A Comparative Analysis of President Trump and Governor Ron DeSantis’s Real and Potential Policies Related to the Middle East and Adjacent Areas

by Gerald A. Honigman

I recently received the great news that Governor DeSantis has been honored with the prestigious William F. Buckley Award…

Beware that I’ve deliberately used many useful links to help provide readers with information that they would have to spend countless hours, which I’ve done for them, in double checking and sourcing the pertinent material found below.

I met probably the best Governor in Florida history some years ago several times at some of his presentations in Florida before he was Governor.

On one occasion, while others were eating, I saw him alone and walked up to him with my forever timely book,  http://q4j-middle-east.com    and we had a nice 20-minute chat about the Middle East together.

Afterwards, when we both decided to eat ourselves, we got our food, sat down, and continued our conversation.

I subsequently handed him a personalized copy of my beautiful hardback book, he looked me in the eye, and guaranteed that he would personally read it from cover to cover. It’s currently in use in dozens of universities and other institutions of higher learning all across the globe.

Below you’ll read  some more about the great honor he recently received named for the godfather of modern Conservatism, William F. Buckley, Jr…

https://floridapolitics.com/archives/742645-desantis-nr-buckley/

I will never forget one episode of Buckley’s tv program in which he intellectually castrated fellow columnist and Conservative, the rabidly antisemitic and anti-Israel Pat Buchanan.

Despite much opposition in Florida, and hyped up false accusations on various policies, DeSantis has been, on the whole, a godsend to Florida.

When vile and violent anti-Zionist and antisemitic demonstrations and encampments were breaking out and being set up in numerous campuses across America and elsewhere, he moved instantaneously to shut them down in Florida.

With some exceptions due to conflicting interests, his policies on environmental issues have been very good as well.

While, unfortunately, too many secondary as well as higher level schools were succumbing to “woke” curricula, largely being financed and supplanted by numerous millions of dollars being contributed by autocratic, black and other slave working Arab oil potentates, he took steps to limit this damage as much as possible.

Governor DeSantis has at least taken serious steps to minimize this damage.

In comparison, for real estate and other business wheeling and dealing reasons, President Trump and family and fellow real estate moguls have established extremely close ties with Arab trillionaire oil potentates who not only finance and enable Hamas and other jihadi butcher groups like it, but who flood our universities and secondary schools with hard needed cash.

This not only affects what’s taught and included on curricula, but also who gets to teach the subjects as well.

President Trump achieved some noble and great things during his first term in office regarding the strategically important region of MENA and the Arab-Israeli conflict in particular.

But, some very dangerous decisions have been made in this region during Trump’s second term so far. Instead of reinventing the wheel about these problematic policies, please take your time and review the results of my own impeccably researched analyses. I’ve done extensive doctoral work in this area and National Security Policy Studies:

There is no doubt in my mind that, for instance, unlike President Trump or a President Vance, a President DeSantis would never have pressured Israel to let 200 Hamas butchers it has trapped in Gaza tunnels to go free. This is what happens when Hamas protectors and financiers like Qatar are made to be more of a friend by Trump than a victimized Israel.

DeSantis also would have worked to achieve all of the President’s first term accomplishments, like moving the American embassy to and recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s 3,000 year old eternal capital, defunding hostile UN agencies, recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and so forth.

Again, I state this as someone to whom Governor DeSantis looked right in the eyes and pledged to read  http://q4j-middle-east.com  by himself from cover to cover.

He supported the Florida state congress manipulating the election laws in Florida to outlaw citizenry involvement in pursuing any election irregulariities. In other words, only the state officials could expose any skullduggery in the election process which placed them in office. He also outlawed paper ballots, made it easier to get register vote (less secure) and claimed it was all for the security of the vote.

He also took a position on Ukraine, calling it a border dispute between the parties and after his donors balked at him doing so he flipped the script calling the Ukraine war the defining issue of our age, or something to that effect, and he did so in less than a week. During the primary, he was visibly owned and controlled by his donors, flipping his position on the lawfare regarding Trump as well.

