by November 2023

On Saturday, November 18, Israel’s war in Gaza reached its 43rd day and the ground offensive in Gaza has now reached its three-week mark. This war, Israel’s leaders say, is going to be long. But we are beginning to see the ground offensive reach a new phase.
To date, 56 IDF troops have been killed in the ground campaign, four hostages have been released by Hamas, and one was freed by the IDF. This week, three more hostages have been reported as killed. The IDF recovered the bodies of Israeli civilian Yehudit Weiss and Corporal Noa Marciano near the Shifa Hospital. A Tanzanian student named Clemens Felix Matanga, kidnapped by Hamas on October 7, was announced killed in Gaza over the weekend. There are concerns for a fourth, elderly hostage after Hamas released a video claiming he was dead.

When Neutrality is Immoral: Israel, Hamas, and the Problem of Moral Equivalence
By André Villeneuve, GATESTONE • November 19, 2023

- While many the world over had the integrity to condemn “the hideous crime, naming its perpetrators and acknowledging Israel’s basic right to defend itself against the atrocity,” the Patriarchs and Heads of Churches were unable to muster up such moral clarity.
- While the IDF goes out of its way to minimize civilian casualties, Hamas and other Palestinian terror groups do their utmost to maximize them — not only by indiscriminately murdering Israelis, but also by hiding among their own civilian population and using them as human shields, resulting in disproportionately high numbers of Palestinian casualties, caused — deliberately — by Hamas.
The War Against the Jews
“Stop acting like the benign ocean water that fuels the hurricane passing overhead. Instead, be the hurricane.”
By DAVID HAZONY, SAPIR JOURNAL
Jews around the world have awakened to a new reality of grief, fear?—?and mobilization. Alongside the horrors of the October 7 terror invasion of Israel, a global antisemitic movement has suddenly emerged, marching through our cities, celebrating the barbaric violation of Jewish bodies, tearing down posters of Jewish victims, blaming Jews for the atrocities committed against them, and unleashing yet more violence against Jews and Jewish institutions.
While global Jewry has come together in unparalleled fashion to support Israel in its most difficult hour, there is nonetheless an important truth that many Jews are still finding hard to accept, or at least to articulate.

Biden wants global security regime in Gaza, then PA; floats visa ban on violent settlers
T. Belman. Biden is obsessed egarding the TSS. He just won’t let it go. How come? What’s it to him? Why must “Gaza and the West Bank should be reunited under a single governance structure,” ?
Why is he promotting the rebuilding of Gaza now? Syria has not been rebuilt after many years.
There is no “settler violence” yet Biden keeps railing against it.
In op-ed, US president calls for international effort to rebuild post-war Strip, says extremists in West Bank must be stopped, held accountable; Netanyahu: PA ‘not fit’ to run Gaza

US President Joe Biden, for the first time, urged the international community on Saturday to help manage the security of the Gaza Strip for an interim period after the war, to be followed eventually by Palestinian Authority governance.
In a Washington Post op-ed, he also threatened to slap entry bans on violent Israeli settlers who attack Palestinians in the West Bank.
Jordan sent an army to the Israeli border, presumably to block refugees from entering
Jordanian ground forces are moving into areas bordering Palestinian lands. According to one version, they are bringing them closer to the Israeli borders to possibly counter the IDF.
A number of Arab media outlets have reported about the transfer of the Jordanian army.
It is noted that the kingdom is building up forces near the borders of Israel and Palestine, putting them on alert.

Appeasement, not Victory: Israel Has Quickly Reverted to Its Bad Old Policies

Those failed policies mean primarily one thing: Wrongly assuming that enrichment — more work permits in Israel, a larger fishing zone, outside funding — gives Palestinians something to lose, taming them and making them less inclined to aggression.

The left laughed when then-President Ronald Reagan made weapons in space a priority, derisively calling it “Star Wars.”They were even more derision when it came to former President Donald Trump’s Space Force, with an entire television series dedicated to mocking it.Perhaps, however, they won’t be laughing so hard now that Israel has made history by launching the first combat act that took place entirely in outer space.
According to Fox News, the Arrow 3 interceptor missile saw its first operational use on Nov. 9, the outlet reported on Friday.

Britain is the new capital of anti-Israel hate
As their country unites in the face of terrorist evil, ours is exposing a nasty and divided underbelly

London’s marching season: Anti-Israel protestors head for the US embassy in Vauxhall
Ihave spent recent weeks in Israel, and goodness knows this is a country that has plenty of challenges. But one question I have been asked a lot by an alarmingly wide array of Israelis is: “What happened to Britain?”
Generally, I get protective after this question, and reassure people that Britain is still Britain and that our core of decency remains as it always was. But the response is always the same: “But these marches?” Now perhaps they will say “… and the vote?”
‘Without further delay’: Calling Qatari Emir, Biden steps up pressure for hostage deal
Israel said to reject proposed deal that would separate mothers and children, insists Gaza terror groups release them together; Hamas warns Israel not to drag its feet
By JACOB MAGID and TOI STAFF 17 November 2023, 11:43 pm
The United States has stepped up pressure on Qatar to secure the release of some 240 hostages being held by terror groups in Gaza, amid reports that Israel is balking on an initial, partial deal that would keep some mothers in Gaza while their children went free.

- The dedicated funds that this new $10 billion will release can now be used to put the finishing touches on the mullahs’ nuclear bomb – to threaten their Sunni neighbors in the Gulf, Europe, and above all, “The Great Satan, the United States. Iran’s plans for cutting “The Great Satan” (and others) down to size are already underway in Cuba and throughout South America. Earlier this month, Israel helped Brazil thwart an attack by the Iran-backed terrorist group Hizballah on Brazil’s Jews.

The Heroes of October 7
There is a remarkable story up at the Times of Israel today about Oz Davidian, an Israeli farmer who saved 120 people at the Nova music festival that was the site of a Hamas massacre on Oct. 7. When I first opened the article, I thought it was going to be about Youssef Ziadna, a Bedouin minibus driver I read about a couple weeks ago who saved 30 from that festival by responding to a call to pick up a customer from the event. Ziadna drove into Hamas’s attack and drove out with a minibus full of Jewish Israelis who are alive because of him.

Hamas gravely miscalculated how Israel would react
The terrorist group that rules the Gaza Strip never anticipated that Israel would launch an all-out undertaking to destroy it.

While the IDF is engaged in Gaza, in what is becoming a protracted war, aiming to weaken Hamas and secure the release of captives, the main effort by Hamas and its backers has been focused on reaching as prolonged a ceasefire as possible.
Such a ceasefire has operational and tactical importance for Hamas. However, its main significance lies in the strategic arena. Hamas hopes a ceasefire will compel Israel to change its war objectives and revert to the softer approach that the Islamist group initially believed Israel would follow right after the Oct. 7 massacre.
Three in four Palestinians support Hamas’s massacre
Ninety-eight percent of respondents said the Oct. 7 slaughter made them feel “prouder of their identity as Palestinians.”

Slightly more than three in four Palestinians have a positive view of Hamas in the wake of its Oct. 7 terrorist attacks in Israel, according to a survey by the Arab World for Research and Development (AWRAD) research firm.
The Ramallah-based institute polled 668 Palestinian adults in the southern Gaza Strip, Judea and Samaria between Oct. 31 and Nov. 7. (The margin of error is plus or minus 4 percentage points, AWRAD said.)
