Iran Isn’t Building a Civilian Nuclear Program

Linda Goudsmit: History is repeating itself in President Trump’s latest trade deal folly with Islamic countries in the middle east. Long-term/short-term thinking is the ideological black hole of trade deals with Islamic countries in 2025, just as it was when Nixon/Kissinger opened trade with Communist China in 1971. Islamism and Communism are both binary, expansionist, socio-political, totalitarian ideologies of rulers and ruled. Whether religious or secular, they are both doctrinal variations on the supremacist theme of absolute totalitarian control. Like Communism, Islam has a long-term strategy and never ever varies from its ultimate goal of totalitarian control. Islam tells the world that there will be peace on Earth when all the world is Muslim. Communism tells the world that it is Communism’s destiny to rule the world.

The problem with President Trump making trade deals with Muslim countries, is the same problem Nixon/Kissinger had making trade deals with China. President Trump is thinking short term. His trade deals enrich the American side in the short term, and empower the Communist/Islamic side in the long term. China tried to collapse the United States with the wealth it amassed being America’s trading partner for 50 years––and the Muslim countries will do the same in the long run. Why? Because “Death to America!” is DOCTRINAL! President Trump is making the same mistake today that Nixon/Kissinger made 50 years ago. The difference today is that American technology will be used against us, not just the wealth that Muslim countries will amass by expanding their influence beyond oil.

Trump is a Western businessman who functions in real-time, and Muslim countries are doctrinally religious and function in centuries. They do not care how long it takes to make the world Muslim—they practice taqiyya (lying in the service of Islam). They will make the deals with Trump, and wait until he is out of office or dead, to use their technological gains from the Trump deals to strike Israel, and then to strike the United States.

Ideologically, President Donald Trump will ALWAYS do what is in America’s interest, and it is always in America’s interest to have a free, sovereign, strong, allied Jewish State of Israel in the ME. After all, the enemies of freedom are attacking the Judeo-Christian tradition. Our America 1st president just needs to understand that Islamism and Communism are both long-term doctrinal enemies of our constitutional republic, no matter what trade deals are forged in the short-term.

Iran has some of the cheapest electricity prices in the world. A country where electricity is vastly cheaper than America isn’t looking to lower power costs. Iran is not interested in peaceful applications of nuclear energy, but in nuclear weapons. That’s why it’s been willing to lose $1 trillion and go to war to protect its nuclear program.  Pictured: Former Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Ali Akbar Salehi in Bushehr Nuclear Plant. • [T]he Obama administration and some figures in the current administration insist on pretending that a deal can be made to keep Iran’s nuclear program peaceful.

  • Defenders of rebooting Obama’s 2015 JCPOA Iran nuclear deal have taken to calling critics “globalists,” and claim that bringing back Obama’s old policy is somehow “America First.” They insist that being realistic about Iran’s nuclear program is a plot by the military-industrial complex and the CIA.
  • But it was the CIA and the ‘intelligence community’ that bailed out Iran during the George W. Bush administration, by falsely declaring in the 2007 National Intelligence Estimate that “we judge with high confidence that in fall 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program.”
  • The Trump administration can… maintain sanctions, it can take out the program, or it can do absolutely nothing. But it should be clear-eyed about what Iran’s nuclear program is and what it’s for. Deals with terrorists and terror states are worthless. Any agreement with Iran can only end one way, and that’s with a terror state whose motto is “Death to America” gaining the ability to carry out that threat against us.
  • Iran’s civilian nuclear program is as much of a front as a mob chain of pizza parlors. Negotiating with Islamic terrorists is a waste of America’s power and credibility. And it seduces those who negotiate with terrorists into believing that a deal is possible no matter how high the red flags fly.

Iran has some of the cheapest electricity prices in the world. The average cost of electricity in the United States per kilowatt-hour is $0.181.

In Iran it’s $0.004/kWh.

A country where electricity is vastly cheaper than America isn’t looking to lower power costs.

Iran joins Libya, Kuwait, Iraq, Oman, Qatar and other oil-rich countries as having some of the cheapest electricity prices in the world. Countries with vast energy reserves and production don’t need nuclear energy the way that Germany or France, which depend on imports, do.

Saudi Arabia, with $0.053/kWh electricity, did not begin pursuing a nuclear program because it needed to lower its energy costs. Neither did the UAE. The Saudis and Emiratis became interested in developing a “civilian” nuclear program only as Iran’s nuclear program took off.

  1. Of course Iran isn’t seeking to build nuclear energy plants. That’s a given.

Although I normally agree with Linda, I don’t this time. She forgets that it was solely Trump long before he was president who tried his best to alert Americans and the world to the dangers of China. He couldn’t have been more right. So she need not lecture him about the folly of making trade deals with enemies. International trade is very complex. I’m sure you recall the many back channel military trade deals struck by Israel and Iran and other muslim states.
More to the point: Trump is no fool. He is trying to negotiate peace deals throughout the world. In so doing, he is meeting with his and Israel’s enemies. Of course he will say nice things to terrible world leaders in order to try to win them over. He knows that it would be a huge insult to decline any gift (even a billion dollar plane) from an arab leader. There is absolutely nothing to gain by going to Qatar and tell their leader to his face and publicly that he is public enemy # 1 by sponsoring terrorists like Hamas. This is his way and always has been. Nothing new here. You recall when he visited Kim Jong Un of North Korea in his first term? He called him a nice guy and was friendly to the guy (on the surface) who was testing ballistic missiles. It worked. Obama told Trump on leaving office that Obama’s biggest concern was North Korea.

I’m tired of reading so many articles attacking the best president in US history especially as it pertains to Jews in the diaspora and Israelis. Don’t get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with criticizing bad behaviour even if it’s someone who’s done great things or means well. But I won’t rush to judge. If and when Trump really does cross us, only then will I dump him faster than a pile of rocks in a pond. Until then, G-d Bless Trump!
