Shocking Figures of Number of Palestinian Jordanians by Mudar Zahran

Peloni: The importance of the number of Jordanian Palestinians can not be overstated.  The Hashemite monarchy prefers to limit this number to try to validate their rule over this Arab Palestinian state.  Mudar Zahran explains the number is actually quite high.

Today we want to talk about the great illusion — the illusion that the Hashemite regime has taken as a pretext to sow division between Jordanians and to treat the people of the land as Shia and to turn Jordan into a Hashemite farm by means of divide-and-rule.

How many Palestinians are in Jordan? First of all we all know that Jordan — the Hashemite regime — is an apartheid state that discriminates strongly between its citizens, but this is the way the Hashemites play. This statement is mentioned clearly in a report of the American embassy in Amman that was
leaked via WikiLeaks. It says in it about the appointment of the called Nader Al-Dhahabi and his brother Muhammad Al-Dhahabi to the posts of prime minister and director of intelligence, and they frankly mention (and I quote verbatim) that the Hashemites are a non-Jordanian family, and therefore they play the role that they are the guarantors between the different tribes — of course the tribes of Palestinian origin, the tribes of Jordanian origin, tribes of Circassian origin — meaning in other words that the Hashemites are outsiders; their game is through division.

So how many Palestinians in Jordan who are the most persecuted and most discriminated against?
Come, let us look at the report that was issued by the American embassy in Amman.

The report was issued in 2008; it says verbatim that most Palestinians or the larger part of Palestinians are not registered with UNRWA. Now whatever your origin according to the Hashemite racist classification — whatever your origin — how many Jordanians of Palestinian origin do you know are registered with UNRWA?
No one registers with UNRWA except in extreme necessity because people fear that their nationality will be withdrawn or that they will be treated as more persecuted on top of being oppressed and wronged by the regime.

In any case the American embassy report issued 2008 tells you the number of Palestinians — sorry — the number of Palestinians registered with UNRWA is about 1,900,000, and these are barely half the real number; meaning the real number exceeds 4 million. Let it be 4 million only — 4 million only in 2008 according to the Department of Statistics. All those present in Jordan including foreign workers and residents and others were about 5,800,000 and a bit — 5,800,000 of whom according to Jordanian government reports half a million are Iraqis.

You prefer to see the report according to the World Bank that Jordan receives 3.6 million annually who visit as tourists, students, etc., patients — meaning at any moment in Jordan there are 300,000 tourists or non-Jordanian visitors. And according to the Jordanian Ministry of Labor we have 400,000 migrant workers. When you calculate the number the figure comes out — in short when you add them without many accounting complications it comes out that the remaining Jordanians excluding Palestinians are about 600 to 650 thousand — 650,000. According to this number the proportion of Jordanians of Palestinian origin exceeded 85%.

But the truth is still stronger than that. A few days ago came upon us Baba the so-called Ali Baba who calls himself king over the Jordanians — he gave an interview with the BBC. His interview with the BBC was published by the BBC and mentioned an important report. What does the report say?  The report mentioned that Jordan received 2.3 million Palestinian refugees over the years — 2.3 million Palestinian refugees over different decades.

2.3 million Palestinians came to Jordan or to East Palestine according to the BBC over different decades — 2.3 million meaning they came from 1948 to 1967. If we calculate population growth — if you went for example to ChatGPT I told it to ignore from ’48 so the number wouldn’t be larger — let it be only from ’67.   3 million from ’67 — what would the number be now? The number now reaches 11,300,000.

That means when the Jordanian population according to the Department of Statistics for the month of only April of last year was 11,850,000, if Jordanians of Palestinian origin are 95% — did you grasp the reality of the injustice and the apartheid that is happening in Jordan? Did you understand the feeling of the Jordanian majority of Palestinian origin who have no representation in the government, who barely have nine deputies in a parliament that is in fact a fake chamber belonging to the regime? Did you grasp it when the Jordanian of Palestinian origin has no presence even on television, even in the press, as if they are an illusion that does not exist? Did you grasp the magnitude of suffering in a land which according to international law and the League of Nations’ recognition is East Palestine — 78% of Mandatory Palestine?

So a Jordanian of Palestinian origin even by Jordanian law is an original citizen, not a naturalized one; on the contrary the only stranger is the Hashemite who adds to that — here appears the big illusion. There are people like the theorists of the intelligence whom you know, some of them dead and some of them alive, who tell you we do not want Palestinization — understand the magnitude of the illusion you are living in or being made to live in by the regime.

According to another report from the government to the American embassy in Amman leaked via WikiLeaks, the former prime minister, Bisher Al-Khasawneh — this man was in 2008 not a prime minister; he later became prime minister, he was the chief negotiator of the Foreign Ministry and responsible for the most important file which is the American and European file — what did he tell the American embassy in Amman? He told them: “We are pragmatic and we know that they will not return and that the word ‘we dropped the right of return’ is basically from our negotiations.” This is what someone who became prime minister of Jordan said. So when we talk the regime talks about the right of return and the regime talks about the homeland — the regime lies to you to enslave you.
About what Jordanian identity and about what homeland are you talking, brother? The East Jordanian and you the West Jordanian — who are the two biggest oppressed? The rule is for a small group like Rania and her people and others — these and their clients. What do you have in your country more than a guard in your country who retired on 280 or 400 dinars and I don’t know what else comes out for you sitting in the country? All that comes out for you is that the regime humiliates and degrades you and in the end tells you raise the Jordanian flag and dance.

So my brother, partner, beloved, kinsman, son of my country, whatever your origin — East Jordanian, West Jordanian, of Palestinian origin, northern, southern, Circassian, Chechen, Christian, atheist, Muslim — look at your condition in the country. Is there a country under an identity when the country becomes an open temple for the worship of a person Ali Baba and his gang, the Hashemites, whose members do not exceed a few individuals — barely 30 people — while you fight for an identity that does not exist and the regime laughs at everyone?

As for you the Jordanian of Palestinian origin your message is special and closer to the heart: you are more than 95% of the Jordanian people. You are enslaved by one Hashemite and you allow one family ostracized and expelled from the Hijaz to enslave you, you tolerate them, they starve you and make you feel that you are a stranger and deprive you of education and of life and, most importantly, of dignity.

Our peaceful uprising by peaceful means is a sacred duty.

Comprehensive change by peaceful means, no violence. Very soon, very very soon — long live the Jordanian republic and long live the great Jordanian people.

  1. The following explains who are the ONLY people to whom the land of Eretz Yisrael is the true ancestral homeland for, and how “Palestine” came into the picture as well, with solid corroborating evidence:

  2. Thank you for this analysis. I now offer another to go along with it, which will singe some long time fantasies regarding “Palestine” which somehow have made “Palestinians” some other ethnicity of people than other Arabs, so to use that argument to deny Jews rights to the only ancestral homeland they’ve ever known over the past 4 millennia, despite periods of forced exile by various imperial powers.
