Peloni: Granting statehood to the very people who participated in October 7 and who still celebrate the savagery committed over a year ago are the price which Trump will trade for Saudi normalization? Nonsense. The only use of Saudi normalization is greater stability in the region, and carving a state for the Pals out of Israel will achieve the complete opposite of this, and this fact can not be wasted on anyone involved in pursuing such a deal. The Saudi’s have always proven themselves to be excellent negotiators, but they will negotiate on behalf of their interests, not on behalf of that of the Pals, who have only ever had a destabilizing effect on the region.

An Israeli expert recently stated in an interview that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump is likely to pressure Israel to address various demands outlined by the Saudi Kingdom as prerequisites for any normalization agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia.
Dr. Shay Har-Zvi, a senior research fellow at the Institute for Policy and Strategy at Reichman University in Israel said: “Trump will likely push hard to advance normalization efforts from the outset and may pressure Netanyahu to be more flexible in meeting the demands of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman – particularly on ending the war in Gaza and signaling a political horizon for the Palestinians,” Har-Zvi told Israeli news site Maariv, with excerpts translated by The Jerusalem Post.
Har-Zvi added that Trump views achieving lasting peace in the region as one of his objectives, with Israel-Saudi normalization being integral to this vision.
“Failure to achieve normalization could hinder efforts to form a regional coalition against Iran and would forfeit economic opportunities for both the Middle East and the US,” he said.
The warming of relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia has diminished since the war began in the Gaza Strip, with the crown prince, MBS, even accusing Israel of committing genocide.
“The kingdom renews its call for a categorical rejection of the genocide committed by Israel against the brotherly Palestinian people,” the Saudi leader said.
According to MBS, Israel’s approach to the war has undermined “efforts to obtain the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people in establishing peace in the region.”
Saudi leaders have consistently maintained that normalization with Israel will only occur after an independent Palestinian state is established.
“We have no relationship with Israel,” Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan said last year.
Our priority is to resolve the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Our priority is the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state before normalization with Israel.”

Netanyahu always says something that the majority wants to hear and then betrays.
The same ones who bowed to Hamas, will give Gaza and Judea and Samaria to the Arabs for their 24th state.
The voters in Israel have NO influence on the decisions of their politicians (same as everywhere these days), it is all about marketing and theater, and the PTB rejoicing in our stupidity.

@Edgar
I agree 1000%. Not a chance that this limp fish will ever swim again. It was well and done before October 7, even as it still had its supporters, but October 7 changed many things, and all of these changes stand in stark opposition to the TSS being revived by any serious party in Israel.
Also, it isn’t even about Bibi, nor Likud, nor the Right. There is just no political base which could erase or ignore the political shift which took place in the Israeli body politic following October 7.
Edgar maybe right.
All may not be as it seems. 4 days to go.

@Edgar G.
The PM has also sworn repeatedly that the war will not stop until Hamas ceases to exist.
AND…?
The saddest part is that there is no one to replace him – they are all like that or worse – all they are capable of is theatrical performances to put the Jews to sleep (very successfully – because they WANT to be put to sleep, in more ways than one, rather than to be deprived of their illusions).
The miracle of the Jewish State after the Holocaust is being destroyed by Jews themselves.
THERE- will be NEVER be a 2 State solution on any land that Israel has a claim to.
Firstly, the San Remo and Sevres diktats are still in irrevocable force.
Although it conveniently avoids it, the facts are deeply fixed in the UN Constitution itself.
Israel has an authentic LEGAL claim signed by 51 major nations, (at least all the Major Nations signed and the US approved unanimously.)
Secondly Israel is so very small that there is NO space tor a landlocked beggar terrorist state right alongside, for Israel to permit it. A long, porous border means lifelong terrorism. Israel MUST retain the Jordan Valley and the Height’s overlooking Jordan-and Israel.
No it’s just unbelievable….will never happen, besides the PM has sworn repeatedly that under HIS control there will never be a 2SS.
I believe him, but the preceding reasons are more concrete and factual.
Terrible Surrender and Appeasement Deal
https://lel817.substack.com/p/terrible-surrender-and-appeasement
For once I agree with fquigley regarding Trump and MAGA.
Evri, please stop spinning. Trump went on X praising the deal. Of course, by making it happen before he officially takes office, he has plausible deniability that he had anything to do with it when it all comes crashing down. At that point he will put all the blame on Biden and gaslight us that he had no role in it. His MAGA army like the good soldiers they are will all follow suit. That’s what this conman Trump excels at, causing damage and then setting up others for the blame. This happened with Afghanistan. It was Trump who actually made the deal with the taliban to facilitate our withdrawal. So, when Biden pulled out our forces to abide by the deal Trump made and which Trump had every intention of doing had he won, Biden was the one who got all the blame when it went awry. Lucky SOB that Trump is, losing in 2020 actually benefited him in that way. People say the 13 soldiers would not have been killed under Trump, but we don’t know that. That’s not to say Biden is blameless, but Trump shares equal blame for what has unfolded in Afghanistan since our withdrawal. It emboldened Xi and Iran and hamas who learned that America has no staying power,

