Why Palestinians Will Not Have New Leaders
Peloni: The Pals are specifically weaponized to abuse, diminish, and control Israel. The support for the promulgation of this fact comes from many and disperate sources, from the US, Europe, Russia, Iran, and the Sunnis. This is why UNWRA is inexplicably still gaining support after being exposed again and again as being complicit and co-opted by the terrorists whom they tutor from the cradle to the grave at the expense of billions of dollars per year. And to the point raised by Tawil in this essay, the Pals themselves are too well suckled on the hatred of Israel as part of this process to allow any reform movement within their population to take root.

Palestinians still remember how political activist and human rights defender Nizar Banat, an outspoken critic of corruption in the Palestinian Authority (PA), was beaten to death by PA security officers in Hebron in 2021. Until today, no one has been punished for the killing of Banat.
