  1. “In any event, I don’t see him (I’m assuming C.R. is a guy) attempting to proselytize…”

    I haven’t either, Dweller.

“Regrettably, he took their declining of his conversionary proposal with all the equanimity of the badly jilted lover in your standard, garden variety, contemporary slasher flick — an ultimate disappointment with obstinate Jewry that he seems to have shared with a comparably disenchanted Prophet Mohammad roughly a thousand years before.”

Ain’t that the truth!! Good point, Dweller. I’ve never connected the two, but now that you mention it, there are obvious similarities (all of them malefic) I hadn’t noticed before.

“— and that it was a passing accomplished entirely without the agency of any human instrumentality whatsoever. . . .”

Got that. “He who rolls a stone…”

    Have a good day, Dweller.

  2. @ Michael Devolin:

“CRs of this world don’t envision a Jewish Israel: they’re concerned with their Christian version of Israel, a version that does not include modern Israel…”

They may not know very many Jews, apart from liberal ones.

In fact, it may WELL be that one of the reasons they hang out here is that they simply cannot pass up the novelty of interacting with non-left-leaning Jews. For such a person, there’s got to be something downright refreshing about such a prospect.

    — C.R. could even be a child of (non-observant) Jewish parents.

“CR’s type blame the ‘sins’ of modern Israel and her Jews for holding up the advent of their new Jerusalem…”

There are both Jews and ‘Christians’ who think that one can “force the hand of God,” move (or retard) the hands on His clock’s face.

    — But then, nobody’s got the market cornered on megalomania.

“CR envisions all Jews as already condemned because of their rejection of JC…”

Frankly, Michael, if I were a betting man (I’m not, but if I were), I’d be putting my chips on the proposition that his ‘condemnation’ of Jews (if that’s what it is) is based less on what he finds in the NT than on what he reads in The Prophets (my OWN intuition at work).

Of all the ancient peoples, only the Jews (and to a very small degree, perhaps the Hittites) made a regular practice of railing bitterly against their own shortcomings, and putting it in writing. Other peoples were no better but they certainlywouldn’t RECORD such observations for others (especially, future GENERATIONS) to see. So one could easily get the idea from Tanach that the ancient Jews were EXTRAORDINARILY sinful — and from this, draw the inference that extraordinary sinfulness was standard behavior for Jews. (Justin Martyr sure-as-Hell did.) If that’s where C.R. is coming from, that’s an issue of ignorance, not necessarily ‘hatred’ (of Jews or anybody else).

In any event, I don’t see him (I’m assuming C.R. is a guy) attempting to proselytize; so his presence here shouldn’t be a problem to anybody.

    “Martin Luther’s vomit”

His stuff isn’t all vomit. Some of it is most sublime.

    — He simply made the mistake of assuming that his own talent for ingratiation & salesmanship skills (as well as a presumptive intellectual seductiveness) were sufficient unto themselves to compel religious fealty from the Jews where nobody else’s had been.

Regrettably, he took their declining of his conversionary proposal with all the equanimity of the badly jilted lover in your standard, garden variety, contemporary slasher flick — an ultimate disappointment with obstinate Jewry that he seems to have shared with a comparably disenchanted Prophet Mohammad roughly a thousand years before.

“I would personally like to meet [C.R.] face to face. I would tell him what my ‘theology’ is all about: it’s a blend of Judaism, Noachism and beaver pond hockey.”

Luther’s “The Jews and their Lies” is certainly a nasty little piece of work.

My understanding is that his death occurred quite shortly after it was published

    — and that it was a passing accomplished entirely without the agency of any human instrumentality whatsoever. . . .

Could be a lesson in there somewhere.

  3. Didn’t have time to finish this morning, Dweller, but I must insist that CR is an anti-Semite, and the typical Christian anti-Semite at that. But that’s just me. You’re far more patient than I (your patience with me proves this!!!). But from my experience, the CRs of this world don’t envision a Jewish Israel: they’re concerned with their Christian version of Israel, a version that does not include modern Israel. CR’s type blame the “sins” of modern Israel and her Jews for holding up the advent of their new Jerusalem, a Jerusalem filled with “spiritual Jews” (read: Christians). CR envisions all Jews as already condemned because of their rejection of JC, regardless of what “affection” he may show those he “approves of” on this blog. I would personally like to meet him face to face. I would tell him what my “theology” is all about: it’s a blend of Judaism, Noachism and beaver pond hockey.

I will not debate this issue with you, Dweller, because I know you already disagree with me about CR and “Curio”. I believe what I believe about both of them, and I will not back down from that position. I despise both of them with a passion. Their type of churces have beautiful copies of Martin Luther’s vomit proudly displayed on the bookshelves (Mennonites love Luther). They don’t fool me. CR has the IQ of a snowball and “Curio” thinks he’s the reincarnation of Paul of Tarsus.

  4. “C.R may also have some crankish perspectives — and per isolated occasion, a socially graceless tone as well.”

LOL!! We agree on that one, Dweller!

Have a good day, my friend. And thanks for the chuckle this morning.

