Will arming Gazan militias against Hamas harm Israel in the long run?

Peloni:  A decisive assault on Gaza followed by fascilitated tranfer of Gazans to Jordan would provide the version of what might be deemed as victory in Gaza.  Arming gangs suggests a long term strategy in Gaza which will obstruct both aspects of victory

Relying on a tribal militia or clan in Gaza may work in the short term. However, in the long term it is unlikely to achieve success.

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN | JUNE 7, 2025

Reports have confirmed that Israel has been arming and apparently supporting or working with armed militias in Gaza. Some reports refer to this group as a “gang.” Others describe the leader of the group, Yasser Abu Shabab, as a member of a large clan in southern Gaza.

There may be more clans being activated or encouraged than just the one linked to Abu Shabab, which is not his real name but rather a nomme de guerre, meaning the full details about this group continue to be shrouded in some mystery. It is therefore hard to know if these groups will become an effective anti-Hamas movement. If they are gangs that are better known for looting and other past crimes than for achieving much now, then they will likely not be embraced by the average person.

Can Israel say ‘No’ to the US?

Peloni:  The threats facing Israel are existential in nature.  There is no choice but to say ‘no’ if dayslight exists between the policy interests of these two allied nations.

History teaches us not to assume support, to stand resolute, and to know our direction. When we are clear – grounded on Earth, not chasing the moon – the US will not block our path.

by  Prof. Eyal Zisser | June 8, 2025

In recent weeks, the strain in Israel–US relations has left many Israelis stunned and unprepared. The belief that the American administration would always support us, or even be in our pocket, shattered loudly as President Donald Trump’s administration took unilateral actions without consulting or gaining Israel’s approval. Some of these moves directly undermine Israel – from the deal with the Houthis in Yemen, giving them a “flashing green light” to fire missiles at Israel, to the warm embrace of former jihadists in Syria, Recep Tayyip Erdo?an, and Qatar, purveyors of hatred and terror in the Middle East, to the rush toward an Iran deal that would leave its nuclear program nearly intact.

National Guard Deployed To LA Amid ICE Raid Riots

Peloni:  It is good to see Trump providing support for the rule of law, thus preventing the staged anarchy which oversaw the radicalization and untold casualties which came from the ‘Summer of Love’ back in 2020.  People have to understand that there is a new sheriff in town, and that he will uphold the laws of the land.

The first members of the National Guard arrived in Los Angeles early Sunday morning, hours after violent riots erupted over federal immigration enforcement actions. The move follows President Donald Trump’s order to deploy 2,000 troops to the city.

Trump doubles down on opposing uranium enrichment, warns of potential strike on Iran

Peloni:  Such strong statments in support of a full ban on enrichment are encouraging, but the encouragement dissipates as Trump’s own negotiators are offering low grade enrichment.  Iran has enriched urainium which are clearly intended for a nuclear weapon.  Thus the must at the very least be stripped of the capability of enriching uranium altogether.  It is the height of incredulity that anyone would try to decieve themselves, or anyone else, that Iran has any purpose of a nuclear program which is not entirely militarily based.  Recognizing this fact, it begs the question as to why is Trump’s team offering Iran the ability to maintain this program, in any form at all.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday doubled down on his opposition to Iranian uranium enrichment, and appeared to warn Tehran of potential strikes on its nuclear facilities if it rejected Washington’s proposed nuclear deal

Peloni:  Are these the values of America which should be recieving public subsidies?

In one sermon, the imam of a city-funded mosque cautions that men may beat their wives, but not “to the extent that they die.”

The city of Plano, a wealthy suburb of Dallas, has handed over $1.2 million to extreme Islamist organizations, including an Islamic center under investigation by state and federal agencies over its alleged plans for a sharia enclave and whose leader advocated the killing of homosexuals; a mosque whose imam permits husbands to beat their wives; and two charities accused of links to foreign terror organizations.

“Free Palestine” + Burned Jews = Motive Unknown

Madeline Brooks:  Terrific article! Keep going. Your point about taking away the badges of these complicit officials needs to be followed up on. Can they also be sued for betraying the public trust? Time to also crack down legally on the MSM for its misrepresentations, if that is possible.

Raped women can have a Me Too moment. Slandered, unprotected Jews can do the same.

