Israel: Likud minister says anti-government protesters are funded by Iran

By

David Amsalem’s accusations are backed by evidence, provided in the article below. Also, in July 2024, U.S. intelligence revealed that Iran supports and funds anti-Israel protests.

There is also an expansive network of Iranian proxies in the region and globally, including Iran’s influence on campuses in America. See also HERE and HERE. The same goes for Canada.

Australian Jewish News also points out:

It should be a source of considerable discomfort that former Iranian diplomat, Seyed Hossein Mousavian, has served as a Middle East security and nuclear policy specialist at Princeton University for 15 years, while another former Iranian diplomat, Mohammad Jafar Mahallati, has taught as a professor at two major American universities in spite of Amnesty International alleging his involvement in covering up Iranian human rights abuses. The latter of these two has been the subject of an investigation by the US Department of Education for antisemitism, including teaching students positive views of Hamas.

The Islamic Republic of Iran is often referenced as “the head of the snake,” and for good reason. The regime’s tentacles are influential inside Israel and globally.

Iran International reported on a leaked document last year that showed the IRGC’s role in a global anti-Israel campaign.

“Likud minister accuses anti-government protesters of being funded by Iran,” Times of Israel, May 5, 2025:

Regional Cooperation Minister David Amsalem accuses anti-government protesters of receiving funding from Iran during a speech in the Knesset plenum.

“I am completely convinced that in all of the funding of all the protests you have organized in the State of Israel over the past two and a half years, there is significant Iranian money involved,” says the Likud minister.

He recalls that, in recent months, the Shin Bet has arrested several people charged with, among other things, spreading anti-government slogans on behalf of Iran….

  1. We have heard stories like this for years now. The answer is to follow the money and the money trail starts in lots of places. The stories so far indicate that they who have something to gain are those paying the money. The protests started when the judicial reform was being attempted and the money source seemed to be USA-deep-state, the EU and individually several European countries. So far, it has not been told, nor seemed it likely, that Middle East countries were spending their money on these protests, but, of course, if they can, by subterfuge, make it seem like somebody else is paying, so much the better for them.
Like Adam, I’d like to see convincing evidence.

  2. Appalling. Thank you Ms. Christine Douglass-Williams and Minister David Amselem for exposing this outrage, Any Israeli agents of Iran should be punished severely.

I have been following the Shin Bet;s arrests of Iranian agents, many of them Jews, inside Israel for some time now. But I don’t know to what extent Israel’s “mainstream” opposition is funded by Iran. Amsalem appears to be convinced that it is, I would like to see more evidence of this.

  3. Not at all surprised, as all these marches that are being “performed” have the stench of leftism surrounding them. And we know who are the greatest allies of the leftists… for now…
