Israel hits Hezbollah again as top general vows to deliver “blow after blow” against the group

T. Belman. There is no question in my mind that Israel won’t be content with delivering a message to Hezbollah. Israel is preparing the ground in Lebanon to enable a full scale invasion of South Lebanon with intent of occupying it to the Litani R. In addition, Israel will destroy Hezbollah and its 150,000 missiles and rockets.

The IDF has warned civilians to vacate the area.

The Israeli Air Force conducted numerous air strikes against Hezbollah on September 21 and September 22. The strikes capped a week in which Israel has sought to take the initiative on the northern front against the group. After 11 months and more than 8,000 attacks by the Iranian-backed terrorist organization, Israel has shifted from proportional responses to wide-ranging strikes against Hezbollah’s leadership and rocket launchers.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on September 22 that more than 150 warplanes were used in strikes on Hezbollah in over 40 hours of operations. The IDF eliminated Hezbollah commander Ibrahim Aqil and 15 more of the group’s commanders in a strike on September 20. In the wake of that attack, the IDF increased the tempo of strikes for two days. Hezbollah struggled to respond but eventually found its footing on the morning of September 22, launching its longest-range attack in 11 months, targeting sites and communities east of the Israeli city of Haifa. One rocket landed in Kiryat Bialik north of Haifa, causing damage to a number of apartments and wounding several people.

Israel’s war front shifts dramatically to north against Iran-backed Hezbollah terrorists

Peloni:  It seems somewhat perplexing as to why the turmoil created by the exploding communications devices was not immediately followed by a land invasion of Southern Lebanon which would have significantly benefited from exploiting the strategic advantage created by the Grim Beeper Affair.  The failure to act will result in a diminishing benefit with the passage of time.

US Shrugs as World War III Approaches

T. Belman. The last thing the US wants is for China/Russia/Iran axis to take over the Middle East and Africa. That is one of the reasons the US keeps financing Iran and tolerates its terrorism.  To avoid this axis from taking over, the US has no choice but to create a Middle East NATO that would be a bullwork to prevent this from happening.

The axis of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea is stepping up its attacks on the United States–led world order. But media coverage fails to connect the dots among the growing number of global crises.

Walter Russell Mead argues in the Wall Street Journal that the Commission on the National Defense Strategy’s recent report, which concludes that the US faces its “most serious and most challenging” threats since 1945, should serve as a wake-up call about the dangers of American weakness.

To discuss this report, Rebeccah L. Heinrichs hosted two members of the commission at Hudson. Key takeaways from the event are below.

Biden-Harris Campaign Did Not Inform FBI of Iranian Hackers Offering Stolen Trump Info

By

Iran hacked the Trump campaign, stole vetting materials, and passed it along to the media and to the Biden-Harris campaign.

According to the FBI, this was to sow chaos, rather than the obvious motive of helping the Democrats win.

The Biden-Harris campaign did not respond to the Iranian emails by going to the FBI. It did not contact law enforcement at all.

Sa’ar Declines Offer to Replace Gallant

Peloni:  That is a pity.  Sa’ar has stated his reasons are related to the escalation in the war, but maintains that he may still join the govt in some other capacity in the coming days.  This unfortunately leaves Gallant in place as DM to continue the efforts of Washington to overrule what is in Israel’s best interest.

FOREIGN PODICY | International Law and Disorder

Peloni:  This was a rare treat.  Highly recommended.  I would suggest watching the first 20 min at a minimum, but if time is allowed, the entire video is well worth watching as Natasha Hausdorff addresses the issues of the development and application of international law against Israel, the absurd steps taken against Israel in the ICJ & ICC, the outrageous actions exercised by the Chief Prosecutor of the ICC, why J&S are not Pal territory, the disappointing (understatement) of the BBC & the British govt, the role of UNWRA in October 7, why the British govt has such a hostile position with Israel, and do the hostility of the British govt and BBC reflect the public opinion at large of Israel.

