Peloni: The appointment of Koch-allied anti-Trump Daniel Davis to become Trump’s Deputy Director of National Intelligence on Mission Integration is very disturbing. Davis’ perspectives on a whole host of topics, including Israel, are completely contrary to that of President Trump, as explained in the Jewish Insider article linked below. Beyond the JI report, Davis’ lack of respect for Trump, personally, is clear. It should be noted that just one month ago, Davis made his lack of respect for Trump quite clear as he described Trump as being disconnected, manipulated and “highly influenced by Netanyahu” while analyzing Trump’s Gaza Emigration proposal with fellow anti-Trumper Chas Freeman. Given the fact that Davis’ will play a key role on DNI Gabbard staff, while recalling Gabbard’s own disturbing positions on Israel over the years (here, here, & here), it begs the question as to from where the suggestion to appoint Davis might have arisen. To be honest, I can’t believe Trump would appoint Davis to any role if these facts were known to him.

SCOOP | @DanielLDavis1, a senior fellow at the @defpriorities think tank with a record of strident criticism of Israel, has been tapped as a deputy director of national intelligence, three sources told Jewish Insider. @marcrod97 reports:https://t.co/kzFAuLU7yA

Any guess as to why Trump would do this? I don’t think that he is totally clueless regarding his upper echelon officials, and I also don’t think that he is anti-Israel. So, what’s up? Is he working some kind of larger plan or strategy?
So the pro-Iran, anti-Israel Davis nomination was Gabbard’s pick. As I wrote about Gabbard previously,
Why Is Gabbard’s Judgement So Bad? And Why This Is So Relevant
Her choice of Davis should be seen to be a clear indication of Gabbard’s own interests and values, as opposed to the assertions of her views being remotely aligned with Trump. Positioning someone such as Davis in the role he was to play in Trump’s administration would have allowed him the access and control to manipulate Trump’s perceptions by manipulating the intelligence which Trump would be reading, something which I noted was a concern when Gabbard was being confirmed.
While Davis is reportedly now gone, the person who tried to place him in such a significant and sensitive position as he was to play is still present, and that should concern us all.
TOI
Politico has now published a report confirming the original JI story of Davis’ appointment, citing Dem Sen. Warner as their source.
@Laura Loomer
Doesn’t sound like rocket science to find out who hired him. Just ask the question…
And I hate to say it; “disturbing positions” on Israel abound, which is why Israel’s military independence (shall we say) is the key to it’s ultimate success.