It was really a case of the befuddled interviewing the befuddled
That Caroline Glick should be interviewing this apologist for MAGA tells it’s own story.
Glick has long lost her bearings and this has finalised it.
She has all the time been spinning this “Waiting for Trump” syndrome
But it hasn’t paid off for Jews. It was entrapment as is every bit of MAGA especially it’s hatred of all things relating to defending the earth by defending earth from profit pursuit. Which is the real essence of Trump and Maga
Jews have paid dearly for that form of philosophy. The tragedy is that it’s not a natural thing for Jews to follow at all because they are in essence a spiritual people
Sebastien Zorn
Speaking about the intelligent and principled hostage families
“If it’s not just a bluff, this will deal a serious blow to both Bibi and Trump though maybe they just want to be able to say that Hamas wouldn’t agree to forestall the usual left-wing insurrection. Hoping against hope.”
The deceit of America is unending. How to keep up with it is a mystery.
Clear they copied the British (good cop bad cop, Labour Tory transitions)
Need to be questioning everything about their essence.
And build a physical alternative especially on Global Warming and protection of our earth.
They do not tell the truth about anything.
This deceit is examplified by latest apologetics from Laura Ingraham.
Jews will be revolted. Her lies reach the depths.

There was none of the usual smug swagger we had come to know from these two people.
Hansen we have come to know as the ultimate Maga madness personified
And Caroline had led into this trap every fancy studio backdrop along her way of deceit.
It takes more than an expensive mic to tell the truth
And what a trap was set for the Jews.
What sophisticated deceit is coming out of MAGA and what a long time it has been happening on Israpundit and what a conflicting change has happened on israpundit since the early 90s
Evri writes

“Analysis | Trump’s Mideast Envoy Forced Netanyahu to Accept a Gaza Plan He Repeatedly Rejected
Israeli sources say that the involvement of the incoming U.S. administration, led by Trump’s aggressive Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, revived hostage talks with Hamas. While Netanyahu’s propaganda machine claims that Trump has left him no choice, what happens inside his coalition will determine whether the prime minister approves the deal”

“How Joe Biden’s work, with Donald Trump’s pressure, brought a hostage deal – analysis”
“Vice President-elect JD Vance explained on Sunday: “Allowing Israel to dismantle Hamas’s last battalions is what Trump means by ‘all hell’ [will break loose].”
“Witkoff and McGurk have worked closely together over the past few days, and there is a consensus between the outgoing and incoming administrations. This is remarkable, given that they disagree on most issues, and it is probably what further closed the gap between Israel and Hamas and the points they disagree on.
Trump will take credit, saying his threats are what closed the deal. Biden will say the deal that was closed was the one he presented back in May. That the deal was closed thanks to American pressure will hopefully be something the two could agree on.”

