  1. I am personally troubled by Mamdani’s policy proposals. Defunding the police, as Dershowitz says will result in increase in crime especially in minority and poorer neighborhoods. My daughter and her husband and two sons live in central Harlem, so this is worrisome to me as mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.

He has also suggested the city seize property as a means of paying for all the free things he wants to give out, such as free college.

City run groceries are doomed to fail, as governments cannot run businesses better than private owners can.

All the proposals, especially about charging Zionists outside of Israel with genocide and taking away their property are meant to stir up outrage and unlikely to actually be put in action.

Marxism as an economic system has failed everywhere it has been tried. Even the CCP realized it had to utilize businesses to bring in revenue.

Essentially Marxism is theft: the government steals everything it wants supposedly to create a” worker’s paradise”, and in the end the government cannibalizes everyone and eventually its own self. In the gulags, the only criminals who were allowed to perpetrate crimes and go unpunished were the thieves, and they took things just for the sake of taking them. Often they took very small personal items that meant a lot to the person who kept them, and were, in and of themselves, meaningless to the thief.

The Marxists today proudly proclaim the failed policies of Marxists of the past, and are in complete denial about how Marxism proved to be an utter failure.

The Marxism of the CCP was built by the Soviets, and it survives because it has cannibalized all the businesses in the country, all businessmen must do whatever the party demands of them. The people of China are cowed by terror tactics and know they dare not disagree with the government. Whomever thinks this is an example of successful Marxism needs their head examined. It is an example of a totalitarian terror state nothing more.

I hope the good people of NYC survive Mamdani’s mayorship. I also hope once they experience the utter failure of all his policies, they will turn away from Marxism. Only by experiencing it themselves will they realize the mistake they made in voting for him.

  2. Nationwide, 63 percent of Americans support the present level of U.S. Aid to Israel or think it should be more. Even if it’s down 7 percent, mostly among dems, that’s a mandate, even if JNS chooses to focus on how empty the glass is.

Though what this article doesn’t discuss, which is scary, is that an enormous number of Gen Z’ers (age 25 to 24) are anti/Israel or even pro-Hamas. Bibi is wise to aim to eliminate dependence on foreign military equipment production.

I wish Osem, the Israeli ketchup, was cheaper. Must be the tariffs. I bought a bottle imported from Israel on Amazon. It was $26! But it’s much better tasting than Heinz. And healthier. 25 percent Less sugar, though Heinz makes a no sugar added version. And just a little goes farther. Trump exacted a 15 percent tariff on Israeli goods. I remember when Heinz lost a court battle about who could call their product ketchup in Israel because Heinz has practically no tomato in it. ?

Serendipitous that Brenner mentioned ketchup in the beginning. I wrote this before listening to it.

    • Definitely! The ghost town NYC will become if Mamdani takes over reminds me of the NYC of the future depicted in the 1968 movie “Planet of the Apes,” with Charlton Heston (a true conservative) screaming at the end of the movie, “Ah, damn you! God damn you all to h_ll” as he spots the Statue of Liberty, half-buried in sand and muck on the beach!

      • @Marc Caroff Roseanne Barr got personally cancelled for saying something like that. The station is offering to bring Jimmy Kimmel back for an apology and compensation. They wouldn’t accept her apology. How about they put her podcast on the air, too, if they bring him back. Isn’t there some kind of a law requiring equal political representation? Though they really should just hire apolitical entertainers like Johnny Carson.
