Of course Iran’s leaders reject the U.S proposal for a peace agreement. Iran’s leaders perceive diplomatic attempts to end this war as weakness and desperation. And Iran responded with ridiculous demands of their own, that include war reparations, sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, and guarantees against future strikes.

We will have to see how these negotiations play out. However, it seems very unlikely that there is a diplomatic solution to ending this war. Furthermore, any deal that is signed with Iran will be ripped to shreds after President Trump leaves office. Force is the only language Iran’s leaders understand.

Tehran rejects US proposal, Iranian source says

Tehran calls the American offer “excessive,” demands war reparations, sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz, and guarantees against future strikes – as US officials dismiss the demands as “ridiculous and unrealistic.”

Iran has rejected the American proposal for ending the war and set its own conditions, making clear it will not accept Washington’s terms as presented. An Iranian source told domestic media on Wednesday that Tehran insists on ending the fighting on its own terms and timeline. At the same time, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that the initial response to the proposal “is not positive” – effectively negative – but noted that Tehran is still reviewing the details.
