Saudi Scum Slice Heads Off Left and Right
Saudi Arabia, the family business masquerading as a country, is not only a center of Islamist terrorism; the oil-soaked sandbox that brought us Binladen and 9/11 and holds much of the energy-dependent world hostage is also a center of … barbaric … beheadings.
Earlier this week, for example, the duplicitous, decadent regime sliced off the heads of four alleged Sri Lankan robbers and then left their headless bodies on public display in the capital of Riyadh.
Human Rights Watch said the four men had no lawyers during their trial and sentencing, had been badly beaten, and were denied other basic legal rights. Standard operating procedure for Saudi Arabia.
The group called on Saudi Arabia to halt all pending executions and retry those remaining on death row.
Lots of luck. Saudi Arabia follows a fanatic interpretation of (inherently intolerant, violent, and essentially ugly) Islam that calls for people convicted of murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery to be executed in public with a sword. Beheaded bodies are only displayed when there is a specific court order in cases considered particularly offensive.
Saudi officials did not respond to a request for comment on the Human Rights Watch report.
Forty five men and 2 women were beheaded in 2002, 52 men and 1 woman in 2003, and 35 men and a woman in 2004. Executions rose in 2005 with 88 men and 2 women being beheaded and then reduced to 35 men and four women in 2006.
The executioners take great pride in their work, and the positions are passed down from one generation to the next.
