Peloni: On the IDSF briefing today, I explains that what is taking shape in Gaza will fail, but that Trump is allowing the Arabs the opportunity to prove they can get Hamas to demilitarize and disarm themselves, but that it is doomed to failure. Following their failure, the IDF will follow thru and eliminate Hamas. While Or’s conclusions here are quite reasonable, it elevates the level of danger for Israel, as we have already seen with the recent attack on the IDF forces by Hamas.
The conclusion being made here is that Trump is trying to align all the Middle East actors, and so he needs to give the Arabs the opportunity to prove that they can bring results to the table, and failing Hamas disarming itself, Hamas will be destroyed, either by a “proxy”, as Trump referenced in a recent interview, or by Israel. The proxy indicated in Trump’s comments should be understood to be a reference to the Arab force in Gaza, whoever is included in this group, and if (read as ‘when’) they fail, Trump can allow Israel to finish the job without any of the Arabs being able to mount an objection.

I didn’t really get the point about why Vance is in Israel except to keep Netanyahu busy with these “important visitors” when he is out of court. Any ideas??
@dreuveni
Trump met with the Arabs and gained a consensus as to what they will agree to regarding the Trump plan. Now he is having Kushner, Witkoff, Vance and now Rubio all meet with Netanyahu as to what will or will not be accepted by Israel.
Recall further that Trump has recently given Israel a veto on including anyone in the Gaza force to which Bibi objects. This was an important caveat.
