@ Edgar G.:
Yes, under Obama’s leadership, the democrats coddled Iran, Saudi Arabia and the Muslim Brotherhood. It was only when Saudi Arabia became part of the U.S./Israel/Saudi anti-Iran alliance that they became anti-Saudi. The regime that preceded the present one was a lot worse but they said nothing. Remember when Obama bypassed Israel and went to Mecca, where he kissed the King’s ring, shortly after being elected in 2008, giving a speech from there in which he said Israel was merely compensation for the Holocaust?
You also have to take into account that he was strongly and deeply involved with the Muslim Brotherhood. All the fuss kicked up aboutn his well deserved end, is hypocritical and tendentious.
It hadn’t occurred to me that the killing of Kashoggi might have been an effort to frame MBS by Islamist factions inside and outside Saudi Arabia, but it makes a lot of sense. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Erdogan was in on it.
