‘Not Under Pressure or Sanctions’: Tehran and Key European Powers Discuss Resuming Nuclear Talks

FDD | Jan 16, 2025

Latest Developments

  • Iran and E3 Hold Talks: Diplomats from France, Germany, and the United Kingdom — known as the E3 — met with Iranian officials in Geneva on January 14 to discuss the possibility of resuming nuclear negotiations. The meeting marked the second round of talks in less than two months, following a discreet meeting in November.
  • Regime Seeks Sanctions Relief Prior to Talks With Washington: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated on January 14 that the regime will not negotiate with the incoming Trump administration unless “they return to the [Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA)]” negotiated in 2015, adding that Tehran would engage in talks on condition that these take place “not under pressure and sanctions.” Araghchi had previously expressed the same sentiment during a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency chief Rafael Grossi in November.

It is too soon to be too distraught about the hostage deal

Peloni:  The next few months are critical for Trump on many areas of import.  Hopefully Trump will demonstrate that the huge cost of forcing Israel to accept this surrender deal will be worth the undisclosed potential benefits which may stand in the not too distant future.

Trump’s desire to seal a pre-inauguration deal forced Israel’s acquiescence.

There is widespread and justifiable disappointment, unto anger, about the just announced hostage deal. Yes, thankfully, hostages are going to be released. But the price being paid is steep.

Will Yemen’s Houthis get away with a year of attacks on Israel? – analysis

Peloni:  Trump must take back control securing the freedom of the seas, in such a way that it is seen that this is taking place on his terms and not those of the Houthis.  Failing to do so will only lead to the grasp of US impotence growing under the return of Trump to the White House rather than the opposite.

The message from the Houthis is that they decide the time and place of attacks. The message they think will resonate is that they got away with this. Time will tell if this is the case.

However, the Houthis appear to be holding out for certain conditions to be met. This has left those closely monitoring the Red Sea with questions about what comes next. Read more…

Erdogan demands that Israel withdraw from Syria and ‘everyone take their hands off Syria’

Peloni:  Turkey stands as a looming threat to regional stability, as it leads the radical Sunni axis in opposition to both the Iranian radical Shiite axis, as well as to Israel and the moderate Sunni states.

By

Turkey is a dangerous Islamic supremacist state under its President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who has expansionary goals of a revived Ottoman Empire with himself as caliph. And he’s getting closer.

The Imam on Trump’s Inauguration Program

The enemy within is already trying to burrow inside.

Daniel Greenfield | Jan 17, 2025

“The time may be soon to go back home,” Imam Husham Al-Husainy told CBS News. The year was 2003 and Al-Husainy, along with the other Iraqi Shiite ‘refugees’ filling Dearborn’s Muslim community, had gotten their fondest wish when the United States removed Saddam Hussein.

Huge CIA fake vaccination scandal of the past reveals parallels to COVID

Peloni:  Mike Benz continues to reveal significant aspects of the Bureaucratic Leviathan in Washington, but I have to admit that among the many report, scandals and revelations made by Benz, this piece exposes a particularly troubling aspect of the weaponization of modern society to support the nefarious goals of the intelligence community.  After all, medicine is meant to treat the ill, to cure the injured, and bring comfort to those in great need of it, so enveloping and manipulating the trust and inspirations of the medical field into a whole of society perversion towards other objectives, stands as an uniquely despicable project, and a complete betrayal of the moral compass upon which medical interventions are based.

Terror Pays Off: Inside Israel’s Painful Hostage Deal with Hamas

Peloni:  The strengthening of Hamas thru this hostage deal is highly damaging.  It demonstrates the strength of Hamas both inside Gaza, and to the Arab street inside Israel and the PA.  As KuperWasser describes it, terror pays off.  The repercussions for this debacle stand as a great betrayal to the lives which have been lost thus far in this war, and a resounding victory to those who advocated for Israel to capitulate to Hamas rather than persevere onward towards victory.

Why Aren’t Hospitals Incentivized To Save Lives?

What makes hospitals so deadly and how can we fix it?

A Midwestern Doctor | Jan 16, 2025

Story at a Glance

•Throughout COVID-19, abysmal hospital care and the suppression of effective off-patent therapies killed approximately a million Americans. Much of this originated from Obamacare pressuring hospitals to aggressively treat patients so they could quickly leave the hospital and reduce healthcare costs.

