Internal obstacles in Israel’s war effort

Why hasn’t Israel won the war yet? A look at some of the policies implemented may provide an explanation.

By AVI ABELOW | MAY 28, 2025

Nineteen months have passed since October 7, 2023, the darkest day in modern Israeli history. The day Hamas terrorists invaded our homeland, massacred over 1,200 innocent people, and took 251 hostage. Despite the government’s commitment to victory and the IDF’s sustained military efforts, the war continues with no clear end in sight.

Our brave soldiers – my sons among them – have risked everything to ensure such an attack never happens again. And yet, here we are, still fighting a dragged-out war in Gaza, still burying heroes, and still hearing promises of victory that somehow remain just out of reach.

Critics of Israel agree: Settlers make the best villains

The British government believes that it has the moral authority to dictate where in their ancestral homeland Jewish families can and cannot live.

Moshe Phillips

Along with the Israeli Defense Forces, perhaps no group of Israelis draws the attention of Israel’s critics as frequently as the so-called Jewish settlers.

In the same week that Tzeela Gez, a 30-year-old pregnant Israeli “settler” who was on her way to the hospital to deliver her fourth son, was murdered by a Palestinian Arab terrorist, the British government targeted a 79-year-old great-grandmother named Daniella Weiss.

Trump lays out new Middle East vision, from ceasefires to regional partners

Peloni:  Trump’s push to solidify support around Turkey, sever the connection of US-Saudi deal with Saudi-Israel normalization, terminating the war with the Houthis without restoring full freedom of the seas accepting the Israel only exception, and a Middle East tour without a stop in America’s greatest ally in the world, Israel, provides serious concerns for what the regional ‘shift’ really represents.  Also, the US has been providing unfettered weapons supplies to Israel and had remained silent on the Israeli offensive in Gaza, but now Trump has noted he is looking to end the war in Gaza too.  Simultaneously, he has told Bibi not to take actions which will affect the US-Iranian negotiations.  While this shift in Trump’s policy is most commonly referenced in comparison to Biden’s policy, it is far more interesting to consider the shift from Trump’s first term policy.  Indeed, all in all, Trump’s policy from his first term which had been centered upon its good and strong relationship with Israel while aligning itself against Iran – something which led to the unveiling of the Abraham Accords after only a couple of years.  Now, the central aspects of Trump’s policy seems to be centered around the Gulf states, leaving Israel somewhat isolated to its disadvantage.  All of this ignores the fact that all of Trump’s leverage in the region has come from the strategic upsets which were brought about by Israel’s actions which have collapsed the Iranian power base throughout the region.  The resulting appearance of isolating Israel from the US during the past month has strengthened the resolve of US enemies, while diminishing US leverage with those enemies.  This will have unfortunate consequences for both the US and Israel.

President Trump’s evolving Middle East policy, highlighting a strategic shift from traditional Western intervention toward fostering regional partnerships, diplomacy, and sustainable peace.

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN | MAY 27, 2025

US President Donald Trump has been laying out a vision for how his administration views the Middle East. The administration came into office hoping that it could end the conflict in Gaza and bring about a hostage and ceasefire deal.

Whatever Saudis want, Saudis get

By Ted Belman  [First published Sept 18, 2007]

I recently disclosed The Vast Power of the Saudi Lobby. Now I want to provide a list of what Saudi Lobby (money) achieved.

  • In ‘48, US imposed arms embargo on Israel
  • In ‘56 Israel forced by Eisenhower to retreat from Sinai
  • Prior to ‘67 War, Johnson promised Nasser to supply him with intelligence
  • In ‘73 war, Kissinger withheld resupplying arms to Israel so it would get “a bloody nose”

Time to Strike in Iran

Peloni: What makes Iran so special, so unique, as it has launched hundreds of ballistic missiles on a neighboring state, weaponized and deployed terror organizations stymieing international shipping, launched terror squads to execute Trump and Trump officials last year, and persists in its demand that it be allowed to enrich uranium which can have only one legitimate purpose.  And in the wake of all of this, and more, the US continues to seek ways to preserve this rogue regime as it brutalizes its citizens, joins with drug gangs in South America, and still calls for the annihilation of the US and Israel, even as it ‘negotiating’ its for its own survival.  Even under Trump, Iran’s proxies have murdered Americans with impunity, and still hold the remains of American they murdered, while threatening the US and Trump.  So, once again, what stays the hand of the US military from bringing a fraction of the carnage to Iran as was brought down on the Houthis?  It is past time that Trump act as Marziyeh has stated and strike Iran for any of what I described above, and a great deal more.