Iran Purchases Missile Fuel Materials From China

FDD | June 6, 2025

Latest Developments

  • Iran Orders Missile Fuel Ingredient: Iran has ordered thousands of tons of a key ingredient in ballistic missile fuel from China as it seeks to rebuild its missile arsenal and those of its various terrorist proxies throughout the Middle East. According to a June 5 report in The Wall Street Journal, the Iranian Pishgaman Tejarat Rafi Novin Co. recently ordered a large shipment of ammonium perchlorate from Hong Kong-based Lion Commodities Holdings Ltd., sufficient to provide fuel for an estimated 800 ballistic missiles. The Chinese Foreign Ministry denied being aware of the contract, saying that it strictly controls the export of “dual-use items.”

‘I don’t feel safe in America anymore’

Cookie Schwaeber-Issan | All Israel News | June 5, 2025

Given that a man shouted out, “Free Palestine” as he began to set Jews on fire, who had assembled with their pro-Israel group, “Run for Their Lives,” calling for the release of Israeli hostages, it seems odd that American law enforcement would claim to be investigating the possibility of this attack being antisemitically motivated.

The vibrant community of Boulder, CO, where the incident occurred, is home to an estimated 35,000 Jews, up from the 19,000 of a decade ago. It is now the site of an antisemitic terror attack perpetrated by an Egyptian national, illegal alien who had been admitted into the country under the Biden administration, per DHS (Department of Homeland Security) officials, according to a report from Breitbart News.

When free speech turns violent

The normalization of anti-Jewish rhetoric undermines universal principles of equality and human dignity.

Sarah N. Stern | June 5, 2025

A Rubicon has been crossed. As so often has happened to the Jewish people throughout history, the hateful words that have been delivered in academia, on the media and in town halls by certain politicians have resulted in violent atrocities on Jews in Washington, D.C., and in Boulder, Colo.

Somehow, the words “From the river to the sea, Palestine should be free” have become an acceptable part of the American lexicon.

The US and Israel are allies Thomas Friedman to the contrary not withstanding

By Walter E. Block

Thomas Friedman of the New York Times is at it again. He represents the same Newspaper of Record that bought us Walter Duranty, famous for assuring the public that Stalin was a pretty good guy, in the midst of his infamous mass murders. What pray tell is Friedman’s message for us plebians today?

It is that Israel is not a good ally of the United States. Why ever not? This is due to the fact that the only civilized country in the Middle East does not welcome the Gazans as neighbors. Instead, this world class journalist avers that the Jewish state seeks to expand, to take over the enclave located immediately to the west of it, plus Judea, Samaria, which he mistakenly labels as the “West Bank.” Even more egregiouys Israel does not relish the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) as a partner in a two state solution.

MTG Rails Against 10-Year Moratorium On AI Regulation Included In ‘Big, Beautiful Bill’

Peloni:  How is it that there is so little uproar over this 17-line amendment to the Federal system in the US around the vital topic of regulating AI?  It is impossible to consider how this passage was added to the bill, unless we consider the reality that those who themselves would face state level regulations are actually writing the regualtions.  We call this sort of carve out by self interest regulatory capture, and it was expected that this sort of self dealing was to be eliminated by Trump’s return to Washington, not reinforcing it.  This passage must be removed from any legislation being considered before the Congress.

The Courts Now Officially Run the Trump Administration

Peloni:  The supremacy of Judicial tyrants will only grow greater in the face of capitulating to their outrageous efforts of overreach, something which first took form in Israel, but is now being practiced around the world to provide Leftist-Marxist-Jihadists with an unmatched power over the public in nations which were once considered to be democracies but are being not too subtly morphed into juristocracies.

‘What’s bad about it?’ – Israeli PM Netanyahu defends arming Gaza gangs to fight Hamas

Peloni:  The reckless moves towards open sedition continue to emerge from the opposition.  Israel is caught in a war against an existential enemy across 9 fronts simultaneously.  Regardless of the objections which might be raised against this or other policies, the ruling govt must be able to rely upon the character of the opposition and its members to be that of a loyal opposition and not that of a conspiratorial cabal intent upon using any and every pretext by which to replace unity around victory with isurrection and open betrayal.  It is a fine line to walk in disclosing sensitive confidential material, a line which must become all the more tenuos when that material might affect operational success during a war of survival such as Israel is facing today.

‘It’s only good, saves lives of IDF soldiers,’ Netanyahu says

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continued to defend his decision to arm militias in Gaza, which was leaked by Yisrael Beiteinu party chairman, Avigdor Liberman, on Thursday and was met with widespread criticism.

For most Americans, the date June 6th, is mostly remembered for the American and Allied invasion of France marking the beginning of the end of Nazi domination over Europe. The attack involved 3,000,000 men, 11,000 planes and 4,000 ships. For us in Israel and many Jewish communities throughout the world, June 6th is remembered as a day of miracles for the Jewish nation.
