Peloni: Yishai Fleisher details the strong support which was shown for Israel by many of Trump’s key appointees. It is pivotal to recognize, however, that as Trump’s administration supports Israel and condemns Iran, it remains notably silent on any condemnation of Qatar, a fact which Fleisher does raise in regards to Rubio, but should be understood to be true of the entire administration. Qatar is far too well considered by people who should have a far greater awareness, criticism and outrage of the role played by Qatar in keeping the hostages in Gaza, and this includes American citizens as well as those of Israel and many other nations. The slaughter of October 7, and the subsequent murder of the hostages seized that day, which again include that of American citizens, are the work product of the terror subsidizing Qatar. Hence, rather than including people with views and interests which are sympathetic to Qatar, Trump’s administration should have been staffed with those who would have recognized the corrupting power and influence which Qatar projects around the world and throughout the US, and the considerable danger this influence portends for America and American citizens. The integration of Qatari supporters into the current administration will come to play a key conflict of interest for Trump’s administration, particularly as Trump is taking steps to fundamentally reshape the Middle East, which should be reshaped without the input and corruption of Qatar. Qatar is not an asset to the US in this or any context, as it remains a mortal enemy of the US, Israel, and the entire Western world.

Time to fly the B21 Raiders to the ME and to put them in action.
I wouldn’t be surprised in Israeli pilots are being trained on these fancy toys!
No time to play chess with the ayatollahs.
Go for the Russian roulette.
Nobel prize! You can’t be serious.
First it was bho for doing NADA and Qatar for making the conflict possible with Iran! Oy Vey!
What about Qatar corrupting US Academia!
@keelie
Yes, but here is where the rubber meets the road – Qatari influence over US officials in no small part remains a threat to Iran being defeated.
Notably, it isn’t just that Qatar is not being labeled as the terror hub of the region, which would be reasonable, as the Special Envoy for the Middle East is calling for Qatar to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, even as they have not forced their client terror proxy, Hamas, to release the last US citizen, much less all the others. Qatar is Iran’s wrench within the US political realm, and its influence has been quite effective in keeping the position of the Mullahs safe for quite a long time now. For this to change, it will require that Qatar’s influence be eliminated from those in positions of authority and influence in Washington, and this has clearly not been achieved with Trump’s initial cabinet choices. As this is the case, the Mullahs continue to have an allies in the very power center which will decide whether Iran will or will not be defeated as you note is a necessity.
I would say one step at a time. First Iran, which, once defeated, will leave Qatar “naked and afraid”…
