Hawley to Introduce Bill Making It Easier to Sue Big Tech Firms Over Political Bias
By JACK CROWE, NATIONAL REVIEW

The bill would make firms like Facebook, Youtube, and Google legally liable for user-generated content, unless and until they can demonstrate that their content moderation processes are unaffected by political bias.
“This legislation simply states that if the tech giants want to keep their government-granted immunity, they must bring transparency and accountability to their editorial processes and prove that they don’t discriminate,” Hawley said in a news release.

I need your financial support.
Whether you know it or not, running my blog and promoting certain attitudes and policies is a full-time job. And I have been doing it for 17 years.
First and foremost, for the last two years I have been working with Mudar Zahran to promote the Jordan Option. We expect our efforts to be crowned with success within the next couple of months.
The Jordan Option, plain and simple
The Jordanian Option is the only game in town.
This will prove to be the biggest game changer in the Middle East since the Six Day War.
It will herald in the end of the Arab-Israeli conflict. The Palestinians will be incentivized to emigrate to Jordan and elsewhere. Israel will be sovereign over all lands to the west of the Jordan River and perhaps, including Gaza as well. In time, Jordan will be called Palestine.
I urge you to become a partner in achieving this historic change by donating HERE.
If you propose to make a donation $200 USD or more and wish to receive a US tax receipt, kindly advise. (tbelman3@gmail.com) and I will tell you where to donate.

EU ‘ready to work’ with US on peace plan, as long as it aims at two states
IF THE EU INSISTS ON THE OLD PARAMETERS, THERE’S NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT
In Washington, Mogherini tells Pompeo the union views survival of Iran nuclear deal as ‘key to preserving stability and security in the region’
The European Union on Wednesday signaled willingness to cooperate with the US administration’s effort to broker an Israeli-Palestinian peace deal, as long as it includes a clear commitment to the two-state solution and other internationally endorsed parameters.
Federica Mogherini, the EU’s foreign policy czar, during a meeting in Washington Tuesday with Jared Kushner, a senior adviser to US President Donald Trump, “underlined the fundamental interest of the European Union for lasting and sustainable peace and stability in the region,” according to a readout of the meeting provided by Brussels.
“In this context, the EU is ready to work with the US administration on the basis of its longstanding position, including the commitment to a negotiated two-state solution and agreed international parameters.”

“Shall we stand idly by? The rape of Dinah
The Torah tells us how Shimon and Levi dealt with the rape of their sister Dina by the prince of Shechem. They did not kill Dina as the Muslim world does today; they killed Dina’s rapist instead–and, for good measure, his entire male family.
By Prof. Phyllis Chesler,INN
otaynu?” (Bereshit 34:31). This is what Shimon and Levi, sons of the Patriarch Ya’akov tell their distraught and disapproving father after they have rescued Dina by destroying the city of Shechem–the guilty and the innocent alike–all because its prince has kidnapped and raped their sister Dina. I translate their brief but fiery words this way: Shall we stand idly by while our sister is treated like a prostitute?
It is a question that stands for all time. The question is still here, it awaits an answer from each generation. Shall we stand idly by as women are raped– even as we judge Shimon and Levi harshly for engaging in “overkill”? Do we stand idly by as women are forced into prostitution by dire poverty and abuse, or, like Dina, are kidnapped, forced into marriages against their will, trafficked to foreign countries and chained to brothel walls?

Iran Seeks to Build International Alliance Against U.S. Pressure
Tehran tries to capitalize on the U.S.’s struggles to build support for its ‘maximum pressure’ campaign
By Sune Engel Rasmussen in Beirut andAresu Eqbali in Tehran, WSJ
Iran is trying to mobilize an alliance of Russia, China and other countries to help counter a U.S. campaign that has included crippling economic sanctions and thousands of additional troops committed to the Middle East.
They highlight American dominance of the global financial system, which has irked both Russia and China. They also warn against U.S. cyber and psychological warfare, themes that resonate in Moscow and Beijing.
The Iranian effort is on display this week at a summit in the Russian city of Ufa, where security officials from 119 nations have gathered. Among the participants is India, a key economic partner of Tehran, and China, which—along with Russia, Germany, U.K. and France—is party to the 2015 multilateral nuclear deal with Iran that the U.S. exited last year.

