‘Future of Judea & Samaria’: Former US envoy unveils sovereignty plan

The proposal “protects Israel’s security, respects biblical covenants and affords civil rights and human dignity to all.”

Israel suffered the worst massacre in its history on Oct. 7, at the hands of Hamas—an Iranian terror proxy that was voted into power and continues to be supported by the majority of Palestinians in Gaza. The attack proved longstanding Israeli fears that any independent Palestinian entity without overriding Israeli security control would become a staging ground for barbaric terrorism against the Jewish state.

And now, as Israel fights to permanently remove Hamas, a U.S.-designated terror organization, from the Gaza Strip, key members of the international community, including the United States and the United Kingdom, are doubling down on calls for the creation of a Palestinian state in all of Judea, Samaria and Gaza. These nations are considering official recognition of Palestinian statehood, while Israel fights to restore order in the region, whether or not Israelis or Palestinians support a two-state outcome, let alone are willing and able to reach an elusive agreement.

Is Trump’s Mega-Fine Unconstitutional?

by Alan M. Dershowitz, GATESTONE  •  February 29, 2024

  • The civil case against Donald Trump was brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, a prosecutor who campaigned for her elected office on a pledge to get Trump. By bringing a civil case rather than a criminal prosecution, James denied Trump a jury trial, which he could not have gotten on this kind of case; a requirement of proof behind a reasonable doubt, and other constitutional safeguards. Now she seeks to deny him the protection of the Eighth Amendment’s prohibition against excessive fines.

The General Who Believes in Winning Wars

For the past two decades, Gershon Hacohen has been a lonely dissenter in the highest ranks of the IDF. Unfortunately, he was proven right.

BY Armin Rosen, TABLET

Four-and-half months after Hamas commandos overran the police station in the center of Sderot, all that remains is a dusty lot of twisted rebar. Although the city’s police killed over two dozen terrorists before the IDF arrived late in the morning of Oct. 7, it took over a dozen tank shells to bring down the hijacked station, where outnumbered officers had fought Hamas’ Nukhba forces to a bloody impasse. An Israeli tank had never fired on an Israeli building on Israeli territory in combat before.

US opens investigation into Israeli company making Iron Dome parts

The precedential investigation procedure could dramatically impact the entire trade relationship between Israel and the US.

In an unprecedented legal proceeding, the American government opened an investigation into Finkelstein Metals and is examining the government’s conduct, Maariv reported Wednesday morning.

According to the American authorities, grants received by the company due to activities in a development zone constitute a prohibited government subsidy, and they allowed the company to sell its products in the US at inflated prices. The decision to open the investigation and sanctions against Finkelstein has puzzled Israeli officials.

McConnell will step down as the Senate Republican leader in November after a record run in the job

Peloni: And just like that, the three Mc’s will be gone.  The fact that McConnell will remain til after the election will maintain his significant influence on the party during the coming election, but it gives the MAGA team just one more incentive to press forward towards victory in November.  If Trump wins, there will be a real contest for McConnell’s replacement to actually represent the American people and not the Washington elites, RINO establishment, and their Chinese allies.

By MICHAEL TACKETT Feb 28, 2024

WASHINGTON (AP) — Mitch McConnell, the longest-serving Senate leader in history who maintained his power in the face of dramatic convulsions in the Republican Party for almost two decades, will step down from that position in November.

McConnell, who turned 82 last week, announced his decision Wednesday in the well of the Senate, a place where he looked in awe from its back benches in 1985 when he arrived and where he grew increasingly comfortable in the front row seat afforded the party leaders.

The left’s inversion of democracy is the same as the CIA’s

What’s happened with the rise of the web censorship industry is a total inversion of the idea of democracy itself, backed covertly by the US State Department. It can happen here. Op-ed.

By Ezequiel Doiny, INN                                                   27 February 2024

Ezequiel Doiny

On February 25, 2023 Arutz 7 reported “Former Prime Minister Ehud Barak shared his plan for how to force the current Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to resign. In an interview with Galei Tzahal (IDF Radio) Barak said ‘We need 30 thousand citizens to encircle the Knesset in tents for three weeks, day and night. When the state is shut down – Netanyahu will realize that his time is up and that there is no trust in him.'”

Israel Must Go Ahead with an Operation in Rafah

B. Kalman: While Biden does need the support of the US Muslim community to win the election, this is only the manifest issue.  The latent agenda is to see to it that Israel does not win the war against Hamas.  The goal is to permanently cripple Israel’s national security or destroy Israel.  Of course they couch it in terms of humanitarian concerns but there is not even a shred of real humanitarian concern behind the constant accusations against Israel.  The truth is, Israel cannot be allowed to survive and thrive.  Those currently in power cannot tolerate a strong national sovereignty of any country, and certainly not that of the nation state of the Jews.  Thus they will try to destroy Israel’s war effort every which way they can.  Let us hope they do not succeed.

