From Israel: Appalled and Aghast!!

By Arlene Kushner   August 20, 2021

And with good reason, I add, “alarmed!” The situation as it is unfolding in Afghanistan is over the top.

Here I hope to touch several bases briefly. As Lawrence Kadish, writing in Gatestone, put it: “The horror of President Joseph Biden’s deliberate retreat from Afghanistan is so immense and its geopolitical impact so severe, we have to fully comprehend the extent of the disaster.

The US army, I have learned, left in the middle of the night. How could they have done that??? The Afghanis awoke in the morning and discovered that they were gone.

Biden’s Appalling Mistake is a Watershed for the West

by Gwythian Prins, GATEWAY PUNDIT

  • The main mission was and should have remained one of self-defence. Once this was forgotten, muddle and a sapping of will set in. Moral ambivalence about our values and ourselves, which our enemies do not have about themselves, expressing itself as an embarrassment about using force in our self-defense, meant that softer edges were attached.
  • We needed strategic patience of the sort that has kept US forces on the Korean peninsula, or British forces in Cyprus, for a lifetime of decades. Our leaders, and mainly one, lacked the vision to have that patience and we shall pay a heavy price.

The FDA has authorized an early COVID treatment protocol

By James Stansbury, AM THINKER

After nearly a year-and-a-half and over 618,000 recorded COVID-related deaths in the U.S. alone, the FDA has finally released an emergency use authorization for REGEN-COV, a new drug that was being tested in 2020 (pre-Biden). Primary care physicians can now use it as an early treatment option. Before now, the only authorized COVID-19 early treatment my family doctor had, per the July 2021 update to NIH guidelines, was to recommend quarantine and then wait until symptoms go away or report to a hospital if they get worse. Of note, these updated guidelines continue to identify hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) as a prohibited drug – although this should not be a surprise considering the war on HCQ began soon after President Trump dared to recommend it.

Biden Pulls the Rug Out From Under Israel’s Justifications for Its Occupation

T. Belman. Bar’el has a narrow vision. Yes Israel has played security as the reason she demanded  a permanent presence in Area C. This flows from Res 242 which entitles us to “secure” borders. But the real truth is that it belongs to us according to International Law and The Legality of Israeli sovereignty over Judea and Samaria according to International Law

It is imperative that all Israel leaders state categorically that the land is Sovereign Israeli lands and not Palestinian Occupied lands.

By Zvi Bar’el, HAARETZ

In his 2010 memoir “Decision Points,” former President George W. Bush wrote, “Afghanistan was the ultimate nation building mission. We had liberated the country from a primitive dictatorship, and we had a moral obligation to leave behind something better. We also had a strategic interest in helping the Afghan people build a free society,” because “a democratic Afghanistan would be a hopeful alternative to the vision of the extremists.”

Last month, prior to the takeover of Afghanistan by the Taliban, President Joe Biden took exception to Bush’s approach. “We did not go to Afghanistan to nation-build,” he said. Instead, it was to eliminate Al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden and to reduce the threat of terrorism faced by the United States. This week, in addressing the American people, Biden declared that the “mission to degrade the terrorist threat of Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan and kill Osama bin Laden was a success.”

NYT: What Cutting-Edge Science Can Tell Us About Extreme Weather

T. Belman.  Please comment with links that present alternate views.

I agree that higher temperature can cause extreme weather. But I don’t believe that its been proven that such higher temperatures have been caused by man or that the answer is to cut down on carbon emission.

By Katharine Hayhoe and Friederike Otto, NYT

Dr. Hayhoe, an atmospheric scientist, is the chief scientist at the Nature Conservancy. Dr. Otto is the associate director of the Environmental Change Institute at the University of Oxford and a co-investigator for World Weather Attribution, which assesses the human influence on extreme weather.

Hotter, faster, stronger: That isn’t a tagline for the next blockbuster superhero movie. This is what climate change is doing to many extreme weather events. As the planet warms, heat waves are getting hotter, wildfires are moving faster and burning larger areas, and storms and floods are becoming stronger.

