Khaled Hassan Calls for US to both Sanction Egypt & Withhold Aid

Peloni:  Egypt has increasingly sidelined itself from reality.  Should Sisi persist in this folly, he will find the consequences will be quite costly.

Since October 7th, Egypt has:

– Supported and celebrated Hamas’ terrorist attacks, including through state ministers who issued statements welcoming and celebrating the attacks, as well as referring to Israel as the “Zionist entity”, renouncing Egypt’s recognition of Israel and the Jewish state’s right to exist.

– Allowed and encouraged incitement against Israel and Jews through state-controlled media, including most recently by hosting Egyptian YouTubers who directly threaten Jews with violence and terrorism. One of them threatened to lynch me in “one of Cairo’s busiest streets”, and another threatened to rape my mother.

– Since President Trump’s announcements on the relocating of Gazans, Egypt has been building an anti-Israel, Anti-Trump coalition that threatens to wage regional war against Israel and risks putting US interests in the region at risk.

Consequently, I will be lobbying the US government and members of President Trump’s administration to take the following measures

– Withholding aid to Egypt.

– Sanctioning Egyptian state officials, media figures, YouTubers, and government bodies who explicitly and openly support and glorify Hamas and the attacks of October 7th, starting with Al Azhar.

– If Egypt doesn’t change course, consider additional measures and sanctions against the government.

If you think you can get away with supporting terror and threatening Jews and Americans with violence, you’ve got another thing coming.