•More frail patients respond poorly to aggressive protocols, resulting in them frequently being pushed into palliative care or hospice. Sadly doctors are no longer trained to gradually bring their patients back to health, and hence view many of those deaths as inevitable.

Israel-Hamas Cease Fire

By Walter E. Block

As of the present writing, the specifics of the Israel-Hamas cease fire deal are not yet pellucidly clear. However, we can now begin to see at least the grayish outlines of what will occur, if this is agreed upon. It will be a very bad one for the safety, prosperity, even survival of the only Jewish state on the planet. If a rag-tag group of terrorists can get away with dictating terms to a powerful nation such as Israel, that could become an entering wedge.

What specifics are so far at least thought to be known? Reports the Associated Press: “The deal is expected to include the release of five female Israeli soldiers held by Hamas in the first phase of the agreement, each of whom would be exchanged for 50 Palestinian prisoners, including 30 convicted militants who are serving life sentences.”

Terms of Hostage Deal

Peloni:  This is a useful graphic, but it fails to note that there are many aspects of the deal which are yet to be clarified, over which negotiations will be ongoing as the deal unfolds, which will be used by Hamas to prevent a return of hostilities while they stall out negotiations.  Per the Biden camp, so long as negotiations are ongoing, hostilities will be blocked.  This only incentivizes Hamas to prevaricate and drag out negotiations.  Hence, it remains to be seen to what degree the incoming Trump administration agrees with Biden on this position.  In any event, as has been true since the war began, it will fall to Netanyahu to wield the national chutzpah which characterizes a sovereign nation, and make the decision independently, regardless of what the Trump administration insists upon.

One other issue regarding this deal, the condition of those being released, ie dead or alive, is completely unknonwn, and a comprehensive list of hostages, living or dead, being held by Hamas is still not being provided by Hamas.

The Politics of AI: Biden Targets Israel

According to the administration, Israel is not a security ally, tech ally, democratic ally or any other kind of ally.

Shoshana Bryen JPC

Is the Biden administration computer illiterate? Is it technology-innovation-unaware? Is it malicious when it comes to Israel? The third seems to be the case.

On its way out, the administration’s “Interim Final Rule on Artificial Intelligence Diffusion,” announced on Jan. 13, would place new limits on how many artificial-intelligence chips companies, including Nvidia, Intel and AMD, can send to different countries without making special arrangements with the U.S. government. Israel is one of the countries for which they will have to get permission.

The Surrender-to-Hamas Deal

“And a new king arose over Egypt who did not know Joseph.” Exodus 1:8

Every country fights Islamic terrorism alone. What should have been a world war against a common enemy has become a lonely battle in which each country strives separately against a global threat. And within each country, individuals have been abandoned by their governments to face sudden death.

The Surrender to Hamas Deal Also Empowers China

Peloni:  This deal and Trump’s support for it makes less and less sense…

By

It’s bad for Israel, for America and for the world.

That a deal in which Hamas gets to claim victory, gets to keep Gaza and gets thousands of terrorists in trade for a handful of living or dead hostages is bad for Israel is obvious.

But it’s also terrible for America.

The evil that is Egypt

Barbara Diamond | Jan 16, 2024

Egypt has been gearing up for war. Their purported enemies are the Houthis who have blocked the maritime lanes with their missiles and have brought Egypt’s economy to its knees. Their real enemy is Israel. It is now, and it always has been Israel. The 1979 peace accord signed by then Prime Minister Menachem Begin and then President Anwar El Sadat was the ultimate deception. It was always a cold peace… but now Israel realizes that there is a difference between cold and deadly frozen.

We in Israel deluded ourselves that an Egypt ruled today by President Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil El-Sisi was better than one ruled by the Moslem Brotherhood.  It now appears that there is little difference between the two.

Israeli Generals have been warning that a war between Egypt and Israel is imminent. The public did not understand. Now we do.

The first ten days of the new Trump Administration

By Walter E. Block

What should President Elect Trump (my oh, my, I like the sound of that!) do in the first ten days of his new administration? Here are some suggestions:

Form a commission to get to the bottom of the ballot box cheating which undoubtedly took place four years ago. The voting patterns alone make a strong case that this did indeed occur. There was a 20 million vote gap between the totals garnered by Biden and Harris. This alone is more than suspicious. Then there was the cemetery “vote,” that went against our next president. It is time, it is past time, to get at the full unvarnished truth on this matter, wherever the chips may lie. At least one Democrat should be on this commission.