Gantz Postpones Construction Permits for Arabs and Jews in Area C

By David Israel, JEWISH PRESS

According to Kan 11 reporter Carmel Dangor’s tweets late Tuesday night, building permits for more than 800 housing units for Arabs in Area C (under full Israeli control – DI) have not been issued, contrary to the plan. The reason: the Civil Administration Employees Committee decided not to convene the approval committee. A new date has not yet been set for approving the construction plans for the Arabs.

Meanwhile, according to Dangor, the building permits for 2,223 housing units in the settlements, which were scheduled to be issued on Wednesday will also be postponed to an unknown date, also by order of the Civil Administration Workers’ Committee.

President Trump gave an interview to Hannity.

TIERNEY NEWS

1) He can’t announce if he’s running due to campaign finance laws.

2) Trump said his plan for Afghanistan was to remove civilians FIRST, then military equipment – then the solders. Biden removed the soldiers FIRST & then left thousands of civilians there in harm’s way – and billions of dollars of US military equipment to be seized by the Communists & the Taliban. He said Biden literally left our enemies BRAND NEW Black Hawk helicopters paid for by the US taxpayer and military secrets they can use against us.

My views on the Delta variant & the Pfizer mRNA vaccine

By Peg Tierney

I get tons of emails from people asking me what I really think about the Delta variant & the vaccine. Here are my thoughts:

FAUCI: “With Delta, the viral load in vaccinated people is the same as in unvaccinated people!”

CDC: “Among people infected by the Delta variant of the coronavirus, fully vaccinated people with “breakthrough” infections may be just as likely as unvaccinated people to spread the virus to others, new research suggests.”

Trump Rips Biden to Shreds on Afghanistan and Blows up His Excuses

By Nick Arama, RED STATE | Aug 18, 2021 10:30 AM ET

One of the claims you have heard from Joe Biden was that he was somehow locked into the deal that President Donald Trump made in Afghanistan to withdraw, basically blaming Trump. But there are several problems with that argument. The problem isn’t the withdrawing, it’s how it was done in the incompetent way that Biden did it. Not to mention, Biden’s plan even before Trump was just to withdraw and to heck with the allies or whatever mess he left, as we reported. So he can’t legitimately blame Trump now. Read more…

Secretary Austin and General Mark Milley should resign immediately

By Jack Wedam, AM THINKER

We saw Joe Biden’s horrible press conference.  Sixty-nine percent of American disapprove of how he handled the recent debacle in Afghanistan.  Who else was involved in this disaster?  The first domino to fall in Afghanistan was caused by secretary of defense Lloyd Austin and chairman of Joint Chief of Staff General Mark Milley.  According to the AP on July 6, 2021:

The U.S. left Afghanistan’s Bagram Airfield after nearly 20 years by shutting off the electricity and slipping away in the night without notifying the base’s new Afghan commander, who discovered the Americans’ departure more than two hours after they left, Afghan military officials said.

The Afghan debacle will destroy the Biden presidency

T. Belman. Even without it, it was destroyed long ago.

Americans once supported military withdrawal, but they will punish a president who leads the US to defeat

By Frank Luntz and RADM (Ret) Mark Montgomery, FDD

Some people are comparing the chaotic end of US involvement in Afghanistan to the final days of South Vietnam. They’ve got it wrong. What’s happening in Kabul is more akin to the Bay of Pigs under JFK or the disaster in Iran in 1979. That failure cost Jimmy Carter the presidency in 1980, and Afghanistan could cost Democrats the White House in 2024.

President Biden had been flying high in the polls. Thanks to bipartisan support on a host of issues, he had been running 10 per cent above his predecessor at the same point in their respective administrations. With his carefully manicured image and his refusal to face reporters on a daily basis, Biden had looked, for the most part, competent and confident. No longer.
