It is undeniable that the judiciary and juries in the federal courts in the District of Columbia are almost uniformly left-wing partisans, a key part of the post-constitutional era brought into being by former president Obama. I do not know how or whether this can be rectified, although I expect a resounding victory for Republicans in 2024 followed by a congressional reshaping of the jurisdiction of these courts and their staffing may be the only solution.

Large-scale protests against the regime of President Bashar Assad have entered their second week in southern Syria. The protests originated in – and are focused on – the majority Druze province of Sweida. However, other parts of the country have also witnessed protests and strikes.

Among these areas is Deraa province, which adjoins Sweida, and where the original demonstrations that sparked the Syrian civil war took place in early 2011. Rallies have also taken place in Jarama, areas of Idlib Province, neighborhoods of eastern Aleppo, and in the coastal Latakia Province, host to a large Alawi population – and often considered the heartland and cradle of Assad’s rule.

T. Belman.  I posted the map so that you could see the proximity of the Druze City of As Suwayda to Jordan. As this city gains its independence, it will protect the northern Jordanian border. The same for Nawa to the north of it.

The second article at the bottom mentions Daara as part of the uprising. Perhaps the uprising will go further north to Quinetra thereby protecting Israel’s border. I believe this area is populated by the Druze who are friendly to Israel.

The Jordan Option may be waiting on this development.

T. Belman.  Just imagine if Israel protected Judaism the same way as the EU protects Islam, there would be hell to pay. Nevertheless, Judaism deserves to be protected, Islam doesn’t. Meotti points out that this development is due to Muslim pressure. It is this same pressure that causes the EU and its member states to protect Palestinians and threaten Jews and Israel.

T. Belman. The author is an attorney who previously wrote for Haaretz. Nevertheless he does a good job in describing the HC ruling on the Nationality Law. This is a Google translation of the Hebrew article. I found the article by first getting Google  to translate what I wanted to search for and then I put their Hebrew translation into the Google search.
