Peloni: Both Israel and Russia have an interest in opposing the continued Turkish expansion in the region. Of course, coordination between Israel and Russia is not a new event, but in coordination to opposing Turkey it is both new, enlightening, and holds important implications going forward for not only Russia, Israel and Turkey, but for the US as well.

No. Turkey is a NATO member, and Israel is a “Major non-NATO ally”. Russia’s closest allie are China and Central Asia (the Shanghai Cooperation Council), and dictatorships like Cuba, Venezuela and Iran.
