HAMAS HAS AGREED TO A U.S.-BROKERED CEASEFIRE, FOLLOWING THE TRUMP–PUTIN SUMMIT IN ALASKA
Russia influenced Russia with the promise of smoothing economic ties with Washington, Beijing leaned hard on its allies in Tehran and the Muslim Brotherhood to get Hamas to agree. Hamas is officially the “Palestine Chapter of Jordan’s Muslim Brotherhood,” reporting directly to the Jordanian “king’s” intelligence services.
The 60 day truce comes with the option of being extended into a permanent ceasefire “under President Trump’s sponsorship and specific conditions.”
Hamas backed off its long-standing demand for a full Israeli pullout from Gaza after Washington made it clear: “The Israelis are not going anywhere.”
Under the deal, Hamas will free 10 Israeli hostages in stages and return 15 bodies within 45 days.
In exchange, Israel will release hundreds of Palestinian prisoners after Hamas dropped its insistence on specific high-profile names.
Humanitarian and food aid to Gaza will also expand, routed through the U.S.-based Gaza Humanitarian Foundation and delivered via Israel’s Kerem Shalom crossing.

Will Bibi go for this with the increasing pressure in Tel Aviv? We know and he knows that this is NOT a good step. It is simply a delaying tactic by Hamas to regroup at no cost to themselves. They will still retain 10 hopefully live hostages and another 15 dead.

I hope Bibi stands his ground, but I am not convinced that he will.

The lifesblood of politics is compromise if needed. I see that the PM will be tough but maybe compromise in a way to satisfy Hamad braggadocio but give away very little.

To your credit, the prime minister’s office released a statement several hours ago indicating Bibi remains adamant about no partial deals. So, good call.