Rocket attacks in Iraq, a political ultimatum; *UPDATE* Flying-bomb drones launched at Saudi Arabia

[Warning: autoplay video below (the Fox News video); readers may want to mute audio until they can deal with it. UPDATE is included at bottom of text.]
The place to start updates on the tanker saga near the Strait of Hormuz is a few hundred miles away in Iraq. There, mortar attacks were launched Friday evening at Balad Air Base north of Baghdad (near Tikrit), where a mix of American troops and contractors is stationed. The report is of three mortar rounds launched into the base from outside it.
The Green Zone in Baghdad, where the U.S. embassy complex is located, was also targeted with a rocket (see thread above). Reportedly, the rocket landed on a building across the street from the embassy.

Reflections on Jabotinsky’s 1906 pamphlet ‘The Bund and Zionism’
Yisrael Medad is deputy editor of the forthcoming critical English-language edition of the writings of the revisionist Zionist Ze’ev Jabotinsky, and is Research Fellow at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem. In this essay, he examines Jabotinsky’s 1906 pamphlet ‘The Bund and Zionism’ as a window on the historic battle between Zionists and Bundists for the soul of the Jewish people. Medad also stresses the contemporary relevance of the pamphlet at a time when there are signs of a neo-Bundist revival in the West. As ever, the editors welcome responses from our readers.
By Yisrael Medad
In the last two decades of the 19thcentury, there arose in the Russian Empire two political, social and cultural movements among the Jewish population that would compete for the leadership of Jewish masses for decades to come. They battled in homes, splitting apart families, and they argued in the streets and the synagogues. They confronted each other in elections for the governmental institutions of the non-Jewish countries in which they resided. They organised internally and propagandised externally, and they composed songs, wrote novels, published newspapers, demonstrated, and at times even battled each other.

Likud MK: Stop Palestinian takeover of Area C
T. Belman. We’ve known about this for many years and the Likud also knew and did nothing.
MK Ariel Kallner visits Judea and Samaria with Regavim movement, calls for emergency plan to stop PA takeover of Area C.
MK Ariel Kallner (Likud) on Tuesday held a tour of Judea and Samaria with the Regavim movement, during which he was exposed to the phenomenon of the Palestinian Arab takeover of Area C, which is under Israeli security and civilian control.
“We must formulate an emergency plan to halt the hostile takeover of Area C,” Kallner said at the conclusion of his tour.
“In the tour I held with Regavim I was exposed to a very serious phenomenon – the Palestinian Authority, with the assistance of the European Union, continues the war to steal our country,” he continued.

Russia-Iran strain raises possibility of US-Israel-Russia Syria deal
The upcoming meeting of US, Russian and Israeli national security advisers in Israel has taken on added significance as once-concealed disagreements between Russia and Iran move out into the open.
Hundreds have been killed and thousands displaced in the latest attacks by Syrian and Russian forces on the northern region of Idlib in Syria. Those forces have not shied away from targeting hospitals and residential areas.
In what may be marching orders for his national security adviser, John Bolton, US President Donald Trump tweeted last week: “Hearing word that Russia, Syria and, to a lesser extent, Iran, are bombing the hell out of Idlib Province in Syria, and indiscriminately killing many innocent civilians. The World is watching this butchery. What is the purpose, what will it get you? STOP!”
While few expect the advisors’ meeting this month in Jerusalem to produce immediate results, American and Israeli officials hope that it could prepare the ground for a deal that would further weaken Russian ties to Iran and reduce, if not terminate, Iran’s presence in Syria.

