Additional Election Math

PELONI:  The election returns stand with the Right bloc having 53 seats and Israel Beitenu having 7.  So the shot at a Right wing govt with Liberman’s support is a no go, unless something minor changes giving either Liberman or the Right bloc one added seat.  Failing this, the only outcome available to avoid elections or a minority Left-UTJ coalition would be to have Eisenkot join with Likud, but that would require them each to entirely betray much of the promises which they ran on.  Should the Iran war breakout once again, as explained yesterday, Netanyahu’s call for a Zionist govt could give him what he needs to solidify a single vote from the Left Bloc to add to Lieberman.

If the Jewish bloc and/or Lieberman gain seats, such that the Jewish bloc together with Lieberman have 61 seats, another option opens up for a right-wing government, in which Netanyahu would give Lieberman the premiership later in the term.

If no campaign opens up in Iran or if, despite that, Netanyahu fails to bring about additional elections—he might be willing to use this as a last resort, with the aim of completing the downfall of the Iranian regime and bringing about regional peace. Lieberman might also agree to such an outline.

It’s reasonable that the Haredim would support this too if Lieberman agrees to pass a draft law as they wish. What about the High Court? What about the reform? We’ll live and see.

As mentioned, if the Jewish bloc and Lieberman don’t have 61 together, the central option is for Torah Judaism to go into a minority government with the left. It’s possible that Netanyahu will succeed in postponing this if he manages to launch an attack in Iran in the immediate timeframe, see in the reply to the post.

I’m not suspected of being a Ben Gvir fan, but the rise in Arab voting is related solely to the hundreds of millions that were transferred last night in crypto from Iran, Qatar, and Turkey to the environs of Ra’am and the Joint List. Documentation of this already exists; we’ll just wait for the police and Shin Bet investigation and for closing the circle—hopefully soon.