On the other hand, in Musk’s defence
“Musk calls for treating Gaza like Japan, Germany after WWII
“Billionaire Elon Musk called for eliminating Hamas and then treating Gaza the way the US treated Germany and Japan after World War II.
In a post on X, Musk shared his virtual conversation with Alice Weidel, co-leader of Germany’s Alternative für Deutschland (AfD) party, on Thursday. The conversation discussed many topics, including the situation in Gaza and Israel.
According to Musk, three steps need to be taken to protect Israel.
“There’s no choice but to eliminate those who wish to eliminate the state of Israel, you know Hamas essentially, and then the second step is to fix the education so that Palestinians are not trained from when they are children to hate, to want the death of Israel, so you’ve got to fix the education system,” said Musk.
READ: Qassam Brigades: ‘Most of the enemy’s captives in northern Gaza are missing’
He added: “Then the third thing which is also very important is to make the Palestinian areas prosperous. This third step is very important and this this may this is maybe the hardest step, but you have to have that third step. You have to bring prosperity and you have to help rebuild.”
According to Musk, he spoke to many people in Isreal, who asked when this step had worked in the past, to which he responded: “After World War I the Treaty of Versailles was extremely unfair to Germany and it created a massive amount of resentment.”
“The lesson was learned is after World War II, when Germany and Japan were defeated, the US actually helped rebuild Japan and Germany providing financial support to rebuild Japan and Germany and now Japan and Germany are allies,” he continued, noting that there had been no war with those countries since and that the same should be done with Gaza.”

Laura,
I’m awake…wide awake. “trouble” is a very misunderstood word, it has dozens of shaded meanings.
And from Trump’s previous recent statements, and well known total support for Israel going back for most of his life;
I’d say the trouble would NOT be for Israel but it’s enemies.
Just my view of the threat.

I hope to God, Trump doesn’t fall into the pattern of Republican presidents who betrayed Israel after coming across as a true friend in his second term. All we can do is wait and see. He has good people around him like Mike Huckabee who are telling him the truth, I am sure, but the ball is in his court.
You make a valid point. One I have made myself over the years. But, this might be another factor in Trump’s calculus, splitting his base and hurting the U.S. arms industry which anchors the economy.
“Republicans blame Biden admin for Israel’s decision to seek ‘armament independence’
‘Israel’s interest in reducing dependence on the United States is the predictable outcome of the Biden Administration’s policy of withholding arms sales,’ Sen. Jim Risch said

We need to call out Trump as much as Biden should such a deal be made and not give him a free pass. Edgar, Trump is 100% for himself. He wants the optics of having hostages released on his inauguration. Prove me wrong that he isn’t just another self-serving politician who will place his own political interest above the future of Israel’s security. Trump may even achieve only what Biden was desperately trying to do which was cow Israel into submission. I have no doubt Trump is placing immense pressure on Bibi. Suddenly Peloni is silent.
– Axell, Albert. “Russia’s Heros 1941-45.” Carroll and Graf Publishers. New York. pp. 76-77, chapter entitled, “Stalin’s Son” [Yakov.] Almost done with it. A book somebody on Israpundit recommended a long time ago. Stalin was a monster but, in this case, well-said.
“And what would other fathers say?” Should be put on signs answering the families of hostages who want only their loved ones to be released and don’t care about the others left behind and the leftists who manipulate them with the backing of the Biden regime, not to mention the future victims who will be kidnapped and murdered by the released terrorists and those they train and the Israeli reservists who will die in the next war and the next assuming Israel survives. Sinwar was one of those demons who were released in exchange for Gilad Shalit, you may recall. Now, his brother is putting Hamas back together. Hamas is recruiting.

