• Secretary of State Antony Blinken… stated at his inauguration hearing that he had “deep concern about the designation” of the Houthis as a terrorist organization, in that “at least on its surface it seems to achieve nothing particularly practical in advancing the efforts against the Houthis and to bring them back to the negotiating table….” One wonders if the same thinking would apply to Al Qaeda or Islamic State.
• In yet an additional form of appeasement, the Biden administration has been strenuously ignoring the Iranian regime’s aggression and destabilizing behavior….. now, [Iran] is sending a destroyer… and a support vessel… to Venezuela.

Statistics Canada just released the 2018 report of Police-reported hate crimes, but the numbers don’t say what you might think.

Despite what the mainstream media portrays when discussing the topic of racism, in 2018, the Jewish community was, in fact, the most frequent target of religiously motivated hate crimes, with 347 separate incidents — a distinction that they’ve held for more than a decade.

When it came to attacks against Muslims, following a moderate increase in 2017, police reported 176 fewer incidents in 2018, for a total of 173  — a decrease of 50 percent.

The new Diaspora Minister, Nachman Shai (Labor), said on Friday morning that the Bennett-Lapid government would not give up any part of Judea and Samaria.

Shai was interviewed on 100FM, and the host pointed out that a member of the coalition, Ra’am chairman Mansour Abbas, had spoken in Arabic about the return of the “occupied territories.”

In May, when Israelis were attacked by Hamas missiles from Gaza, the criticism from some voices within the American Jewish community seemed not only more intense but categorical, escalating very quickly from what Israel did to what Israel is. In many blue state cathedrals, it was no longer good enough for critics to call themselves “pro-Israel” and “pro-peace” or affirm their Zionist credentials while blasting Israel for real or supposed misdeeds. Echoing social justice talk, dozens of Jewish and Israel studies scholars defined Zionism as “a diverse set of linked ethnonationalist ideologies … shaped by settler colonial paradigms … that assumed a hierarchy of civilizations” and “contributed to unjust, enduring, and unsustainable systems of Jewish supremacy,” while the CUNY Jewish Law Students’ Association more concisely demanded “a Palestinian right to return, a free and just Palestine from the river to the sea, and an end to the ongoing Nakba.” This language effectively denied the need for a Jewish state, thereby declaring war not just on Israel’s existence but on modern Judaism as we know it.

T. Belman, They could submit many rightwing bills and Yamina and New Hope would support them. In fact, the way to bring this government down quickly is for the Right to initiate rightwing Bills which Bennett and Saar couldn’t do on their own. That would incense the Left. If the Joint List can support the government so can the right.

I say this without knowing how Bills reach a vote in Knesset. Anybody?

Bill would grant state greater powers to limit immigration and expel illegal residents, permanently enshrine Citizenship Law.

Opposition Knesset members today (Thursday) submitted a draft bill aimed at regulating Israeli immigration policy and, moreover, the law prohibiting the unification of Palestinian Arab families in Israel.

The Likud has announced that the opposition will advance a ‘right-wing’ law on curbing Arab immigration to Israel: the Basic Law on Immigration to Israel.

In a stunning admission in a June 8 MSNBC interview, former FBI Assistant Director for Counterintelligence Frank Figliuzzi provided a window into the mind of the highest echelons of federal law enforcement and how they are targeting those on the political right.

“In order to really tackle terrorism, and this time domestically,” Figliuzzi said, “you’ve got to attack and dismantle the command and control element of a terrorist group.”

T. Belman. The status quo is not sustainable. The Arabs are fighting to amend it in their favour. The Jews meanwhile only want to maintain it. This passivity is losing ground to the Arab aggression as Shragai points out. Jews must fight for Jerusalem even more vigorously than the Arabs do. It will boil down to the battle of wills. He, who wants it the most, will win.

Recently I watch MK Nir Barkat discuss his Sovereignty Plan in a ZOA webinar. I was very impressed by him. I think he will be Prime Minister when Netanyahu leaves the scene. During the question period he, being a former Mayor of Jerusalem, was asked what is position was on Biden’s plan to open a US Consulate for the Arabs in eastern Jerusalem. He said it was there for many years before Trump and he saw nothing wrong with it being put back there. His answer provoked the following comment from me; “Trump did us a great favour by taking Jerusalem off the table and it would be a grave mistake for us to put it back on the table by allowing the Consulate to return.

New Public Security Minister Omer Bar-Lev effectively supports dividing Jerusalem, even if he doesn’t define it that way. But first, he has to restore order to the city, where Hamas is digging in.

Do you remember how conservatives went out of their way to separate rank-and-file FBI agents from the corrupt actions of Jim Comey, Andrew McCabe, Bill Priestap, James Baker, James Rybicki, Peter Strzok, Lisa Page, and others as more evidence came to light revealing that the top brass at the bureau had worked to create an “insurance policy” that could be used to overthrow President Trump from office?  Writers and television pundits would always couch any criticism of the bureau in some respectful language like “we’re only talking about high-ranking officials here, not the FBI, itself, which is filled with the best agents in the world who are always looking out for America.”

Merriam-Webster defines “pogrom” as “an organized massacre of helpless people – specifically such a massacre of Jews.”

According to the Oxford English Dictionary, OED), the word pogrom entered English from Yiddish which borrowed it from Russian. The OED gives two meanings for the word: “In Russia, Poland, and some other East European countries in the late 19th and early 20th centuries: an organized massacre aimed at the destruction or annihilation of a body or class of people, esp. one conducted against Jewish people” and “An organized, officially tolerated, attack on any community or group.”

The Regavim movement has sent a letter to Defense Minister Benny Gantz and to the Civil Administration (that has authority over Judea and Samaria), demanding that they take immediate action to enforce Israeli law and prevent the paving of a strategic road that would link two key villages under Palestinian Authority control.

The two villages in question are Battir, south-west of Jerusalem, and Husan, further south-west and just moments away from the haredi city of Beitar, both located in the Gush Etzion bloc in the Judean Hills. The Palestinian Authority is planning to pave a road that runs from Har Gilo, just outside the capital, and links areas of illegal expansion north of Battir all the way south to Husan.

A month ago, Tucker Carlson raised concerns over the unusual number of deaths associated with the COVID vaccines.  Prominent “fact-checkers” immediately scrambled to discredit these concerns as “misleading” and “lacking in context.”  FactCheck.org even went on to say, “it’s wrong to suggest that reported deaths in the VAERS System database were all caused by vaccines,” but Tucker Carlson never made this claim.

The news site Revolver provided context with a graph that showed an astonishing 3,000% spike in vaccine-related deaths.  Unfortunately, the article did not provide a link to the source, and the “Open VAERS” website is cumbersome to navigate.  Fortunately, the U.K.-based Daily Exposé provided a direct link to the CDC’s interactive website, so I am forever in its debt.  I was so impressed with the website that I prepared a three-minute instructional video.  Share this video with your doctor.

The new unity government failed in its efforts Wednesday to extend a law barring Palestinians who marry Israeli citizens from receiving citizenship.

Coalition chairman Idit Silman (Yamina) was forced to pull the measure from the Knesset Arrangements Committee agenda upon realizing that she did not have enough votes for it to pass. While the right-wing opposition parties of Likud and Religious Zionism support extending the law, they decided to embarrass the coalition by announcing ahead of time that they would not back the measure.
