French ultimatum to Israel: Accept PA demands or else

Plans for French peace conference support PA demands, include thinly veiled ultimatum to Israel.

By David Rosenberg, ARUTZ SHEVA

The French government is planning an international peace conference to reach a final status agreement between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA) – and it appears that France is placing the burden of reaching a settlement on Israel.

On Tuesday French officials met with representatives of both Israel and the PA to present the basic framework of the peace conference. According to an AP report, the conference is being planned for this summer.

France’s proposed peace conference would include not only Israel and the Palestinian Authority, but the US, European powers, and other Arab states. Should the effort fail to produce a negotiated final status agreement, France says it will act unilaterally to recognize a Palestinian state; a thinly veiled ultimatum to Israel.

The announcement of the planned peace conference comes on the heels of opposing statements on Monday by Israeli President Reuven Rivlin encouraging a return to direct bilateral talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and Palestinian Authority (PA) Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malkirejecting any direct negotiations with Israel.

The adoption by France of a broad, multilateral model for the conference appears to be a tacit endorsement of the PA’s refusal to participate in direct talks.

The PA expressed support for the French plan, while Israeli officials declined to offer any official reaction.

  1. @ babushka:
Babushka, these videos of cats and dogs are priceless.
The one with the skunk must be a communist skunk. Everyone runs as soon as they notice it.
    Quigley=Skunk

The word in Spanish is “mofeta”
    mofeta = skunk = Quigley.

    All communists really stink.

  2. The EU is nothing but a Marxist trap trying to destroy the nation-state of Israel, as it consumes itself, too. Skip it Bibi!

  3. Gov’t quietly approves EU-funded illegal Arab construction

Government avoids enforcing demolition orders of EU-funded illegal buildings. Illegal Arab land grabs ‘not a top priority,’ say officials.

The Supreme Court subsequently dismissed the case on Wednesday, rejecting claims by Regavim, an NGO which monitors illegal construction in the Arab sector, that the state is intentionally avoiding enforcement of building laws.

“The state hasn’t renounced [its role] in enforcing the law”, argued the state’s counsel, “but right now there are other priorities, including security considerations regarding resources and manpower”

I suppose some here will make excuses but I am not suprised…. As I said before over and over again to Ted and Bear Klein:
BB turned a blind eye to the euro building for 7 years and just tried to demolish a couple of tents and outhouses to pretend he was doing something. This demonstrates that he had a prior agreement for them to build illegally, but has been trying to cover it up and when caught in the act stepped forward with his stupid outhouse demolitions expecting that Israelis are fools and buy his pretend BS that he is right wing. I am sure the euros are still building even now. That is why BB never has a plan B on anything. I am sure the building, the labeling, etc has all been prior agreed and its just about fooling his constituents that he is doing something on their behalf. I suspect that even the Iran drama with Obama might have been a fabricated drama also and that what we are really witnessing is a prearranged drama by the players to fool the Israeli street, the pal street, and the euro street…. all have to give crumbs to their squeaky wheels so the experts create a drama showing they tried and struggled to kill time as they acclimate their consiituents to a slowly evolving new status quo
the right needs to know BB is fighting on iran, labeling, the building, etc etcet so we see E1, Levy, etc etc
Abbas pals need to know that he is fighting for them so he gets prioners, a faux state, lots of rhetoric etc etc etc
The euros need to satisfy their clamoring anti semites so they give them the building the labeling etc etc
The GCC need the pal issue quiet to raise jihadis for their proxy war which BB benefits from so he gives them soft treatment of the pals, etc etc.

I am becoming very cynical that there might be a lot of fabricated drama to satisfy those at the two ends of the spectrum in all the constituencies.

One thing is sure in my mind: BB always knew about the building, he agreed with them building and he will continue to let them build. I think BB does this because he thinks he can get a better deal at the end from the euros and GCC and abbas after a few years of a status quo and for the benfits of the GCC war against Iran. However, I think he might be overly enthusiastic about their cooperation which I beleive will end as soon as it becomes efficacious. However, there is the possibility that the GCC does want a new paradigm with Israel because their stability is in question and they need the west for a bolt hole plus there are big bucks likely to be made in the med and north african energy fields. The measure will be how the GCC and arabs handle their anti semitism in raising their children, without that it means they plan to continue the same in the future even if they accomodate now.

