Mudar Zahran, Jordanian Opposition Leader Declares Jordan is Palestine And An Apartheid state: Dr. Mudar Zahran

Mudar Zahran

The Hashemite Kingdom is the worst apartheid regime in modern history—its victims are Jordanians from both sides of the river. Like Assad’s Syria, the Hashemites rule through a system built to keep the majority marginalized under minority control.

  • Over ten million Jordanians are of Palestinian origin-yet not a single one serves as an ambassador.
  •  Not one has ever been appointed president of a state university.
  • Postgraduate scholarships funded by Western governments are never awarded to Jordanians of Palestinian descent.
  • They’re effectively barred from holding government positions- except as teachers or doctors.
  • State universities are nearly off-limits to them; admission is based on royal “grants” and loyalty networks tied to the Hashemites.
  • The General Intelligence Department systematically excludes them from employment, and this discrimination has been documented by international organizations.
  • There’s only one parliament member for every million Palestinians, while the city of Karak -with just 40,000 people- gets TEN representatives.

  1. Mudar Zahean is correct that the government of Jordan is corrupt and all-around awful. Ot os also true that it discriminates against those Jordanian citizens who identify as “Palestinians,” im favor of certain Bedouin tribes with whom the Hashemites formed an alliance when the British “appointed” the present king’s great-grandfather ruler of what was then called “Transjordan” by its British conquerors.

The Hashemites originate not in what is now Jordan, but in the western part of the Arabian Peninsula, known as the Hejaz. The Hashemites claim descent from an extrenely ancient Arabian family that rules Mecca for hundreds of years, even several hundred years before the birth of Muhammed. It is possible that the prestige that this ancient “royal” lineage has given the Hashemites some prestige among certain sections of the Jordanian population, and this may partially explain how the Hashemites have succeeded in holding on to power for over a hundred years.

In my opinion , a huge question mark hangs over the political future of Jordan.
