Peloni: And of course, this is not just true in Canada… Moral courage has not been weaponized against the Jewish state, used to threaten the lives and livelihoods of Diaspora Jew, while distorting the truth to dehumanize the Israeli state. All of this, and so much more which could fill an encyclopedia, are the actions of antisemites as the Old Hatred is being normalized and popularized with the help of useful idiots and the careful support of moral corruption and cowardice which resides too comfortably in political leaders around the world.
As Iran’s regime reportedly kills thousands of its own citizens, the silence from Canada’s self-styled human rights movement reveals a double standard rooted in antisemitism.

Winnipeg — At least 2,000 protesters are believed to have been killed in Iran over just 48 hours as the Islamic Republic unleashed one of the bloodiest crackdowns in its modern history.
And in Canada, the silence has been deafening.
There have been no mass marches.
No packed downtown streets.
No tents on university lawns.
No megaphones.
No slogans.
No outrage.
When Jews are not involved, the so-called human rights movement looks the other way.
This is not indifference.
It is antisemitism.
———-
Iran’s security forces moved swiftly after nationwide protests erupted on December 28 amid deepening economic despair and long-standing opposition to the regime.
The response was immediate and lethal.
Internet access was cut.
Foreign journalists were barred.
Hospitals were placed under surveillance.
Iran International, citing informed sources and eyewitness accounts, reported that even the most conservative estimates place the death toll at at least 2,000 killed in just two days.
Medical sources described hospitals overwhelmed with bodies.
Witnesses reported live ammunition being fired into crowds.
Despite the danger, protests continue.
People are dying for freedom.
And Canada’s activist class is nowhere to be found.
———-
Contrast that with Gaza.
Just weeks ago, tens of thousands flooded Toronto’s streets to denounce Israel. Similar protests swept Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, and dozens of other cities.
Marchers accused Israel of genocide.
They blocked streets.
They occupied campuses.
They shouted.
They demanded action.
And now, as the Iranian regime murders its own people in the streets, those same voices have gone silent.
This is not a coincidence.
This is what “No Jews, No News” looks like in real time.
———-
Human rights organizations have issued carefully worded statements.
Amnesty International expressed “alarm.”
Human Rights Watch documented a few dozen deaths.
But there has been no sustained mobilization.
No emergency UN sessions.
No celebrity campaigns.
No moral urgency.
The UN Security Council, which rushed to convene repeatedly to condemn Israel over Gaza, has taken no comparable action on Iran.
Israel’s UN spokesperson Jonathan Harounoff said it plainly: the Council will move quickly to condemn Israel, but remains silent when Iran slaughters its own citizens.
The double standard is no longer subtle.
It is institutional.
———-
Inside Iran, protesters understand exactly what is happening.
A chant echoing through Iranian streets says everything the West refuses to hear:
“Neither Gaza nor Lebanon, I sacrifice my life for Iran.”
Iranians are explicitly rejecting the regime’s obsession with funding terror groups like Hamas and Hezbollah while abandoning its own people.
They are risking death to say their struggle is about freedom, dignity, and Iran itself.
And yet, the global activist movement that claims to stand for justice has no time for them.
Why?
Because their oppressor is not Jewish.
———-
This selective outrage has a name.
It is antisemitism dressed up as human rights.
It is the belief that Jewish self-defense is uniquely criminal, while Islamist tyranny is excusable, ignorable, or even admirable.
It is why activists scream “genocide” when Israel defends itself, but avert their eyes when Iran executes protesters en masse.
It is why Jewish institutions are targeted, while Iranian embassies remain untouched.
It is why Israel is always the villain, and Jews are always suspects.
———-
Canada’s Jewish and pro-Israel community has been warning about this for years.
The same movements that claim to oppose hate routinely tolerate antisemitic slogans, intimidation, and violence when directed at Jews.
Now, their silence on Iran confirms what many already knew.
Their outrage was never about human rights.
It was about Jews.
———-
Iranian-Canadians are pleading for solidarity.
At a recent Montreal rally, demonstrators begged Canadians to pay attention.
“The regime is killing Iranians,” one organizer said. “We need your support.”
They marched.
They spoke.
They risked retaliation.
They were ignored.
Meanwhile, politicians issue statements, condemn violence, and move on.
Without public pressure, words mean nothing.
———-
Let us be clear.
If 2,000 Palestinians had been killed in 48 hours, Canada’s streets would be on fire with protest.
If Israel were responsible, the accusations would be endless.
But when Jews are not involved, the moral urgency evaporates.
That is not compassion.
That is prejudice.
———-
Iran’s crackdown may rival or exceed the regime’s 2019 massacre of protesters.
It is one of the deadliest state responses to dissent in recent memory.
And still, the activists stay home.
For Iranians fighting for freedom, the silence is a betrayal.
For Jews watching this unfold, it is confirmation.
No Jews.
No News.
And that is the truth Canada needs to confront.