  5. @ Michael Devolin:

“CR, thanks for the laugh this morning: this is the first time I’ve ever read an anti-semite accusing someone else of being an anti-semite. Or as the proverb goes, ‘Look who’s calling the kettle black!’ I’m still laughing. “HE shall have them in derision.”

I may as well take this opportunity, Michael, to respond both to this comment about C.R.’s post[s] and to your closing comments on the earlier thread [“Obama demands that if Israel conquers Hamas, etc”]. Couldn’t get back online before the posting period to that thread elapsed.

Am still not seeing a Jew-hater here. C.R.’s beef is apparently with leftist, left-ish, liberal & Marxist Jews (and perhaps secular ones generally) — who do have a funny way of making those movements & other pursuits into their ersatz religion (even to the point of becoming the High Priests of them) typically as a substitute for the Judaism which they (or their parents) have abandoned or scorned. C.R may also have some crankish perspectives — and per isolated occasion, a socially graceless tone as well.

But cranky, klutzy & clumsy — even if it were 24/7 (which C.R. isn’t) — would still not be synonymous with antisemitic.

It wont happen so long as big daddy -Uncle Sam – says no. So why don’t we just declare a moratorium on the subject.

  7. Dear Ted, I notice that there are 2 comments on this post that have been hidden due to the new “likes” and “dislikes” voting. I would like to voice my opinion that I think this methodology is not appropriate for this forum. First, it is a censorship accomplished automatically, by software, according to how many disagree with it; which is exactly what is happening to Israel in the global forum. Second, I think that most people on this forum are adult enough to decide for themselves what to read and answer to rather than have an automatic software which does not decide on the basis of anything but numbers. The 2 which were hidden today contain nothing which people should be kept from reading and if we dont like it we can respond. I think you should dump the “comment hidden” aspect of the likes and dislikes or we become a Yahoo clone.

  9. Palestinian Authority officially changing its name to Palestine

The Arab dogs and their anti-Semitic confederates can call if palestine until hell freezes over–and it will not make it so; God called it Israel and Israel it is forever, with Yerushalayim as its capitol!

    LOL Well said, Dweller!

  11. Hillary rails against Israel –

Today, speaking at the 2012 Saban Forum on US-Israel Relations, a liberal organization, Hillary Clinton railed against Israel for supposed insensitivity, lack of empathy, and lack of generosity with regard to the Palestinians – even as the Palestinians unilaterally violated all agreements with Israel and attempted to declare statehood, and within days of Hamas firing rockets on Israeli population centers and bombing a bus. http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Peace/2012/12/01/Hillary-rips-Israel

The 2000 year old translation: “Your very existence offends us and causes us distress. Disappear, Jews. Disappear!”

  14. @ Canadian Otter:
I think that it is obvious to all that we are on the wrong side of history. Sooner or later a Palestinian state will come into being. These are baby steps in that direction. The Gov’t of Israel is fully aware that must happen, sooner or later.

  15. Israelis were warned – a billion times

Here is an article written by Prof. Rene Luuis Beres 23 years ago and re-posted by Israel National News in the wake of the UN vote.

“Palestine” More of a Threat than Any Uprising – http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/162659

Worth reading, although maybe too late now. TOO LATE because of the lack of effective reaction by the people of Israel, not because Israel is out of options. They still trust their government and are waiting for it to do something ….

  16. British Foreign Secretary William Hague said he was “extremely concerned” about the Israeli construction plans in what he termed “illegal” settlements. “Israeli settlements are illegal under international law …

being willing to give up land for peace has now been translated as having no legal claims to the land at all: hence branding jewish settlement in the west bank as illegal. This outcome is 100% caused by successive GOI’s who have ignored, and therefore waived, jewish legal rights to settle. The reason it is not an issue is because Israel long ago killed it. If Israel does not claim the west bank and annex it, it will be deemed to have waived its claim, and the rights of all jews, to the internationally guaranteed right of jews to settle west of the jordan river. Last chance to abdicate the “wait and see” policies which can only make GOI a laughingstock. “Wait and see” is the hallmark of the incompetent.

  17. The inscrutable BB: playing his cards closely and slyly or just an incompetent dumb ass?

NEITHER. The truth is that he and other top politicians are bound to the Israeli and international elites.

They have a plan for Israel: PARTITION.

Anything that advances the cause of a Palestinian state is good. So photo ops that show Israeli cops in riot gear confronting Palestinian kids armed with stones are good (that’s why those weekly riots are never banned). And so is Abbas (even on life support) because he’s easier to sell to Israelis than the bearded Hamas. And so is this declaration of Palestinian statehood.

Dear Ted, Mr Netanyahu told the entire country that he envisioned Two States. His goals are clear: a shrunk Israel and an empowered and independent Palestinian State on Jewish land.

    Why the confusion?

  18. “The PA condemned the construction announcement, with President Mahmoud Abbas’s spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, saying that it was a slap in the face of the international community that voted in favor of the status upgrade at the UN”

The more facial slaps the better. However, all the slaps are through the surrogate Lieberman and BB says nothing of importance. The inscrutable BB: playing his cards closely and slyly or just an incompetent dumb ass?
