Arizona 2020: New revelations from ‘the most secure election in U.S. history’

Turns out a hacker got his hands on more than 600,000 Maricopa County voter registrations, including sensitive personal information on many.

Remember how CBS ‘journalist’ Scott Pelley breathlessly touted the 2020 election as ‘the most secure in history’?

Pelley, oh so seriously, touted the statement from White House Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency director Christopher Krebs who calling it just that and then the rest of the mainstream press repeated it in three-part harmony.

Christopher Krebs called the 2020 vote “the most secure in American history” which promptly got him fired. Tonight, in his first interview since he was dismissed, Krebs tells us why he believes the vote was accurate and why saying otherwise puts the country in danger.

Chris Krebs: I have confidence in the security of this election because I know the work that we’ve done for four years in support of our state and local partners. I know the work that the intelligence community has done, the Department of Defense has done, that the FBI has done, that my team has done. I know that these systems are more secure. I know based on what we have seen that any attacks on the election were not successful.

Turns out it wasn’t quite so ‘secure’ as Krebs claimed.

According to the White House’s Government Transparency Task Force, led by independent journalist John Solomon, who examined newly declassified documents:

Today, the White House Government Transparency Task Force released intelligence community and FBI documents detailing an election cyber incident in which a self described hacker extracted 633,000 voter registration files from a Maricopa County site on the eve of the 2020 election.
The FBI expended significant resources to solve the case and even got the suspect to confess. But the Biden DOJ via the U.S. attorney in Phoenix and three state and local prosecutors all declined to prosecute. No accountability.
The episode highlights the threat President Trump raised in his speech a few weeks ago that U.S. intelligence has believed since January 2020 that voter registration data is not well protected.
China has gotten 220 million such files via buying, stealing or hacking. A guy in Arizona got 600,000-plus just by writing a script that bypassed weak security. Both got nonpublic data.
So far, the Task Force hasn’t found any evidence they changed votes. But obviously, there was another door left open to fraud, identity theft, and blackmail from the non-public information, amidst so many other open doors, such as signature matching, motor voter registration, junk mail balloting, ballot harvesting, and open bribery of bums with cigarettes and dollar bills by NGOs, as was documented in Los Angeles, yet everyone’s supposed to expect these elections to be hunky dory, all free and fair.
Independent journalist, and former CBS investigative reporter Catherine Herridge noted this:

 

And as the declassified documents note, the information could be used to manipulate the system to make it very hard for legitimate voters to cast ballots.
Which, don’t we remember, actually happened in Arizona in the 2022 midterm election, when whole systems went down and voters were forced to find other vote-tallying places to cast their ballots, across town, waiting in long lines in what was obviously a bid to discourage them from voting.
They were, ahem, areas with large concentrations of Republicans and MAGA voters.
Just a little glitch, the Democrat authorities assured. Funny how they only happen in some places, and not others.
There has been criticism of the closure of the case, given that the Biden administration may have commanded Arizona’s ruling Democrat allies and lawmen not to arrest anyone in the case. On the other hand, the hacker did cooperate with the FBI and deleted his documents, so, if true, maybe that’s understandable, particularly given prosecutors’ and lawmen’s typical lack of understanding of high-tech problems.
But the news is now out there that U.S. voter registrations are insecure and we know China has already stolen 200 million voter registrations, which it will obviously use for nefarious purposes. One only can hope that sunlight will help to expose more of these problems until its too late to solve the problems, and China, or any other enemy, looking at you, Mexico, will have all they want, which is to say permanent power over what’s left of our country, through the miracle of hacking and election fraud.