Like it or not, now is the time for war.

Peloni:  War is not what we want, but it is what we are left with.  They want to wreak Jihad upon us every day of the week, and we must face what we have ignored for too long now, and finally deal with these barbarians as if they are barbarians, and to recognize that their only goal is to slaughter us because their only goal is to slaughter us.  There can be no negotiation on these points, no toleration with their plans of future massacres against us.  Whatever it takes, war is being waged upon our people and we must respond with a resolve which is indefatigable and a spirit which is both inspiring and perseverant.

Mike Doran: A Few Thoughts for the Day

T.Belman I disagree with Doran. I can’t believe that he raised the possibility of enforcing 1701. Now that Israel has Hezbollah reeling, Israel should invade Lebanon and occupy it to the Litani R. But shouldn’t stop there. She should destroy Hezbollah and it arsenal of 150,000 smart missiles and rockets once and for all.

“Israel should make clear that if the international community will not implement 1701, then Israel will have no choice but to do so unilaterally, at a time and in a manner of its choosing.”

Why Egypt Prefers Palestinian Terrorists On Its Border

by Bassam Tawil  •  Gatestone Institute •  September 20, 2024 at 5:00 am

Anyone who believes that the Egyptians would act differently if and when Israel withdraws from the border area must be living on another planet. If the IDF leaves, Hamas will swiftly return to the border, and the Egyptians will continue looking the other way. • Before el-Sissi, but also during his tenure, cars, motorcycles, clothes, drugs, medicines, alcoholic beverages, and weapons were smuggled through the Philadelphi Corridor over the years, lots of weapons: improved RPG-29 rockets that killed our soldiers in the Iron Swords War, hidden rocket parts, machine guns, mines, and more.” — Nadav Shragai, Israeli author and journalist, Israel Hayom, July 10, 2024.

Israel Announces ‘New Phase’ in War, Emphasizing Northern Front

With ‘capabilities not yet activated.’

by

Israel’s war for its own survival against the terror group Hamas has expanded since last October 7 to include the Iran-backed Houthis in the Red Sea, Hizballah in Lebanon, and intensifying skirmishes in Judea and Samaria. As a second wave of hacked pager blasts, aimed at Hizballah, rocked Lebanon — killing at least 20 and injuring 450 – Israel has announced a “new phase” in war on the northern front.

Gallant Wants a Second Chance

Peloni:  Gallant blew past his second chance and his third and his forth.  He has consistently challenged Bibi since entering the govt, overstepping his authority, ignoring agreements made during coalition negotiations, and undermining authority of the govt to work the will of the people which delivered the Right its current majority.  And all of this was well before October 7, following which Gallant has played the role of the American toady over and over again.  Now that he is the last remaining American toady in the coalition, it is important for the Americans that Gallant remain as a stopgap measure between Bibi and the IDF, just as it is important that Bibi send him on his way, so mething which he should have done over a year ago when Gallant first showed his true colors to be Red, White and Blue.

Is Israel Losing Control of its Land?

Peloni:  This would have been far more interesting conversation if they had brought someone from the Left who wasn’t from JStreet, as they might just as well have brought Sinwar to the debate.  Regardless of this, Nadia and Maurice are excellent.

Georgia Election Board Passes New Voting Rule Requires Counties To Hand-Count Ballots

Peloni:  I have been waiting to hear this for four years.  Georgia is the land of corruption, and it has been an inspiration to witness the turn of events on the election board of late.  Perhaps it is too much to expect that this will not be overturned on appeal, as I noted, Georgia is the land of corruption.

The Georgia State Election Board voted Friday 3-2 to require all state counties to hand-count the number of ballots cast at polling places on Election Day.

All three board members who cast their vote in favor of the proposition were previously praised by former President Donald Trump back in August, according to The Associated Press. One Republican and Democrat voted against the measure.

The vote was heralded by many Republicans.
