Peloni: Not only is this true, but it is only possible because of US support for the Jihadi govt in Demascus while also overlooking the many recurring slaughters of minorities over the past year.

A leopard cannot change its spots. Why would anyone think that Syria’s jihadist President Ahmed Al-Sharaa (aka Abu Mohammed al-Jolani) would suddenly transform into a civilized leader and protect the rights of religious minorities in Syria? A critical new mini-documentary tells the truth that’s being largely hidden from the world.
I wrote in November that Trump’s invitation to al-Sharaa to the White House was a windfall for the former Al-Qaeda leader and a victory for the global jihad. Al-Sharaa walked away with a deal that likely surprised even him. He was escorted into the Western fold with recognition as a legitimate dignitary, no longer sanctioned, and even signed on to the global coalition to defeat ISIS.
I went on to explain Al-Sharaa’s background as a jihadist leader who was aided by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to become the new president of Syria. Read more HERE.
Al-Sharaa’s Muslim following has tried to paint him globally as a reformed jihadi, yet they lie outright to the world (or to themselves) about his current deceit and his jihadist history — all at the expense of the persecuted religious minorities of Syria.
The Telegraph published a story last March: “Syria’s rebel leader courted the world. Now his forces stand accused of a massacre,” reporting that al-Sharaa’s government massacred “allegedly” 750 members of minority groups – Alawites, Christians and Druze.
The murders have continued.
According to Christian Solidarity International, a delegation of Syrian minorities participated in a press conference in Geneva on September 9, 2025, and their testimonies have “voiced a shared concern”:
Without international engagement, Syria’s minorities will face extinction. The Alawite, Druze, Christian, Kurdish, and Yazidi speakers all described the same pattern: targeted killings, forced displacement, arbitary arrests, destruction of cultural sites, and systematic efforts to erase their presence.
Rawan Osman, the Damascus-born activist who led the delegation to Geneva, stated: “The explicitly Islamist government that al-Sharaa is building ‘offers no future for Syria’s minorities, no protection for non-Muslims, no space for diversity.’”
Last July, the European Parliament adopted an Urgency Resolution, calling for the protection of Christians and other minorities in Syria following targeted attacks.
When al-Sharaa and his jihadi forces finish wiping out Syria’s minorities, he’ll then turn full attention to, guess who? Israel, of course, as is stated (at the end of the film) by his very own soldiers of jihad, who vow that “Muhammad’s army will return!”
“The Jihad Against Syria’s Minorities: A Documentary Call to Act,” by Steven Emerson, Investigative Project on Terrorism, February 2, 2026:
“The Jihad Against Syria’s Minorities: A Documentary Call to Act” is a 4-minute mini-doc that chronicles the harrowing systemic persecution of vulnerable minority religious populations by the new Islamist leader of Syrian regime, “former” terrorist Ahmed al-Sharaa.
This investigative video reveals a brutal campaign of ethnic cleansing orchestrated by the new Syrian government and jihadist factions against Druze, Christian, Alawite, and Kurdish communities. Through chilling footage of summary executions, the destruction of holy sites, and the release of ISIS fighters, the video illustrates a country descending from political revolution into religious extremism and state-sponsored terror.
Produced by Steven Emerson and The Investigative Project on Terrorism, this film serves as a critical call to action for an international community that has largely ignored these atrocities. It specifically highlights the betrayal of our Kurdish allies as well as the murderous jihad waged against the Christians and Druze.
This is a horrific story largely suppressed by the elite media. …