Jordan’s King Abdullah is facing new risks—from his own friends
In his two decades on the throne, Jordan’s King Abdullah II has faced almost constant challenges to the stability and prosperity of the kingdom, just as his father Hussein did for the half-century of his rule. Survival in a dangerous neighborhood is the quintessential characteristic strength of the Hashemites. Today, Abdullah is facing a new confluence of dangers and threats—including from traditional allies.
Senior Fellow – Foreign Policy, Center for 21st Century Security and Intelligence, Center for Middle East Policy

Abdullah ascended the throne after his father’s last-minute decision to change the line of succession, ousting his brother Hassan and naming his eldest son. Almost immediately, the crash of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process at Camp David and the second intifada placed enormous pressure on Jordan’s own peace treaty with Israel. The majority of Jordan’s citizens are Palestinians (including the queen) and are intensely attuned to the developments in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The peace treaty has never been popular.
The American invasion of Iraq in 2003 added more challenges. It too was deeply unpopular with Jordanians. A surge of Iraqi refugees followed stretching the economy. Perhaps a half-million are still in Jordan. Al Qaida struck hotels in Amman, and the Islamic State remains a terrorist threat.
No more the safe haven, no more the Promised Land
I see no way to put the anti-Jewish genie back in the bottle in the US. The ‘Goldene Medina” – the Golden Land – as Jews used to call the USA, is no more.
I spent five of the weeks between Passover and Shavuot of this year on a lecture tour of the US and Canada, as I do every year. The first tour took place in 2009, making this one the eleventh. Among those inviting me to speak are academic institutions, Jewish and non-Jewish public organizations, community centers and individuals. The topics of my lectures center around my research on the Middle East, including Israel, as well as Islam in its indigenous states and in those to which it has migrated.
The Jewish institutions inviting me to lecture run the gamut of North American Jewish culture: from liberal progressive, as in Reform temples, to Orthodox and even haredi milieus. I am invited by Jewish organizations such as IAC and asked to speak to them in Hebrew. On every tour, I meet people with diverse opinions, hear varied approaches to issues and listen to complex ideas.

King Abdullah reacts angrily to ‘US deal’ as Jordan homeland for Palestinians
A Palestinian child sells vegetables. File/ AFP
Jordan’s King Abdullah reacts angrily to any suggestion that he might accept a US deal to end the Arab-Israeli conflict that would make his country a homeland for Palestinians.
Speaking to the armed forces, he rejected the idea of Jordan as an alternative state for Palestinians, saying: “Don’t we have a voice in the end?” Already facing economic discontent at home, Abdullah must navigate diplomatic moves by his US allies that are upturning a regional status-quo that has underpinned Jordan’s internal politics and foreign relations for decades.
After Israel’s creation in 1948 Jordan absorbed more Palestinians than any other country, with some estimates that they now account for more than half the population.

Three State Plan: Jordan, Israel and Egypt
T. Belman. When I announced our conference in August 2017, G. Marcus commented as you see below.
He advises “The article was a private memorandum written by me at the time to serve as background material for related political circles and was not meant for publication in public media.”
“I wholehartedly support your plan as the only win-win solution. I have been pushing for the “Jordan = Palestine” solution since it came into the realm of possibility upon the Six Day War of June 1967.”
“I am ” veteran geostrategic analyst active in US political circles. Not a public persona.”
Res 242 envisaged the same solution. There was no mention of the “Palestinians”. Only Israel, Egypt and Jordan were to negotiate “secure and recognized boundaries”.
THREE CHEERS FOR A 3-STATE SOLUTION! Jordan Israel and Egypt.
2-State Plan clearly not a plan for peace, but a recipe for perpetual war and bloodshed
by G Marcus June 2011
Is the proposed Palestinian-Arab state a real option?
The only power keeping Fatah alive and preventing the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) from being overran by Hamas (just like Gaza) is the Israeli military. Accordingly, the option of Fatah rule in the West Bank is none other than international fiction and doesn’t exist in the real world.
For West Bank Arabs therefore, there are only three real options to pick from: (a) The status quo, (b) Hamas rule, or (c) Jordanian rule.
