Protecting Israel’s energy interests

Jerry Gordon asks in the New English Review Will Israel Win the Energy Prize in the Levant Basin?

Gordon used to blog with me on Israpundit. We are sympatico. He has a military background, a high finance background and a Zionist background. And he is a terrific journalist.

He writes,

This is one of the more important pieces I have written concerning Israel. It will have broader implications for the 2012 Presidential and Congressional elections.

Very simply it is about Israel as the emerging energy giant in the Middle East surpassing Saudi Arabia as a vital and secure source of the world’s natural gas and oil supply both offshore and onshore.

It is also about important changes going on now in the geo-political
landscape in the region, the EU and in Washington. But this story has had little to no following in the major media.

It is also about predatory behavior by Turkey and surrounding Arab nations increasingly under the sway of Muslim Brotherhood and Salafist extremists, as well as, Hizbullah Iran’s ally in Lebanon.

It is also about President Obama’s denial of support for Israel’s economic stake in the undersea flow of more than 26 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 1.8 billion barrels of recoverable oil offshore in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as more than 260 billion barrels of oil recovered from oil shale on shore in Israel proper. That means that Israel’s GDP of $218 billion in 2010 with growth from oil and gas revenues will likely double that in a decade producing a $43 billion dollar Sovereign Wealth Fund for strategic investments.

Protecting that vital source of the world’s energy developed by a
non-Islamic nation should be both Israel’s and America’s objective. That is why it is important to raise it as an issue in the Republican nomination race and later as an issue for debate with Obama in the run up to the November 2012 election.

I urge you to read his very comprehensive article.

  1. “…under purported NATO command.”

…in about the same way that the British Embassy in Tehran is under British command.

  2. Excellent Bland. Excellent.

As to newfangled energy resources. I am a retired Senior-Fellow Engineer, US DoD Programs and the holder of US patent and development work on Ozone layer subjects. In the process we, more or less 🙂 became familiar with the facts on energy alternatives and recycling.
Unless if we decide to commit species suicide following the path of Chernobyl, Fukushima, 1 Mile station and other such accidents, we should stick to natural gas, oil and charcoal, with special processes improvements. Solar energy could add a bit and full stop.

Israel will rigidly defend its natural gas and oil finds in our economic zone.
Turkey has been provided by the US and retains by order of Mr. Gates and Obama, possesion of 90 B 16 nuclear bombs stationed at the INCIRLIK TAFB under purported NATO command. (Visit INTERNET for details)
Concerned US residents should carefully take care to the effect that those weapons are exited, like NOW!

  3. Bert,

I’m the only one here who can burn water. That’s because I’m such a lousy cook.

On the topic of Israel’s energy supplies, Ezekiel 38 says Israel will burn the weapons of its enemies for seven years after the Gog attack. Of course, all the war machines, such as tanks, will come with hefty stores of petrol; but the booty in weapons-grade and sub-weapons-grade nuclear material should also be substantial.

Zechariah 14 talks about a later war, probably an attack by the main members of NATO under American leadership. That one seems to have a nuclear ending, rather than a prize of booty. Only by a miracle, will the world recover from that episode.

Those Jericho missiles can now reach New York City. I suggest reserving three of them: One for Harvard, one for Yale and one for Columbia.

  4. In all the many discussions about energy it is astonishing how uninformed are the diplomats and the “experts”. They are still fighting over oil and natural gas, which along with coal and nuclear energy, are ALL OBSOLETE!
Read http://www.byronwine.com about the REAL game changers in energy. They include using ordinary water as fuel. See videos and two water-powered cars in Japan and one in America. And read how agencies of the U.S. government have long gone to extremes to suppress the work of inventors with breakthrough energy technologies that can obsolete coal, oil, natural gas and nuclear power along with solar, wind, bio fuels etc., as well.
Water fuel would be a global game changer dealing a severe blow to our enemies including Russia.
The main problem so far is the difficulty in getting leaders in the U.S. and Israel to even read anything about this. There are other excellent web sites about entire families of breakthrough energy technologies but http://www.byronwine.com is still a good place to start. Readers of Israpundit could help by calling public attention to this energy website whenever they can.
