Peloni: Recall that it was Kruschev who warned that America would fall like an over ripe apple, and decades following the fall of his own over ripe regime, the seeds of Soviet narratives is finding some support among the misguided youths in the West who have the dubious benefit of not having learned the import and terror associated with what was once known as “duck and cover drills” (link for those who forgot or never knew this term). Indeed, the cocoon of ignorance and bliss, coaxed along with the guiding hand of state run institutions of education which serve to indoctrinate the young, have come to see the emerging generations of the West fulfilling the prophesy of Kruschev, albeit some 7 decades later. So it is rewarding to hear Rubio reference the truth about the basis on which this prophesy is being sold to the young. The threads of identity which tie a nation together can only serve as the basis on which nationhoods are maintained if that identity is actually valued rather than villified. The Soviets understood this, and America did as well. Yet to promote the globalist goal of seeing nation states fall, this anti Western narrative has been renewed with an ever greater push from within Western nations against their own identities, stripping them of the truth about what made America American and Britain British. Til such time as the West can recall what once made it great and powerful, Western decline will persist to the benefit of the globalist elites as they continue to promote their banter of Western vilification. Western reforms, rather than Western transformation should be the goal of the West, and the distinction between these two dueling agendas is whether there was ever anything remarkable and empowering which made Western society the envy of the world. The truth is that there was, but few under the age of 25 will likely argue that this is true, and herein lies the greatest vehicle on which Western decline continues declining.

It’s official. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Under Secretary of State Sarah B. Rogers agree with me that Third-Worldism is one of the biggest challenges that the United States is confronting, and I’m obviously very glad the notion is gaining traction.
For some reason, it has slipped out of the standard encyclopedia of ideologies even though intellectuals like Raymond Aron identified it early and explained precisely what it would become.
I have warned for a while about its rise in the United States, especially after October 7, and also about how China, Russia, and Iran use it to promote anti-Americanism and conduct information warfare campaigns. Naturally, naming the ideology is the first step toward countering it.
In a statement, Secretary Rubio explained: “For more than six decades, the Cuban regime has been the leading sponsor of radical leftism and Third Worldism in the United States. The State Department is exposing the full history of Cuban espionage and subversion in our country. The American people deserve to know.”
What makes Third-Worldism uniquely dangerous is its ability to not only present itself as a moral creed, almost a secular religion, but also in how it helps advance every single interest but the United States’. Indeed, foreign propaganda usually arrives bearing the marks of an adversary and is discounted accordingly. Third-Worldism, by contrast, speaks in an American vocabulary through Americans in universities, newsrooms, philanthropic foundations, and legislatures, cultivating a domestic constituency that steadily narrows what elected officials consider politically defensible. Beijing, Moscow, Tehran, and Havana understand the strategic value of cultivating these narratives. They benefit from activist movements already inclined to embrace them. After all, a citizen persuaded that his own country’s power is fundamentally illegitimate does more to advance their interests than any intelligence agency could hope to accomplish.