He also assembled the only state-wide Grand Jury into the Covid shots but failed to include Brooke Jackson as a witness, when she was the only Whistleblower who had a case in federal court with direct testimony and collected evidence to support the truth of what took place during the trials from which the shots gained their authorization. The result of that Grand Jury was not surprising: no criminality found, calls for better testing of the shots, and increased wastewater detection for future epidemics.

These were the big issues I had with Desantis.

      • Hi Peloni,
If your big issues are correct, Florida should be trying to get rid of him. Is he doing something good for them alongside the above mentioned? Making the elections safer by eliminating the consideration of private personal witness evidence is beyond the pale and the issue with shots for Covid too. To be honest, I don’t remember these stories, but, as usual, I trust your input.

          1. If you watch the first 14min of the following video (which is produced by a significant supporter of Desantis), you will appreciate the issue with Florida’s election laws introduced after the 2022 midterms in Florida:
          https://rumble.com/v2npdas-vigilant-news-interview-raj-doraisamy-florida-ruins-elections-and-desantis-.html

Notably, during the previous session of Florida’s congress, significant election reforms had been introduced, and there were important reforms included alongside the changes made in the legislation signed by Desantis which also prohibited the ability of non state information to be gathered by non-state employees. Also, Desantis could have pulled the bill and restructured it, but either because of his support for the contents of the bill or to satisfy his own political ambitions, he signed it while fully aware of what was in it, despite what is claimed otherwise in the above video.

          2. Desantis talked about Ukraine being a border dispute with no import to the US on May 13 with Tucker Carlson, but by March 23, he was calling for Putin to be held accountable for his invasion following his 5th largest donor sharply critical of the border dispute comment. In truth, Desantis was part of the flock of war supporters who followed after John McCain’s trip to Ukraine, so his comment about the border dispute in Ukraine was likely less honest than he judged acceptable while running for president.

          3. Both Brooke Jackson and her lawyer Robert Barnes complained about her not being called to testify in the grand jury after their very strong statements of support for the Grand Jury in Florida. You can find this documented on more than one of Barne’s hundreds of podcasts, but I can’t tell you which one. Relevantly, the consequence of not being shown evidence of malfeasance, however, is that the Grand Jury would find no malfeasance in the shots, which is exactly what happened.

**I redacted the statement about the paper ballots because I erroneously attributed something from another state to the Florida bill in question. My apologies for this.

        • @dreuveni
          I

s he doing something good for them alongside the above mentioned?

Florida has a great economy, provided real leadership regarding election reform (to a point), the crime rate is low, there are no riots…there is a long list which could answer your question. As a testament to this, Florida is fast attracting more and more people fleeing Dem strongholds by the day. So there is a great deal of good going on in Florida, but my objections to Desantis stand as stated. I didn’t intend to raise these issues in connection to this article which is unrelated to these topics, but I was asked a question about my previous concerns about Desantis. Relevantly, I was initially cautious with regards to Desantis due to his support for fast tracking Obama’s TPP project when he was in the congress, which always raised my globalist detecting heckles. But these other issues took place while he was governor.

          • @Sebastien
You have a good memory. That was, and remains, my very strong concern about Desantis. In his first term, Trump stood up to the globalists of all shades, ignoring calls from donors, ‘human rights’ groups, the UN, the EU, his NATO partners and everyone else, and recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s united capital. I question if Desantis would have the wherewithal to do the same, even with his excellent record of support for Israel, based on what I highlighted previously and again here in response to your questions.

Even ignoring whether he is a globalist or not, his flip on Ukraine was in regards to an important topic. Would he hold firm to support Israel? It remains an uncertain question in my mind.

            • @ Peloni Thank you. Trump is so unpredictable. I just read on Ynet News that he just announced that he will designate the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organizati9n as Texas Governor Greg Abbott just did. CAIR is suing Texas. If they find a dhimmi judge, I wonder if it will wind up in the Supreme Court.
