PELONI: Eric Metaxas joins Yair Pinto to describes his book, Revolution – Birth of the Greatest Nation, and in doing so he shares the surprise which struck him during his research when he came to understand that the Americans looked back to the model of the Israelites in throwing off Pharoah’s yoke of tyranny as they were striving to throw off the yoke of tyranny of the British Crown. From here the discussion turns to the US-Israeli alliance and the ‘aid’, in which he argues that Israel and America are brothers. The better explanation I would suggest is that the US and Israel each benefit from the alliance and the US investment in Israel’s defenses, and that the US has particularly gained an exponential return on that defense.
