President Donald Trump and other senior administration officials were evacuated from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner Saturday night after shots were fired.

There was several loud bangs and the Secret Service with guns drawn rushed the press pool out of the room, the Washington Times’ Jeff Mordock, who was at the dinner, reported. Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was seen limping after the incident, according to Mordock.

Trump and First Lady Melania Trump had been talking with mentalist Oz Pearlman, who was slated to host the event, when four shots were heard. Attendees at the event reported Secret Service agents rushed in.

“Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely. The shooter has been apprehended, and I have recommended that we ‘LET THE SHOW GO ON’ but, will entirely be guided by Law Enforcement,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “They will make a decision shortly. Regardless of that decision, the evening will be much different than planned, and we’ll just, plain, have to do it again.”

Trump, who survived two assassination attempts in the 2024 campaign, was evacuated as the ballroom became “chaos.”

The alleged shooter is in custody, Mordock reported, later adding that FBI Director Kash Patel was seen on his phone.

“I see. Will you fight, Mr, President?”

“No. I’ll flee in my striped blue pyjamas. According to my reckoning, they’ll catch me two days later disguised as a woman in the outskirts of Baghdad, after which they’ll chop off my head.”

    “Will your body be dragged?”

“Naturally. The length of the main streets.

“Your plans for the more distant future, Mr. President?”

“Here, approximately, I see my mission as President ended and completed.”

…In my testament, I’ll the recommend the same Garrison Commander who will later betray me.”

    “What are his plans?”

“National unity, I suppose. But perhaps you better contact him personally around November 15. I’m responsible only for my own time-table. And excuse me. I have to hurry to the victory parade…”

“Thank you very much, Mr. President.”

During a press conference on May 11, 2020, CBS News White House Correspondent Weijia Jiang asked in reference to Coronavirus testing, “Why is this a global competition to you if every day Americans are still losing their lives?”, Trump tells her to “They’re losing their lives everywhere in the world. And maybe that’s a question you should ask China. Don’t ask me, ask China that question, OK?”[36][37]
Trump’s interactions with Jiang were criticized by Democratic congressman Ted Lieu as racist and emblematic of his hostility to the press.[33]
