Iran and Qatar must ultimately be held accountable for the war which they began, they must be held accountable for the butchery of October 7, and the savagery wrought upon the innocent people held in captivity for more than 500 days. The problem with Stage I of the deal forced on Israel by Middle East Envoy Steve Witkof while in consultation with Qatar is that none of this was addressed or even considered, but was in fact entirely ignored while pretending that Hamas alone was the sole aggressor in this war. The problem with Stage II is that this initial problem developed in Stage I is maintained indefinitely, and even if the unlikely possible result of Stage II would include that Hamas does not survive, it provides that Qatar retains its Major Non-Nato Ally status while both they and the Mullah’s in Tehran face no repercussion for the worldwide campaign celebrating the barbarity which they brought against Israel, thus leaving the organizing factions of the murder of citizens of nearly three dozen countries to go unaddressed. This must be seen as unacceptable by all rational or any civilized people, much less by those who were the specific target of this well orchestrated crime against humanity.
Indeed, the slaughter of so many innocents must not be excused with just the release of those tortured souls still being tortured after 15 months in the Dungeons of Hamas, paid for and organized with the aid and consent and guidance of Iran and Qatar. Of course, Hamas must be eliminated, ripped from their mole holes, and wiped from existence, but this war is a war which was organized, subsidized and carefully arranged with the involvement of both Iran and Qatar, and any deal which removes any consequences for these two nations, simply provides them with an unfettered pathway towards doing so again, as is their clear intent as well as their ideological obligation. Such a lopsided Faustian bargain must not be deemed to be acceptable, nor should it be accepted under any pressure, but even if some deal might be pursued to gain the release of the 3 dozen souls or more which are still held in suspended torture as some chit towards the survival of the organizers of butchery in Tehran and Doha, that bargain must include clear and penalizing penalties for the managers of this war, which is and always was centered in Iran and Qatar. Notably, any deal struck with such personified evil as currently leads these two terror states, leverages the stability of the region and the security of Israel against the living and the dead which are now counted as inventory by Iran and Qatar in Gaza, making this medieval practice of Jew Ransoming following a Jew Hunt impossibly dangerous to accept, even as many continue to pretend that doing so is feasible under any circumstances, much less under the very limited terms being considered in what should be accurately termed as Stage II of the Deal To Secure the Next October 7.
John Galt IV – Would be nice to be able to correlate the beneficence of Qatar to the proximity of the US military in that country.
Obama and the Democrats love Iran and Islam but hate Israel and Bibi – there’s that explanation.
Qatar has bribed our think tanks like the Brookings and all the “Elite” Colleges:
https://www.timesofisrael.com/awash-in-qatari-money-have-us-campuses-become-incubators-for-dohas-interests/ – see below paragraphs:
“Among other schools, Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh received $301 million from Qatar between 2020 and 2023. The Virginia Commonwealth University received $125 million between 2019 and 2023, and Georgetown University received $210 million between 2015 and 2023, according to the federal register.
Harvard, which has been embroiled in an antisemitism scandal that led to its president’s resignation, has taken over $8 million from Qatar since 2020.
At the top of the list is Cornell, which has received a whopping $1.5 billion from Qatar since 2015.
$4.7 billion buys a lot of votes.
Agree totally: The culpability of Iran and Qatar in most, if not all, terrorist acts (including marches and riots in Western streets) is not “rocket science” to be understood.
Having said that, there’s something missing in all of this. I can’t put my finger on it, but Iran is still being discussed in hushed tones, while Qatar isn’t being discussed at all. These are my perceptions. And these perceptions apply to the US as much as the rest of the world.
Meanwhle Bibi is being discussed ad nauseam…