By Marziyeh Amirizadeh

It’s taken a few days for the West to wake up to and realize the significance of strikes that are taking place and widening throughout Iran, and to report on these. What’s needed now is for Western leaders to take action that capitalizes on these strikes, and empowers the Iranian people to replace the evil Islamic Republic regime which has threatened them and the world, causing immeasurable pain, suffering, trauma, and death for nearly five decades.

The Non-Existent Flu Cases of 2020

Janet Levy:  How did flu cases plummet from 48 million in 2019 to 2,000 in 2020?

Financial incentives – 20% bonus payments for COVID diagnoses, hazard pay, FEMA reimbursements, emergency relief funds…coupled with bureaucratic overreach and media-driven fear.
This was an opportunity to centralize authority and impose sweeping mandates – vaccine passports, masks, “non-essential business” closures – all without congressional oversight!
This was the warping of scientific integrity that rightly shattered the public’s trust in the medical industrial complex.

A Review Of Hollywood Hebrew Support For The Pathetic Jonathan Glazer’s Scandalous Defamation of Israel

by Gerald A. Honigman

Back in early 2024, actors Joaquin Phoenix and Elliott Gould were among the other 151 Hollywood signers of a letter supporting director Jonathan Glazer’s scandalous speech in which, while accepting an International Film category academy award for his movie, “Zone of Interest,” he equated Israel’s forced defensive actions in Gaza—after having endured decades of Arab savagery stemming from that territory—to what Nazis did to Jews in the Holocaust.

Sanctions? Iran’s Secret Oil Network Fuels Its Regime

Iran is exporting 1.6 million barrels of oil every day. Thanks to a shadowy fleet, fake paperwork, and a global network of front companies, Tehran keeps its oil flowing, fueled by China’s backing. The West’s sanctions are failing spectacularly. Find out why and what it will take to finally cut off this illicit lifeline.

Saeed Ghasseminejad | May 24, 2025

Iran’s Thriving Oil Exports Despite Sanctions

A glaring gap persists between Western aspirations to curtail Iran’s oil revenue and the stark reality of its flourishing exports. Stated objectives, such as slashing Iranian oil to a mere 100,000 barrels per day, are dwarfed by current figures approaching 1.6 million barrels daily.

Celebrating a post October 7th Jerusalem Day Parade

Peloni:  The shattering effect of October 7 changed the world, in ways which were both great and terrible.  The quiet resolve supporting the Jerusalem Day celebrations is certainly to be counted among these.  A powerful and important result of the sense of unity and identity which was previously far less universal than it stands today.

The parade, a long cherished part of the day’s celebration, was regarded with fear and loathing by the Left right through 2023. Now they are seen as teaching self-respect.

Published:

One way to gauge the change and difference the horrific October 7th massacre and the ensuing Swords of Iron war has made in contrast to the previous prevailing “conceptzia” is to consider the Jerusalem Day parade.

Israeli report claims Trump-Netanyahu phone call on Iran was tense, heated

Peloni:  The final statement in this report by Noem seems to highlight Trump’s need to restrain Bibi as he continues to push forward on his efforts of negotiating with the duplicitous Mullahs, while failing to appreciate that there is no good outcome to be had which keeps the Mullahs in power.  Good for Bibi for providing some upstream pressure on what will be Trump’s greatest failure should he succeed in his attempts at a ‘better deal’.

Israel is a “Jewish and Democratic State”. What does it mean?

By Ted Belman

Martin Sherman in his seminal post, Distorting the Declaration, after noting that the protestors support the following David Horovitz’s, claim,

Our Declaration of Independence promises that the State of Israel ‘will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture…’”

argued, that while this is true, it was misleading. He wrote and proved, “the focus of Israel’s Declaration of Independence is overwhelmingly on Jewish sovereignty and political independence in the ancestral Jewish homeland—not on liberal democratic governance” as the protestors would have you believe.

Christian Zionists, Past and Present

Victor Sharpe

Zionism, simply put, is the Jewish people’s national liberation movement. Put in Biblical terms, it is the return from exile of the Jews to Zion – to that very special land promised by God to the first Jew, Abraham, and through Isaac, Jacob and the Jewish prophets to the Jewish people forever.

The Hebrew Scriptures equate Zion with the holiest city in Judaism, Israel’s 3,000-year-old capital city of Jerusalem. You can read numerous references in the Bible and the Psalms to the word Zion, such as in Psalm 135:21, II Samuel 5:7 and Isaiah 24:23.

The Biblical yearning of the Jews, ancient and modern, to return to their ancestral homeland is mirrored in the modern political usage of the term Zionism, first employed in 1890 by the Jewish author and poet, Nathan Birnbaum.
