On The Battlefield Or In Academia, The Best Defense Is Often An Offense….

By Gerald A. Honigman

This is especially true for a nation outgunned and outmanned by hundreds of millions of enemies rejecting its very right to exist, and who actively try to end that existence.

I’m referring to that 9-15 mile wide, by 1949 UN-imposed Auschwitz/armistice lines sardine can size nation, Israel, which requires a magnifying glass to locate on  a world globe.

Those lines were drawn up after Israel was immediately attacked in May 1948 by a half dozen Arab armies, including one led by Sir John Bagot Glubb and other  British officers in the Arab Legion of Transjordan, all equipped with huge quantities of allied weaponry left after the Rommel Campaign and other operations in North Africa.

ISRAEL, DEFENDER OF THE FREE WORLD

By Kelleigh Nelson

Before statehood was achieved, Syria and Egypt had their tanks and military equipment lined up to invade Tel Aviv and destroy it; but the Israelis scrambled together an air force, some of it from old Second World War Messerschmidt’s, and the invasion was halted. Steven Spielberg

And if we are honest, we have to make a distinction between a democratic Israel that wants to live in peace and the terrorists who want Israel wiped out. The Israelis were told to give up land for peace; they gave up the land, but got no peace.  J.D. Hayworth

Is a new war brewing in Syria? Sharaa’s strong warning to Israel, ‘stop meddling in Sweida or face…’

Peloni:  Al Julani was given an important opportunity to demonstrate that he had the power and conviction to end the sectarian violence in Syria which has plagued and defined that nation for many decades.  He failed to do so, and when his own forces defied him, he issued vague warnings that violators will be held accountable, rather than providing public displays of such accountability.  Now he is threatening Israel, no doubt to solidify his nation’s long standing sense of opposition to the Jewish state, and placing even greater pressure on those minorities which Israel has offered its support.  Syria needs to recognize the rights of its minorities, focusing upon ending the violence against these groups, not challenging their Israeli neighbors who are in fact extending support to some of these Syrian minorities while they have been attacked with impudence and barbarism under the fledgling and failing leadership of Al Julani.

‘Houthis Will Pay With Compound Interest’

Israeli Navy Responds to Repeated Attacks by Striking Houthi-controlled Power Plant in Yemen

FDD | August 17, 2025

Latest Developments

Israel Strikes Sana’a: The Israeli Navy conducted a long-distance strike against the Houthi-controlled Haziz power station near the Yemeni capital of Sana’a on August 17, responding to “repeated attacks by the Houthi terror regime against the State of Israel and its citizens.” Local media reported large explosions that knocked generators out of service. The Iran-backed Houthis have launched at least seven unanswered ballistic missiles and seven drones against Israel since the last time the IDF struck Houthi targets on July 21.

WARMONGERS: Democrat and Their Media Lapdogs Rabid Over Russia Peace Talks

Peloni:  Not just Democrats…the entire Washington establishment supports this war continuing.

President Donald J. Trump welcomes Russian President Vladimir Putin to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Anchorage, Alaska, August 15, 2025 (By Benjamin D Applebaum – This image was released by the United States Department of Defense with the ID 250815-D-LS763-1028 (next). This tag does not indicate the copyright status of the attached work. The party of war is apoplectic over the prospect of peace between Russia and Ukraine. The meeting was preliminary and productive, but it is soon to assess how formative it will be for an end to the war that Trump is pushing for. Roger Kimball: Trump said that he would rank their discussion as very good—”10 out of 10,” he said. He and Putin came to an agreement about a lot of issues. Some issues remained.

No One From Gaza Should Be Coming to the U.S., Period

Peloni:  Trump’s policy on this point was quite on point during his first administration.  There should be zero tolerance for people coming from areas which are run by terrorists or unable to vet their own citizens as being terrorists…and yet an exception is being made for Gaza, of all regions??

The correct number of Islamic terrorism supporters to be admitted into the United States should be zero.

Concern in Egypt: Trump hasn’t given up on Gaza emigration plan – and this is the ‘reward’ he’s offering

Peloni:  Jordan, under new management of Mudar Zahran, is a much better choice for Gazan emigres.

Munich Betrayal 2.0-Perfidious appeasement will fail yet again

The new version of the Munich betrayal (Munich Betrayal 2.0) is eerily similar to the original one. It is also promoted by the original principal players, France and the UK.

It’s been almost 87 years since the ill-fated Munich Agreement, when the UK and France, ostensible allies and guarantors of the independence of the sovereign country Czechoslovakia, perfidiously abrogated that sacred responsibility.

Douthat on Gaza: A Response to False Moral Equivalence

By Oded J.K. Faran and Walter Block

Ross Douthat’s recent New York Times analysis of the Gaza conflict exemplifies a troubling trend in contemporary commentary: the elevation of false moral equivalence above moral clarity. While Douthat acknowledges Hamas’s atrocities, his analysis fundamentally misunderstands both the nature of this conflict and the unprecedented burdens being placed on Israel.

The Problem with Douthat’s “Just Think It’s True” Standard

Douthat delivers himself of this remarkable admission: “So there is no way to look at the rubble in Gaza and the death-toll estimates and offer a mathematical proof that Israel is failing to exercise adequate restraint. I just think it’s true.” Here lies the fundamental flaw in his entire analysis: when serious moral judgments rest on subjective feelings rather than evidence, journalism becomes ideology.

America’s First Islamic-Controlled City Extending Shiria — Non-Muslim Arrested Over Facebook Post

Peloni:  When will the expansion of Sharia Law be addressed in America?  Why has Pres. Trump not addressed this?  Why has AG Bondi not addressed this?  Where is FBI Director Patel on this subject?  Is America going to follow England, or is it going to maintain liberty over Sharia?  It give me no comfort in writing this, and in fact, the silence in the US regarding the expansion of Sharia from Michigan to Texas to Florida chills me to the bone.  Silence indicates consent, and such consent in the face of expanding Sharia Law can not be permitted.  In the wake of this silence among America’s leaders, Americans everywhere need to speak out about this looming catastrophe before them, and perhaps their leaders will come to follow the lead of the public in speaking out and acting as is already needed.

Gaza Disengagement’s Overlooked Villain

Photo by Eliran t – Own work, CC0, Wikipedia

Twenty years ago exactly, Israel began its disengagement from the Gaza Strip. Every last civilian and soldier would leave the enclave, though evidence of the Jewish communities would remain in the form of greenhouses, roads, and other infrastructure that was gifted to the Palestinians as they began their first serious experiment in independent self-rule.

Here We Go Again – The West’s Palestinian State Fantasy

by Nils A. Haug  •  Gatestone Institute  •  August 17, 2025

A majority of Western leaders clearly refuse to exercise integrity when it concerns the Palestinian issue. Only leaders completely sold out to extremist ideologies would persist in pushing a proposal so far detached from reality and so harmful to many people — starting with the atrociously governed Palestinians — that it is almost beyond comprehension. “Are these people wicked or just very, very stupid?”, asks columnist Melanie Phillips. A valid question indeed. Pictured: 16/06/2025. Kananaskis, Canada. Hostage Protestors Act as Hamas Footsoldiers

Avi Abelow

This morning, the most destructive protest movement in Israeli society reemerged on the streets.

What’s really going on?

Once again, a tiny group of people are causing harm to the whole country and the hostages. (See picture below)

These demonstrations, held under the banner of supporting the hostages, are in reality a left-wing political campaign aimed at toppling the government.