Edgar wake up. That headline specifically said:
Trump: We’re Very Close to a Hostage Deal, or There’ll Be Trouble
Let’s just hope Bibi has the strength to stand up to Trump as he did with Biden. It will be much harder for him to resist Trump because there will be no one to push back against Trump’s bullying of Bibi. No members of the GOP and no phony talk radio or tv hosts will have Bibi’s and Israel’s back as they did with Biden. Ironically Israel would actually be better off with Biden since he was able to defy Biden with the confidence that the GOP would have his back. On the other hand, Trump can push the same policy and the GOP won’t say a damn thing against him. Israel may be in a far worse predicament with Trump in the White House ironically because he will have no opposition should he stab Israel in the back. The GOP are completely cowed by Trump.
READER-
That’s Biden.Obama/Harris’s US. NOT Trump’s.
I won’t believe it until I see it. Trump is unequivocally for Israel100%.
And he’s reasonable enough to brook discussion or argument.
HIs comment is being misconstrued by onspiracy devotees, yet we must keep all options open until deal is finally presented.
A 14 week moratotium to allow Hamas to regroup and re arm is a NO GO.
Also 1000 bloody handed terrorists in exchange is also a NO…!!
And hostages released in dribs and drabs …also a NO.
https://www.jewishpress.com/news/us-news/trump-were-very-close-to-a-hostage-deal-or-therell-be-trouble/2025/01/14/
Very disappointing. I voted for Bush in 2004 because I liked his first term. I hope this isn’t going to be a replay of history.
Leave hostages behind, release terrorists, let Hamas prepare for the next Oct. 7th? And whenever any nation, including the U.S. tried to divide Israel, it experienced disaster. Does Trump understand this or is this just playing for time to prevent another January Surprise at the U.N. Time will tell. History – and the Almighty – will judge. 6 days to go.
I hope Trump learns from history instead of repeating it.
ERGO: the US is actively destroying the Jewish State while encouraging antisemitism at home.
Trump’s public tough guy persona is a fraud. While he publicly warns hamas that “there will be hell to pay” if they don’t release the hostages, behind the scenes he actually pressures Bibi through his lackey. He was never going to use the military against hamas. There is nothing he could do to hamas that hasn’t already been done by the IDF. He knows hamas is unmovable and the only way to make a deal is by putting pressure on Israel. So, if the hostages are released by inauguration, he will take credit and claim his talking tough to hamas was the reason while in reality it will be because he pressured Bibi. But MAGA will buy into the staged narrative. Trump is a performer, nothing but a fake who created a fake image and who’s nothing more than just another self-serving politician putting his own glory above the long-term security and safety of Israelis. It’s all about Trump wanting his own Reagan moment and doesn’t care how that’s achieved.
It is hard to believe that Trump will backstab Bibi and give a victory to Hamas!
Below is the latest poisoned bait:

@Laura – It seems to me that RIGHT NOW Trump and Biden are working TOGETHER!
@John Galt IV Saudi Arabia has no water, they have to buy it, you cannot add 5 million people to that country.
It also looks as though pressure from the Trump team on Bibi to make a deal for the hostages all so that Trump can take credit and make himself look heroic upon taking office. He wants a Reagan moment. Trump is just another self-serving politician. I’m not sure Israel is going to be better off under Trump than Biden.

If only the rulers of these countries were decent human beings who placed saving the lives of innocent people above their geostrategic goals. If only.
Totally agree
Saudi Arabia is rich – take all 5,000,000 Muslim Arabs in Yesha (Judea, Samaria and Gaza) and move them to Saudi Arabia. If the Crown Prince cares about his Muslim “brothers and sisters” as Arab Muslim leaders have told us for 70 years then get it done. Qatar, Syria and Turkey can takes some too. No more talk. Just action.
Give them jobs and let them flourish.
Another “expert”
Whenever anyone trots out the dated and discredited idea of it being Israel’s responsibility to create a Palestinian state, you can bet that person is an agent of the deep state. Whether it’s the deep state in the US or Israel makes no difference, the goals are the same: a Palestinian state would be seen as a reward for genocide. In fact the exact opposite is what is needed: Hamas needs to be utterly defeated and parts of Gaza should go to Israel. Only that way will deter Palestinian violence.
I doubt that this idea is coming from Trump, but it is in the interest of the deep state to make it seem like it is; it’s a way of dividing Israel from Trump or getting Israelis angry or anxious even before Trump is sworn in.
This is mischief. See it for what it is.
Peloni has it right. Apart from the statements regarding the Saudi push, if they were really so concerned about the wellbeing of the so-called Palestinians, they would have welcomed them into the kingdom instead of refusing them entry.