  4. When I was in school, my professor was a Trotskyist. I read the literature and attended some rallies. He told me that I had “potential”, that I could become a party organizer. Alas, my crypto fascist dark Jewish side prevailed (which was good for the communists, because whenever I organize a party the neighbors invariably wind up calling the cops. I really must stop inviting Obama and Trump supporters as they drink to wretched excess).

You commies are better off without me, Felix. I am a lowly running dog of the imperialists.

  5. Babushka

That’s all he does, and how does Israel benefit? He plays and he stalls and he finagles and he flatters and…what happens? The objects of his blandishments give Iran $150 billion and a clear path to nuclearization.

Playing the game does not work, because the name of the game is “Let’s Kill The Jews”.

You have summed up the international situation very well indeed.

I am not sure though what Israel should do. As you suggest nothing is posible under Netanyahu.

Yet our decisión to back Netanyhau against Herzog/Livni inthe last election was correct because by now they would have gone far out to créate the Palestinian State.

But many Jews are now realising that to be “patriotic” is not enough. There must also be a means of fighting.

I think we are coming to the end game of the Ted Belman type of approach, and Ted is not the exception but the rule.

And of course Yamit sits in his desert preening himself because he has the “Samson Option” but that is the ZERO solution is it not.

Robert Spencer thinks he can win by publishing facts. But that is not so either.

Babushka you hate communism but soon you need to start learning from Trotsky. But that is impossible for you and Ted

  6. So Bibi will try to and play this game

  7. @ babushka:
    Wrong again, babu-UN.

I will graciously forgive your impudence because it is obviously impossible for you to maintain lucidity while submerged in a tar pit. Representing one’s interests at a kangaroo court is irrational, especially since Israel has no interest in lobbying implacable anti-Semites.

  8. A distraction? Yes. To enable Iran? No.

This is a last gasp of the headless chicken of internal Moslem appeasement.
The stupidity of (once again) a static analysis is the assumption that the curtain won’t fall and the actors won’t be replaced in act II.

The new government in France will not be concerned with appeasing Moslems and its Jews will be leaving for Israel out of the misguided fear of the rise of the French right.

    All bets are off.

  9. @ babushka:
Wrong again, babu-UN. Israel will be there to make certain it’s positions are not mis-represented.
It has to be handled properly, like chronic athlete’s foot.
It is the same scapegoating, ratcheted up.

  10. its not an ultimatum its more likely a distraction from the french rush to make billions from Iran. Neither abbas nor BB want it but it will waste more time keeping the status quo, which abbas and BB want.

  11. Nothing on the ground will come from this stupid French idea. Once again in history the French are trying to make themselves more important on the backs of the Jews.

The German’s have already said the time for a two state solution is not now. The USA has also said this but they want to preserve the concept for the future.

So Bibi will try to and play this game just so no UN security resolutions are voted against Israel on behalf of the Pals. The French may recognize a PA state that and 800 shekels (~$200) will get you a nice room in a hotel with an Israeli breakfast. It will not create a Palestinian State but France will actually loose more influence with Israel, as they already have by making the proposal.

Israel has said they would negotiate directly but the Pals refuse.

  12. This is the ultimate litmus test of Netanyahu’s sanity. If he participates at the Snailfest, it is confirmation that for all of his vigilant rhetoric the prime minister completely fails to embrace reality.

  13. A joke…France succeeds to have Abbas and Netanyahu at the same table, somewhere in France.

If the joke can be realized, then France can try to place ultimatums on both parties. If the Palestinians won’t participate, then France should rule in favor of Israel.

The Palestinians want to keep the US and other foreign aide monies pouring in. This foreign money would stop as the Palestinians become independent and have to issue their own currency. (Whose currency would they use, if not their own?)

As a state, tunnels terrorism and Hezbollah incitements must stop. Hezbollah would be recognizing Israel and the Palestine land as it is now is and would have to stop promoting young jobless youth to suicide.

Audits of the financial aid given Abbas would stop a lot of
“one dollar for you, one dollar for me”
another dollar for you, two dollars for me. …

All foreign aide would begin to be audited closely, as the smearing to “Keep the leaders happy”, as a necessary way to keep Abbas and crew happy would end.

My beliefs are that nothing is going to change.
