an unconstitutional infringement on several fundamental liberties by France’s highest court this weekend. Yet the French controversy highlights something about Israel that is too often overlooked: the degree to which being a Jewish state, far from undermining Israel’s democracy, actually reinforces it.

My Money Is on a Trump Victory

by HEATHER R. HIGGINS, NATIONAL REVIEW,  August 29, 2016 4:00 AM

Trump’s voters (and many are staying mum) are well aware of his flaws and might carry him to victory anyway. For what it is worth: Nothing is ever certain, and much could go wrong, but my money remains on a Trump victory. Why?

1) It feels a whole lot like Reagan in ’80 and Newt in ’94.

Reagan was disliked by the establishment (who liked Baker or Bush), viewed with suspicion by professional conservatives (they liked Phil Crane, not a divorced, former Democrat, big-spending governor), and regarded with condescension by the media and the Left (who saw him as stupid and as a dangerous cowboy). Those camps could not fathom the breadth and depth of his popular momentum.

All-out Turkish-Kurd war. Barazani goes to Tehran

DEBKAfile Special Report

An all-out Turkish-Kurdish war has boiled over in northern Syria since the Turkish army crossed the border last Wednesday, Aug. 24 for the avowed aim of fighting the Islamic State and pushing the Syrian Kurdish YPG militia back. Instead of falling back, the Kurds went on the offensive and are taking a hammering. This raging confrontation has stalled the US-led coalition offensive against ISIS and put on indefinite hold any US plans for campaigns to drive the jihadists out of their Syrian and Iraqi capitals of Raqqa and Mosul.

“U.S.-Russia-Syria-Iran-Turkey-Israel: The Techtonic Policy Shift”..

“U.S.-Russia-Syria-Iran-Turkey-Israel: The Techtonic Policy Shift” by Lisa Benson Radio Show

Listen to this compelling, yet disturbing Lisa Benson Show with guests Shoshana Bryen of The Jewish Policy Center and best selling author and investigative journalist Ken Timmerman. The round table discussion reveals the duplicity of Turkey, with Russia and US complicity in Syria throwing the Kurds under the bus gutting the War against ISIS.

The discussion revealed the Obama Administration abandoning the Persian Gulf to Iran, destabilizing the world’s energy supply, getting ready to withdraw US Naval assets, and avoiding Congressional appropriation authorities by paying Tehran with $1.3 billion from a State Department “slush fund” possibly via the Swiss Central Bank.Listen to the broadcast and share it widely as this is not being covered by mainstream media in the run up to the Presidential campaign foreign policy debate.

The number of Israeli Arab teachers working in Jewish state schools has increased by 40% in recent years to reach 588 in the last school year, up from 420 just three years ago, the Walla news website reported Monday.

The jump is the result of an Education Ministry program to integrate Arab teachers of English, mathematics and science, among other subjects, into Jewish schools, reducing the surplus of teachers in the Arab sector and promoting coexistence.

If the establishment wins, America loses.

By Don Frederick
Feb 20/16

“Who is Donald Trump?” The better question may be, “What is Donald Trump?”

The answer? A giant middle finger from average Americans to the political and media establishment.

Some Trump supporters are like the 60’s white girls who dated black guys just to annoy their parents. But most Trump supporters have simply had it with the Demo-socialists and the “Republicans In Name Only.” They know there isn’t a dime’s worth of difference between Hillary Rodham and Jeb Bush, and only a few cents worth between Rodham and the other GOP candidates.

No contest: GOP is the pro-Israel party

Bipartisan support for the Jewish state is a fallacy: Republicans embrace Israel as an ally, Democrats do not

By Jeff Ballabon and Bruce Abramson, TOI

WASHINGTON (JTA) — For years, the leaders of America’s most established Jewish organizations – AIPAC chief among them — have assured their members that when it came to Israel, there wasn’t much difference between the Democratic and Republican parties. Even suggesting that control of the White House or Congress might matter to the US-Israel relationship was taboo, often decried as “anti-Israel” if not “anti-Semitic.”

The 2016 platform debates and conventions have shattered this outlandish insistence that in our hyperpartisan era, Israel policy somehow managed to remain neutral territory. It is now indisputable that the parties have radically different views of Israel.

US, Russia agree on preserving Syria’s territorial unity, reject Kurdish Rojava project

T. Belman. The Kurds are getting screwed. While most analysts call for a breakup of Syria, evidently Russia and the US want to keep it whole. Since the challenge is to create a Syrian government for a population which is 80% Sunni. How is this government going to control Islamist forces. On the other hand if the country is broken up, the Islamists will be in charge of the Sunni state.

This is a serious betrayal of the Kurds who have been doing most of the fighting and winning against ISIS.

Remember that both Russia and the US have rejected Israel’s annexation of the Golan and have said that the fate of Golan will be determined in a peace agreement with Syria.

US, Russia agree on preserving Syria’s territorial unity, reject Kurdish Rojava project

KOBANE – U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov discussed Syria including the Kurdish issue for more than 12 hours, finishing this Saturday.

While Russia says Kurds should be included in future Syria talks, the United States says they do not support an independent Kurdish initiative.

“We are for a united Syria. We do not support an independent Kurd initiative,” Kerry said.

Nietzsche: Why the Left is Allied with Islam

By Prof. Paul Eidelberg

Before exposing the alliance between the Left and Islam, which is evident among left-wing academics in America, ponder Nietzsche’s exposé of the nexus of socialism and individualism. Here are his penetrating remarks:

Socialism is merely a means of agitation employed by individualism: it grasps that to attain anything, one must organize to a collective action, to a “power.” But what it desires is not a social order as the goal of the individual but a social order as a means of making possible many [mediocre] individuals. This is the instinct of socialists about which they frequently deceive themselves … The preaching of altruistic morality in the service of individualism: one of the most common lies of the nineteenth century. [The Will to Power (New York: Random House, 1967), pp. 411-412, W. Kaufmann, trans.
