History of Gaza In Biblical and Post-Biblical Times [Power Point Slides]

Peloni:  Gaza is Jewish land.  It held the blood and bodies of Jewish lives going back 35oo years.  This fact was recognized in both the demarcation of boundaries set for the League of Nations Mandate of Palestine, as well as in subsequent defensive wars brought upon the people of Israel by her enemies over the years.  To permanently excise this land from the people of Israel is not just a violation of standing international agreements, it will stand as a reward of slaughter and a mark of shame against all who might support doing so.

  1. This is so important! There needs to be mass media of every kind emphasizing and illustrating every aspect in every century of this history, including films and novels. Here’s another famous blast from the past:

    AI Overview
The quote “We have not taken a foreign land; we do not hold the property of others. Rather, the land is our ancestral inheritance taken from us lawlessly” was said by Judah’s brother, Simon the Maccabee, not Judah.
    Context of the quote
Source: The quote is from the First Book of Maccabees, a historical text detailing the Maccabean Revolt.
Speaker: Simon the Maccabee, who took over leadership of the rebellion after Judah and Jonathan died.
Recipient: A general representing the Seleucid king Antiochus VII Sidetes, who demanded that the Maccabees cede control of certain territories, including Jerusalem.
Purpose: Simon used the statement to justify the Jewish presence and control over the land, asserting their indigenous and ancestral right to it in response to being called occupiers by the Seleucid forces.
