Things happen for a reason. If pulling out the US troops from Syria finally pushed Mattis out the door, it was well worth it! So long Mattis and good riddance!
Underlying every one of Caroline’s points, is that Gen. Mattis was just too opionated for his own good, because his opinions did not match those of the president and of the American people.
So far, the Dept. of Defense, and the State Dept., and pretty much every other department, have been “Departments of NO”. That’s why they call Washington “The Swamp”. President has been the first president in recent history, to seriously threaten the Slimeocracy; and they have been in full-scale panic for two years because of it.
