Yet one response stands out for its disturbing nature.

As Israel is being threatened by both its “friends” like Canada and the UK, as well as Jihadis from Gaza, Syria and Iran we note with anxiety that United Torah Judaism and other members of the religious blocks in the Knesset are threatening to dissolve the government so that the thousands of Jewish men who study in Yeshivas throughout the land do not have to do military service.
Peloni: The likelihood of the heredim parties getting a better deal with the opposition parties is negligible, as their base was anti-heredi, even before October 7. Unless the heredim are looking to burn their bridges with the Right, a deal will be struck. Still, the attacks on Edelstein continue and are not helpful towards this goal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conducted a meeting yesterday with Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee Chairman Yuli Edelstein to discuss advancing the draft exemption bill. According to the Times of Israel, the meeting confirmed that a path exists to bridge the gaps on the issue of conscription.

J’accuse, was a celebrated open letter by Émile Zola to the president of the French Republic in defense of Alfred Dreyfus, a Jewish officer who had been accused of treason by the French army. It was published in the newspaper L’Aurore on Jan. 13, 1898. The letter, which began with the denunciatory phrase “J’accuse,” blamed the army for covering up its mistaken conviction of Dreyfus. Dreyfus was eventually cleared years later.
In a recent essay in National Post, Iddo Moed, Israeli ambassador to Canada noted that the Dreyfuss Affair teaches the lesson that false narratives, when left unchallenged, have violent consequences. Moed writes:

This week, the world was fed another lie: that Israeli troops deliberately opened fire on Palestinians waiting for food in Gaza.
Peloni: How is it that this woman has not already been apprehended, tried, convicted and executed for the crimes she committed twenty years ago. The Hashemites have only survived the past decades in power due to US presence and support. Jordan receives the largest aid package in history from the US. And yet we are to believe that the US lacks the leverage to bring this butcheress to justice in an American court?? This is simply not true.

Frimet and Arnold Roth, the parents of Malki Roth, a US citizen who was killed at age 15 in the 2001 Sbarro Pizzeria bombing in Jerusalem, met last month with US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee to deliver a petition urging the extradition of the attack’s orchestrator, Hamas terrorist Ahlam Tamimi, from Jordan.
Peloni: Threatening Russia’s nuclear capabilities is something which should not be taken lightly. To be certain it won’t be so by the Russians. Trump should follow Flynn’s advice, and take what actions are necessary to reestablish American actions in accord with American interests. This certainly would not include using the terms of nuclear treaties to support such an attack on the Russian nuclear capabilities. Take further note that as the drones were smuggled into Russia during a state of war with closed borders and nil trade with the West, the US border has been left wide open for years with the movement of men and material unfettered at its border…

Before Donald Trump’s blowout win in New Hampshire he shocked the world by saying he would allow the Russians to do the “dirty work” and would “Let them beat the shit out of ISIS also.”. Trump went further, “I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect,”
Putin, responded by saying: “He (Trump) says that he wants to move to another level of relations, to a deeper level of relations with Russia. How can we not welcome that? Of course we welcome it.”
The condemnation of Trump for his remarks was immediate but certainly not universal. Many American’s are beginning to see Russia in a new light.

When I was a nursing student decades ago, a doctor friend told me about an interesting case in which he performed a routine yearly checkup on a 12-year-old boy, including blood and urine tests, and to his surprise, this healthy-looking preteen had blood in his urine. The doctor promptly ordered an intravenous pyelogram (IPG) — now in medicine’s dinosaur museum — which revealed that in one of the youngster’s kidneys, the renal medulla — the innermost region — and the renal cortex — the outermost region — were reversed, and as a result, the aberrant kidney took four hours longer to collect and then empty the body of urine.

Israeli popular singer Yuval Raphael recently came in second in this year’s Eurovision song festival. She deserves our heartfelt congratulations during this dark time for Israel and the Jewish people.

Peloni: The only purpose for Iran in these negotiations is to ignore any binding effort to block their nuclear ambitions, and to try to get Washington to accept an interim agreement, permanently, such that they will keep their nuclear capabilities and only pause their nuclear enrichment while maintaining US restraint on Israel indefinitely. The only question is whether Trump will move towards such a posture of mimicking the policy failures which he ridiculed before coming to office. The answer to this question will determine the fate of the Iranians, the Israelis and the Americans, all at the same time.

The White House presented the new deal as a ‘‘detailed and acceptable proposal,” but it does not suffice for the Islamic Republic of Iran. Of course this should not be a surprise to anyone. The Islamic Republic will not agree to any deal that has any possibility whatsoever of restraining the Islamic regime.
Peloni: Ukraine’s continued grandstanding campaigns can not erase the deficiency in their manpower, munitions and morale. They simply can not win this war.