By Colonel (res) Gabi Siboni, JEWISH POLICY CENTER

The Jerusalem Institute for Strategy and Security    28 Feb 2024

The IDF is operating in the Gaza Strip to implement the directives of the political echelon. The objectives the cabinet defined for the army at a meeting on October 16, 2023  are: toppling the Hamas regime and destroying its military and governmental capabilities, removing the terrorist threat from the Gaza Strip, creating conditions for the return of the hostages, defending the borders of the state and its citizens while removing the security threat from Gaza, while leaving the IDF full freedom of action without restrictions on the use of force. The IDF is succeeding in systematically dismantling Hamas, although the fighting in Gaza is fierce and exacts painful costs. After more than four months of war, the IDF has taken control of the northern Gaza Strip and has full operational freedom of action in the area. The forces operate in a variety of ways to continue cleansing Hamas infrastructure – above and below ground. Progress has also been made in Khan Yunis, where the IDF is eliminating terrorists and destroying their infrastructure.

Netanyahu counters Biden: Most Americans support Israel

Peloni: See breakdown on details of Harvard Harris poll below the article

Biden said that the Jewish state’s “incredibly conservative government” risked losing it international support.

JNS / February 28, 2024

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday night hit back at U.S. President Joe Biden for claiming that the Jewish state’s “incredibly conservative government” risked losing it international support.

“Since the start of the war, I have been leading a diplomatic campaign to block pressure designed to end the war prematurely and to secure strong support for Israel,” said Netanyahu in a video message.

“We have had considerable success. Today, a Harvard-Harris poll was published which shows that 82% of the American public supports Israel, meaning that four out of five U.S. citizens support Israel and not Hamas,” he continued.

Report: US wants Israeli written assurances on using US weapons in Gaza

T. Belman.  The purpose of this demand is to give the US the power to say Israel is violating international law, whether they are or not, and therefore weapons will be “paused.  It is similar to their dictates regarding “settler violence”.

There is a distinction between Customay humanitarian law, which nobody follows, and Treaty humanitarian law, that Israel follows better than anyone else.

Officials tell Axios that Biden administration gave Israel until mid-March to sign letter that provides assurances that it will abide by international law while using US weapons in Gaza.

The assurances are now a requirement under a memorandum issued earlier this month by President Joe Biden. While it does not single out Israel, the new policy came after some Democratic senators expressed concern over the Israeli military campaign in Gaza. If the assurances aren’t provided by the deadline, US weapon transfers to the country will be paused.

Biden Admin Exempted Itself From Anti-Terrorism Laws To Send Aid to Gaza. Senate Republicans Want To Strip That Authority.

Peloni:  The US is actively funding terrorists.  One should count this as a feature, not a bug, as the US persists with its policy of realignment with Iran which it likes to euphemistically style as ‘integration’.

Senate Republicans want to strip the Biden administration of its power to skirt federal anti-terrorism laws in order to pump millions in taxpayer funding into the Palestinian territories, including the war-torn Gaza Strip, the Washington Free Beacon has learned.

The legislation, led by Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) and three of his Republican colleagues, is a response to a 2023 Free Beacon report that revealed the Biden administration exempted itself from anti-terrorism laws to resume funding to the Gaza Strip and West Bank, aid that was frozen under the previous administration.

Secretary Blinken on settlements – not supported by the facts

By Ambassador (ret.) Yoram Ettinger, “Second Thought: a US-Israel Initiative” February 27, 2024,

Secretary of State Antony Blinken represents conventional wisdom when claiming that “It’s been longstanding US policy… that new settlements are… inconsistent with international law.”

However, conventional wisdom is frequently demolished by the march of facts.

The Aims of the War in Gaza—and the Strategy for Achieving Them

By Azar Gat, INSS                                                         26 FEBRUARY 2024

This article proposes that the declared aims of the war in the Gaza Strip and the strategy chosen to promote them are fundamentally essential, appropriate for the situation, and achievable, even if they do not lead to a “solution” in the foreseeable future. It reviews the alternatives proposed with respect to the aims and conduct of the war and argues that they lack internal coherence and do not meet the test of reality.

Corrupted from Birth: The UNRWA’s forgotten history

The discovery of a Hamas server farm beneath the United Nations Relief and Relief Agency (UNRWA) ‘s Gaza headquarters culminates a catastrophic few months for the world’s largest welfare organization.

Israeli intelligence recently found that at least a dozen UNRWA employees were directly involved in the October 7 massacres, and at least 1,200 had ties to Hamas.

In addition, UN Watch released a report showing tha

The Takeover.

A massive increase in foreign money and students on American campuses is driving radicalization and subsidizing institutional failure

By Nedetu Arnold, TABLET    FEB 27, 2024

Students participate in a protest in support of Palestine on the Columbia University campus on November 14, 2023 in New York City.

Something new and peculiar stands out about the wave of anti-Israel student activism that has rocked American university campuses since October: There is a visibly more radical element to these protests. Student activists almost seemed to take glee in Hamas’ massacre of innocent civilians—when they weren’t denying that it happened at all. The antisemitic rage struck a different tone than the typical anti-Israel fare that has become a central part of American student activism since Students for a Democratic Society formed in the 1960s.
