Israel is finally going on the offensive.

By Ted Belman

I have been critical of the Israel government for only acting defensively in response to Arab terror. I suggested that Netanyahu just wants to restore calm as opposed to changing the status quo in response to the terror.

Tuvia Brodie in his INN blog notes that since France has taken extreme measures to combat terror, Israel has done likewise.

How strange: Israel acts cowardly. It watches the world too closely. But sometimes, when terror strikes, it can nevertheless act with speed. This appears to be especially true when Gentiles get tough with their own terror problems.

Israel has come to a decision: it will do no less than the Gentile to protect itself. Or, to put it another way, Israel may be afraid of Gentile response to acts of Israeli self-defense. But Israel will act quickly to follow the Gentile lead when they—the Gentiles—decide to fight.

This is not a pretty sight, seeing Israel so fearful of Gentiles. It certainly isn’t what our G-dly Heritage says about protecting ourselves. But Gentile response to terror does give Israel a window of opportunity—and Israel has certainly jumped through that window.

For example, Israel has shut down a ‘Palestinian’ radio station in Hevron, a hotbed of incitement and terror against Israel. Days earlier, it had shut down the main office of the virulently anti-Israel Islamic Movement’s northern office—and arrested its leader.

Israeli police also shut down 17 additional Islamic Movement offices, seized computers, funds and files.

Now, both the IDF and Shabak (internal security agency) will carry out more intense and proactive activity in and around Hevron (Gil Ronen, “IDF crackdown on Hevron”, Arutz Sheva, November 19, 2015). They will become intrusive inside an Arab stronghold.

Israel will also revoke work permits (to travel into Israel to work) for Arabs from the Hevron area (Ben Ariel, “Israel to revoke ‘special permits’ from Hevron Arabs”, Arutz Sheva, November 20, 2015). This will affect thousands of Arabs and their families.

Israel will revoke permits for even more Arabs from the Hevron area who were given permits to enter Israel for ‘personal reasons’ (ibid). All permits previously distributed to that region will be cancelled (ibid).

For the Hevron area, no new permits of this kind will issued. For the rest of Judea-Samaria, existing permits will not be renewed.

Any Hevron-area Arabs who have received this type of permit (who are staying in Israel proper) are now required to return to their homes as soon as possible (ibid).

Finally, Israel takes steps to defend us. Finally, Israel shows it isn’t weak or hesitant.

Israel acts. It shows that it knows how to face terror. It shows that, when the Gentiles lead, it is quick to follow.

Netanyahu has also come out strongly against the German department store, that the Nazis stole from Jewish owners, who have removed all Israeli products from their shelves. He demanded that Germany take action against the boycott. In his remarks he continued:

Netayahu praised the security forces for both thwarting attacks and apprehending the attackers, and also praised the behavior of Israeli citizens in stopping attacks.

“We are facing terrorism from individuals, not terrorism from organizations,” he said, adding that it was “very difficult” to “hermetically” prevent the lone-wolf attacker from carrying out an individual attack.

Therefore, he said, what was needed in addition to the activities of the security personnel was heightened vigilance by the country’s citizens.

“I must say that we are exhibiting that vigilance, a lot of resourcefulness and courage, and this is very praiseworthy,” he said. “We are still in a struggle, and it will continue. This struggle has continued already for 100 years, but we will overcome this wave of terror.”

Regarding ISIS, Netanyahu said indictments were served last week against Israeli citizens who intended to join the terrorist organization. Netanyahu said he is asking the attorney-general to move forward efforts to revoke the citizenship of anyone who joins ISIS, and to ensure that if someone leaves the country to join the group, they will not be allowed to return.

I especially like the shout out to Israeli citizens who have been quick to act against terrorists whenever the need arises. Kol Hakovod.

  1. The West is doing to the fanatics what they have denied Israel the right to do. This is one more example of systemic and systematic antisemitism.
IL need to legalize the status of J & S. There is nobody in the Muslim world that can do anything about it nor in the West. Then decide what to do with the Palestinians who want to live in peace in Israel. All the other should be kicked out.

  2. “We are facing terrorism from individuals, not terrorism from organizations,” he said,

This is a false statement and even BB knows it is false. If its were not false Bb would not have shut down the radio station. the fact is that BB is trying to treat the situation as if it were individual crimes rather than a war perpetrated by a collective residing within the Jewish heartland that is focusing almost ALL its institutions into inciting the slaughter of Jews. Their media, their mosques, their gov instituions of the PA , fatah, hamas….. their schools….. there is no major institution which is not focused on a war with the Jews. the only difference with a war is that they have yet to send out their army,… they have sent out scouts to case the territory and measure reactions. PolL of their population have authenticated that they seek war, encourage Jewish murder, incite Jewish murder. And yet they pay no price for that under the BB regime. BB has made paltry moves to satisfy a clamoring population but he shows no leadership in instituting massive new action to rid the homeland of anti semites.

adding that it was “very difficult” to “hermetically” prevent the lone-wolf attacker from carrying out an individual attack.

BB is unsuccessful at prevention of the individual attacks but he is also a failure at attacking the institutions of the PA which incite:schools, mosques, media, fatah, PA. There are many things he can do e.g. whenever a jew is attacked, the village of the attacker must be investigated to see if their mosques, media, schools have been involved in incitement and anti semitism. If so, the clerics, teachers, principals, journalists, editors, etc must be deported to area a or from the west bank entirely and the institutions shut down, the properties seized and sold and the proceeds put into funds for Jewish victims. Not only terror houses should be demolished but also terror mosques and schools. The collective network which incited and fed the attacker must be dismantled and the participants deported.

There are so many avenues but it appears that the avenue he identifies is the least action and possibly even to reward the terrorists with more chunks of area C. He should be shutting down the southern branch as well as the northern branch. It is time to set a standard of zero tolerance for anti semitism, for libels that incite against Jews in the muslim collectives networks. Identify the instituions, identify the individual schools, mosques, and media… identify the connected individuals and then deport them. Removing citizenship and not allowing back in those who go to IS is less important than removing citizenship and residency to anti semites and inciters in the Jewish homeland.

as for all the things that are announced to be done: like most announcements that come from BB, I say lets wait and see if they actually happen in any significant numbers and for how long are the policies in place and enforced. Deporting anti semites should be an ongoing perpetual investigation and policy.

As BB is unable to prevent attacks on Jews he should set up training and supply arms to Jewish militias…an official community watch with arms and the license to kill. Basically BB has left the settlers on their own to be stabbed when he should be rounding up inciters in the surrounding arab villages and deporting them.

  3. I cannot see concrete evidence of change at high level yet at field level soldiers and civilians are clearing the vermin out.
Reduced to the CMD that means that up to now the Jewish people has been lied to, abandoned, left defenseless…
And going to the offense, if it is the case, would mean to convince the people that they are working to utterly destroy hamas, plo, hezbollah, etc.
Not a none left alive and free.
